Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle – Features

Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle

Unique, elegant design

With its clean surfaces, tight lines, and contrasting front and rear visual mass, the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle maintain the family’s distinguishing characteristics while raising the bar on quality and finish. This bike’s new side panels give it a cleaner, more modern appearance. Ducati’s attention to detail can be seen in some places, including the frame, which strikes the perfect balance between weight and performance, the rear aluminum subframe with integrated luggage mounts, and the ergonomic, practical switchgear. Like the new aluminum-insert key and the redesigned instrument panel.

It’s hard to look at a Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle without seeing the five-spoke wheels. Everything about the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle has been thought out with the user in mind. Like the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s rear grab handle, which can now accept the aluminum Touratech Side Panniers as an alternative to the plastic Panniers provided by Touratech (both optional).

The new TFT instrument panel

The new 5″ TFT instrument panel on the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle has a completely redesigned UI. Higher resolution (now 186.59 PPI – 800xRGBx480) and better visibility in the daylight are all advantages of the new TFT screen, which also provides a better visual style for menu navigation and user-friendly settings. There are also several Riding Modes, such as Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro, which have been given various colors to make them simpler to recognize.

Speed, rpm, chosen gear, total distance, trips 1 and 2, engine coolant temperature, fuel gauge, and a clock are all shown on the LCD and TFT. The chosen Riding Mode, remaining range, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, average speed, air temperature, journey duration, and an ice road surface alert are shown.

Hands-Free Ignition

The Hands-Free technology, which increases security, makes it possible to start the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle without using a mechanical key. Even if the electronic key is never taken out of the rider’s pocket, the system will scan the key’s code within a 2-meter radius of the bike. When the rider presses the “on” button, the bike is powered up, the display is on, and the engine may start. To remove the seat and filler cap, the electronic key has a mechanical “flip” key. A steering lock with an electronic actuator is also available.

Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262

To maximize power at high rpm, the DVT engine (Desmodromic Variable Timing) optimizes high-rpm performance separately by changing the timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts. Instead, it smooths operation at low-to-medium rpm, improving power delivery and increasing torque. In reality, this is a Euro 4-compliant engine with excellent fuel efficiency that continuously alters its characteristics as the rpm changes – undetected by the rider.

The Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle engine’s increased displacement to 1262 cc raises the bar on both rideability and performance. Due to the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s strong torque output in the low-to-mid-range of RPM, Ducati engineers created this new engine from the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s powertrain. Delivery at 5,500 rpm is 18% greater than the previous generation thanks to torque accessible beneath 3,500 rpm, accounting for 85% of the available torque. To put it another way, the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle has the most excellent torque output in its class while running at the most common rpm range of 4,000 revolutions per minute (rpm).

To increase the displacement, the piston stroke was increased from 67.9mm to 71.5mm (the bore remains 106 mm). New connecting rods, a crankshaft, and cylinders were needed as a result. 158 horsepower at 9,750 rpm and 13.2 kgm of torque at 7,500 rpm are the maximum output and torque, respectively, of the DVT system, which was re-calibrated to maximize low-to-mid range torque delivery.

To attain this level of performance, engineers modified the engine’s exhaust and intake systems. In addition to the modified exhaust pipe and silencer arrangement, the vehicle got a new silencer and presilencer. The air intake mouth was modified at the intake end.

On the metal backing of the new belt covers, the DVT emblem is embossed. A key component of DQS Up and Down, the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle engine’s generator cover has been completely rebuilt to incorporate the new, more advanced gear sensor. A shorter stroke has been added to the gear lever linkage for improved engagement accuracy.

Desmo delight

The Testastretta DVT engine, as anticipated, makes use of Ducati’s Bologna-built motorcycles’ Desmodromic valve actuation technology. This unique mechanism automatically shuts the intake and exhaust valves with the same level of accuracy with which it opens them. When riders hear the phrase desmodromic, rider’s thinking about mechanisms that have one control to activate them in one way, as an opening and another for when they’re closed (closure or return), all Ducati models utilize this technology, which is reliable on Ducati Corse Superbikes and MotoGP motorcycles.

Frame

The Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s frame and swingarm have been completely redesigned. The redesigned swingarm is 48 mm longer and has a 24° increase in steering angle. These modifications have resulted in a 55-millimeter increase in wheelbase. Aside from providing improved cornering performance, the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s revised engine character and suspension configuration also provides complete stability while riding two-up with the side panniers fully loaded.

Frontal Trellis structure with large-diameter but thin tubing and two lateral subframes walled off by a fiberglass-reinforced plastic rear load-bearing element provide maximum torsional stiffness to the chassis. Designed as a single die-cast element with manufactured and weld core parts, the single-sided swingarm adds significantly to the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle’s sure-footed handling. It is robust, hollow, and lightweight.

Suspension

The front fork of the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle is made by Sachs and is 48 millimeters in diameter (with tubes in the typical ceramic grey, the signature color identifying semi-active suspension and forged bottom bracket). Sachs is the manufacturer of the shock absorber in the back. The Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system controls the bike’s semi-active front and rear suspension systems. The hydraulic damper and rear spring preload may be adjusted for compression and rebound (automated and incorporated into the Riding). In any mode, the semi-active system continuously exerts control to maintain the bicycle adequately balanced.

Both the front and rear suspensions have 170 mm of travel each, providing a pleasant ride even when the bike is fully laden, as well as safe off-road handling. The DSS Evolution on the S offers even more comfort by allowing fast and easy changes to the bike’s configuration according to the rider’s needs and the kind of trip they are taking: alone, with baggage, with a passenger, or with both a passenger and luggage. The 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019 Ducati Motorcycle models have an updated internal suspension system.

Tires and rims

With a weight savings of 340 grams compared to the Multistrada 1260S DAir 2019, Ducati Motorcycle utilizes lighter alloy five Y-spoke wheels. Pirelli SCORPIONTM Trail II, 120/70-17 tires, are mounted on the front and 190/55-17″ tires are mounted on the rear on all variants.
