Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Engine Features
The newly designed 776cc parallel-twin D.O.H.C. engine quickly reaches its maximum power output while delivering the perfect balance of smooth, controlled, torquey power at low R.P.M. In addition to providing a distinctive and thrilling exhaust tone, the 270-degree crankshaft design features power delivery similar to the 90-degree V-twins used in the previous Suzuki 2022 V-Strom 800D. Thanks to its spaced power pulses, the Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle is easy to operate on forest roads and trails. It improves traction and contributes to solid power output at very low speeds.
For the first time on a production motorbike, Suzuki’s unique cross-balancer technology contributes to a lightweight, compact design that offers smooth operation. The piston was designed to improve strength and reduce weight using F.E.M. (Infinite Element Method) analysis. Suzuki’s Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (S.C.E.M.) technology is used to plate the 84mm cylinder bores inside the aluminum die-cast cylinders.
The S.C.E.M. cylinder, first developed for racing and tested on the track, improves heat dissipation, reduces friction, and offers a reliable, wear-resistant seal to the piston rings. Two 42mm electronically linked throttle bodies authentically respond to the rider’s throttle operation.
Two 10-hole, long-nose, 49 P.S.I. (343 kph) high-pressure feed fuel injectors are used in the Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle to improve fuel atomization for better combustion and lower fuel consumption. Computer-aided design created the intake pipe length and geometry of the 6.0L air cleaner box to achieve maximum power output and good torque production at low engine speeds.
Airbox dimensions and placement behind the seat help create a compact and sleek chassis for the Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle. The stainless steel 2-into-1 exhaust system features an attractive long, upswept muffler strategically placed for future equipment installation. It also installs a high-flow, dual-stage catalytic converter inside the mid-pipe to help meet global emissions regulations.
A large-capacity radiator effectively cools the parallel twin of the Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle. At low speeds, the thermostatically controlled cooling fan helps maintain coolant temperature and shuts off.
The unique cooling system inlet control thermostat valve helps maintain a constant engine temperature and reduces idle speed during warm-up. It contributes to lower emissions and stabilizes combustion. The Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle also features a small, lightweight liquid-cooled oil cooler that lowers lubrication temperatures for reliable and smooth engine operation.

Driveline Features
The six-speed transmission’s gear ratios provide thrilling acceleration whether shifting conventionally or using the standard two-way quick shift system without engaging the clutch. The Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle’s precise shift linkage makes it easy and fast for the rider to select the right gear for the riding conditions. The two-way quick-shift system reacts precisely to rider movement thanks to a sensor on the shift rod that transmits shifter movement data to the E.C.M.
The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (S.C.A.S.) controls the transmission’s output. This technology allows smoother downshifts by allowing a small clutch slip, similar to a slipper clutch.
In addition, it acts as an assist clutch, maintaining a smooth and precise clutch lever pull while increasing plate pressure during acceleration. This large-diameter, wet, multi-plate clutch provides excellent friction feel and light draw thanks to an accurate cable-operated release mechanism. A robust O-ring drive chain with prepackaged lubricant between pins and rollers ensures reliable, quiet operation on sturdy steel sprockets.
Chassis Features
The Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle’s backbone-style frame was designed with the new, compact parallel-twin engine in mind. It was constructed from durable steel pipe and was intended to give the bike the strength it needed to deliver exceptional straight-line stability and agile handling when navigating rough trails or at highway speeds used to travel.

The engine is perfectly mounted and suspended in the frame, resulting in a robust chassis that offers the necessary compliance for a range of riding experiences. With a longer wheelbase and rack, more extended ground clearance, and a broad handlebar grip, the frame and engine package help create an off-road-friendly chassis geometry.
The removable steel subframe has a narrow seat rail width, resulting in a slim seat profile that helps riders control the bike with their legs. Compared to other adventure motorcycles, the hip point of the rider is positioned further forward thanks to the ergonomic design made possible by the short length of the engine. It allows riders to move more weight forward to improve control around rocky terrain and tight turns.
This chassis offers the most extended suspension travel on a V-Strom model, with a longer 8.7-inch (220mm) front fork suspension stroke and 8.7-inch (220mm) rear wheel travel. Long-travel suspension and a compact chassis achieve the highest ground clearance of any V-Strom model at 8.75 inches (220 mm).
The side stand and optional center stan were designed to allow the motorcycle to have more prolonged ground clearance. Showa’s inverted-style fork features spring preload adjustment in addition to compression and rebound damping force adjustment, allowing the suspension to be adjusted to rider preference or riding environment. The inner tube diameter of the fork is 43 mm.
A shock absorber in the link-type rear suspension, also supplied by S.H.O.W.A., incorporates a remote gas reservoir to stabilize performance on demanding or long rides. When adding a passenger or piece of luggage, a shock-absorbing remote hydraulic preload adjuster allows quick manual spring rate adjustment.
The shock absorber features spring preload adjustment and adjustable compression and rebounds damping forces that can be adjusted to suit rider preference or conditions. The Glass Matte Mechanical Gray model features black anodized rims, while the Champion Yellow No. 2 Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle features gold anodized aluminum rims. The new Dunlop TRAILMAX MIXTOUR tires, measuring 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70R17 at the rear, feature a semi-block tread design with deep, straight-biased grooves to aid off-road grip and quietness on paved roads.
The Suzuki 2023 V-Strom 800DE Adventure Motorcycle’s aggressive-looking tread features wide, deep grooves that help achieve an ideal balance between longevity and on-road handling, as well as good grip and nimble handling on rough trails. The wheels have a sturdy, tube-type design that gives the tires plenty of support for an aggressive ride on both paved and unpaved surfaces.
The rear brake combines a single-piston, slide-pin style N.I.S.S.I.N. caliper with a 260mm disc, providing the rider with precise braking control that aids in low-speed maneuvering. The rider can choose from two levels of A.B.S. sensitivity and can choose to turn off the rear wheel A.B.S. function for off-road use. Front brakes use strong, lightweight, dual-piston N.I.S.S.I.N. front brake calipers gripping 310 mm diameter discs. The front calipers are mounted axially to allow plenty of clearance to the front wheel’s spokes while allowing for strong and lightweight axle holders under each fork leg.

The rider can easily adjust the front brake lever within a comfortable reach, thanks to its adjustment knob. The user can also customize the gear shift and rear brake pedal per his preferences. Despite its large 5.3-gallon (20L) capacity, the fuel tank is designed to taper towards the rear so that it flows into the narrow seat, which helps. The rider touches the ground when stopped. The interior design and top of the fuel tank were designed to ensure the gasoline volume was the same for the California and 49-state models and adjusted in 0.6-inch (15 mm) increments.
