RSV4 1000 RR 2020 Aprilia Sports Bike – Features
Chassis
It’s a universal truth that the Aprilia is known for its chassis design and agility. The RSV4 1000 RR 2020 Aprilia Sports Bike represents the start of technical prowess that Aprilia has gained from years of experience. It is exclusive to the RSV4 RR and RSV4 Factory because it comes with an exceptional range of possible adjustments. The Aprilia RSV4 is the only superbike in the world that allows the rider to adjust or change the engine position in the frame, the swingarm pivot, the headstock angle, and rear end height.
The new RSV4 1000 RR 2020 Aprilia Sports Bike comes with the semi-active suspension that has been adopted after the careful inspection of the stopwatch demonstration. After two years of research and development with Ohlins technicians and experience gained with Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory, the semi-active suspension is now sued in RSV4 modes.
The Smart EC 2.0 system by Ohlins has tuned finely for RSV4 thanks to the intense development work done by Swedish and Italian technicians who had a great time in its testing and development. Now, riding feel and performance have been improved that helps in gaining speed and handling control. Now, the Ohlins suspension used in the previous generation of Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory and the semi-active system is very different, even from the inside.
The control unit that controls and monitors the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension has access to the bike’s electronic system that means it can recognize all kinds of riding phases. It results in better suspension support throughout the race. The Smart EC 2.0 semi-active system allows simple and customized calibration of the fork and shock absorber with two operating modes, i.e., Semi-Active mode and Manual mode. Both of them can be easily selected using buttons on the handlebars. The three maps adjust the suspension in different ways and determine the semi-active contribution.
The new A1 tires have been developed primarily to suits the circuit with the smooth surface, while the A2 tires have been designed with compound tires and perform well at the track with uneven asphalt. The A3 tires have been dedicated to the road, characterized by freer hydraulics that absorbs imperfection in the road surface.
In manual mode, there are three maps available to provide the predefined calibration types without semi-active assistance in the same way as the mechanical suspension system operates. In the new semi-active and manual mode, the user can use the three logic above maps to tune suspension calibration based on personal taste and riding style.
The Ohlins steering damper is now managed electronically by using the Smart EC 2.0 system, and it can be customized to adjust the calibration best. The OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface) is visible on 4.3 inches color TFT dashboard of Aprilia Tuono RSV4 1100. The OBTi operating logic is entirely based on the goals that the rider wants to achieve during each riding phase.
The braking system remains unchanged, already top of the line with the previous version, and comprises of Brembo Stylema calipers. They are very lightweight and comes with pads having high-performance friction co-efficient.
The brake calipers can easily be combined with the pair of carbon air-ducts that allows the rider to control the operating temperature while ensuring exceptional braking performance. The overall curb weight of the RSV4 1000 RR is just 199 kg, and it is only achieved by using the Akrapovic titanium exhaust tailpipe and the ultra-light lithium battery.
Electronics
The new RSV4 1000 RR 2020 Aprilia Sports Bike comes with all sorts of advanced electronics. These electronics ensure the best performance under all conditions. The motorcycle is the fourth revolution of the Ride-by-Wire system as well. The following equipment comes as standard with the RSV4 1000 RR;
- ATC (Aprilia Traction Control)
- ALC (Aprilia Launch Control)
- AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control)
- APL (Aprilia Pit Limiter)
- AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift)
- ACC (Aprilia Cruise Control)
The motorcycle has got an advanced multimap Cornering ABS developed in collaboration with Bosch to ensure the best riding pleasure on the road. There are three different engine maps, i.e., Sport, Track, and Race, allowing the rider to enjoy different experiences and skill levels. The TFT instrumentation is the actual digital computer that contains an exceptional display features better than RSV4 1000 RR 2019 Aprilia.
Performance
The primary and unique features of the 999.6 ccs Italian technological gem are shared with the 1077 cc engine. The power and maximum torque achievable are 201 HP and 115 Nm, respectively. Just like the Aprilia 1100 cc V4, the RR’s 1000 cc contains an ultra-lightweight piston that has been attached with the segments that reduce the blow-by effect to combine high performance and reliability.
There is also a perfecting treatment for the connecting rod heads that helps in reducing friction. The gearbox features the linear sensor that ensures impeccable shifting operation while the RSV4 RR exhaust system, including a double lambda probe, contains a silencer with an integrated valve.
Colors
The new RSV4 1000 RR 2020 Aprilia Sports Bike is available in two attractive color schemes with a black or grey base.
