Triumph 2022 Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition Cruisers – Features and Specs

Features and Benefits

The new 221 Special Editions, which are only available for a single year, combine a striking new paint job that highlights the Rocket’s performance stats as the best in their class with all of the Rocket’s distinctive muscular design, exceptional handling, and easy touring abilities.

The new Triumph Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition and Triumph 2022 Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition Cruisers are aesthetically pleasing, upscale, and sought-after vehicles named after their industry-leading 221 Newton meters (163 LB-FT) of peak torque.

Magnificent styling

The eye-catching Red Hopper tank and front mudguard of the 221 Edition Rockets contrast nicely with the Sapphire Black mudguard brackets, headlamp bowls, fly screen, side panels, rear bodywork, and radiator cowls. The 221 knee pad graphics, which are bold and distinctive, as well as the subdued tank-top graphics, highlight all of the Rocket’s exceptional performance figures, including 221Nm torque (163 LB-FT), 2458cc engine, 164HP power, 85.9mm stroke, and 110.2mm bore, further enhance the paint scheme.

Along with the special editions’ remarkable 221 Edition paint job, the Rocket has become a new contemporary motorcycle symbol with its commanding and mighty attitude, prominent dual headlamps, and exquisitely sculpted three-header exhaust system. With all Triumphs, the attention to styling is of an excellent caliber, as seen, for instance, by the pillion footrest’s secret folding design that, when folded, completely blends into the Rocket’s sleek lines.

Unparalleled performance

The Rocket 3 R and GT provide industry-leading performance even at low revs and are renowned for having the most significant production motorcycle engine in the world. And the new 221 Special Editions got their name from that exceptional performance that set a new standard.

The 2,458cc triple engine not only produces the most peak torque in the world—164 LB-FT at 4,000 rpm—but it also produces the highest peak power—164 HP—at 6,000 rpm. The Rocket 3 R and GT are beautifully smooth, responsive, and thrilling to ride all day in any gear.

The engine has a distinctive hydro-formed three-header exhaust run that was thoughtfully created to deliver the incredibly rich triple-engine roar that will turn heads. The engine has been designed to blend with the Rocket’s magnificent style seamlessly.

A torque-assist hydraulic clutch and a high-performance six-speed helical-cut gearbox are also included in the Rocket 3 R and GT for incredibly smooth operation and a luxurious ride.

Phenomenal handling

The fantastic ride and high level of standard kit of the most recent generation Rocket are all enjoyed by the Rocket 3 R and GT 221 Editions. It also features an excellent suspension system, which consists of 47mm upside-down Showa cartridge front forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping and a fully adjustable Showa mono-shock rear suspension unit with a piggy-back reservoir.

This special edition Rocket 3’s top-of-the-line Brembo Stylema® four-piston radial monobloc front brakes with dual 320mm floating discs improve the car’s exceptional handling. These cutting-edge calipers include an airflow that is tuned for adequate cooling, as well as a lightweight and compact design.

The Rocket 3’s remarkable specification is further shown by its Brembo M4.32 four-piston monobloc caliper and 300mm disc mounted on the back, often seen at the front of a motorbike.

The single-sided cast aluminum swing arm, the mass-optimized aluminum frame, the concealed folding pillion pegs, the internally wired roadster style handlebars on the Triumph R model, and the touring handlebars on the GT model are some of the best examples of innovative design that contribute to the Rocket’s exceptional handling.

The wheels are lightweight cast aluminum and have a complex 20-spoke design. They are wrapped in high-performance Avon Cobra Chrome tires. These were created specifically for the Rocket 3 and provide excellent grip and long-lasting endurance.

Given the abundance of power available, significant consideration was given to ergonomics to maximize comfort and control. The adjustable foot controls on the GT model provide three horizontal and two vertical position settings, respectively, while the rider’s seat has been contoured to offer ideal support. The R model’s seat height is a meager 30 inches, while the GT models is 32.5 inches. The rider may switch the setup from a dual seat to a single heart using an extra infill pad.

Ride-enhancing technology

The new Triumph 2022 Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition Cruisers benefit from all of the basic specifications of the base models including enhanced cornering ABS and optimized cornering traction control. These are regulated by a sophisticated Inertial Measurement Unit, which monitors the roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates of the bike to compute the lean angle and adjust braking and traction control appropriately.

The instruments are full-color TFTs that are angle-adjustable and include two information layout themes that may be customized. With the accessory-fit Bluetooth module, the My Triumph connection system software is installed, activated, set up, and ready to use. It makes it possible to interact with the GoPro, navigate turn-by-turn, operate the phone and play music with the switch cubes, and see all of this on the TFT screen.

Four riding settings—Road, Rain, Sport, and Rider-configurable—adjust the traction control and throttle responsiveness to the rider’s taste and the terrain. The LED switch cubes make it simple to swap settings while moving.

The Rocket 3 R and GT include all-LED illumination, including dual LED headlights, exquisitely designed tail light, indicators, and number plate light, for low energy usage, durability, and excellent visibility on the road. Where applicable market regulations permit, the headlights also include Triumph’s distinctively designed LED Daytime Running Lights, which improve rider visibility to other road users.

Hill hold control, cruise control, keyless entry and exit, a keyless steering lock, and a USB charging port are all standard on Rocket 221 Editions. Additionally, heated grips are included as standard on the GT model.

50+ Genuine Triumph accessories

Like other Triumph bikes, the Rocket can be enhanced with various authentic accessories to improve its comfort, functionality, style, and security. Every accessory is created in tandem with the bike and put through the same durability and quality testing.

In addition to tracking and alarm systems, accessories include the Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quick shifter, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a comfortable seat, and a sports screen.

Additionally, various bags with an inventive, patented cast aluminum retractable and lockable pannier mounting mechanism are offered for even greater touring functionality.

A two-year warranty with unlimited miles is included with the Triumph Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition and the Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition, as well as all authentic accessories.
