A particular one-off premium paint scheme and a unique degree of high specification finish and details will be included on Triumph’s 2019 Bonneville T120 Diamond Edition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1959 Bonneville, the most famous twin in motorcycle history.
In 1959, when the Bonneville T120 first made headlines, a new generation of young motorcyclists with a fresh feeling of optimism, individuality, and freedom led a cultural revolution.
Sixty years after the first Bonneville’s swept the riding world, we’re celebrating with something unique. Triumph’s best-loved contemporary classic, the Bonneville T120 Diamond Edition, is a one-of-a-kind limited-edition version of the motorcycle that remains a tangible symbol of the motorcycle world.
Triumph 2019 Bonneville T120 Diamond Edition Classics – Features
1200cc High Torque Engine
In the Bonneville T120, the 1200cc high-torque 8-valve parallel Bonneville twin engine brings out the bike’s original character.
Its peak torque of 105Nm at a low 3,100 rpm – a remarkable 54 percent more significant than the previous generation – is designed exclusively for the current classic riding style, with rapid and exhilarating torque delivery.
When it comes to delivering characterful, linear power, the six-speed 1200cc Bonneville engine is designed with the precision and rapid throttle response of Triumph’s next-generation ride-by-wire fuel-injection and engine management system in mind.
Traditional aesthetic elements from 1960s Bonneville motorcycles have been thoughtfully incorporated into the engine profile, ensuring that the unique engine outline is preserved.
Liquid cooling systems have been incorporated into the 1200 engine’s attractive design to reduce its visual effect while delivering lower emissions and increasing fuel economy – 13 percent better than the previous generation.
Combined with a revised service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers), the entire cost of ownership is considerably reduced. A unique dual skin design covers the pipe ran into the cat box and out again, resulting in an exquisite peashooter-type exhaust. The exhaust tone is deep and rich, much like the T120’s, and it’s tuned to the level you’d expect from a British twin.
Modern capability
In addition to the T120’s higher level of capabilities, the Diamond Edition of the Bonneville T120 incorporates extensive rider-focused technology to provide excellent control, safety, and increased rider confidence, all while maintaining the genuine Bonneville flair and spirit.
Relaxed and Refined Handling
The chassis and suspension of the Bonneville T120 have been optimized for calm and refined daily, all-day riding, solo or with passenger use.
Comfortable seats and suspension travel combine with Triumph’s well-known riding dynamics to provide an exhilarating yet relaxed experience. The T120 Diamond Edition’s comfortable riding posture, heated grips, center stand, and passenger grab rail all come standard on this model.
Original Styling
With the ’59 Bonneville as inspiration, the new Bonneville T120 incorporates more of the original DNA and classic stylistic cues, details, and features into the new bike’s design.
The T120 is a superbly refined version of a classic design, from the overall Bonneville profile to the sculpted unique flowing lines of the fuel tank to the exquisite emblems, lighting, and magnificent twin clocks.
