KTM’s 890 DUKE takes “sharp” to new heights. You’d expect agility and power from a 600 cc parallel twin, but you get both in the 889 Duke, tucked away in one of the most compact chassis. Mid-sized naked bikes are not entirely rewritten by this bike. It is wholly wiped out. The KTM 890 Duke 2021 Naked Sports Bike has been dubbed THE SCALPEL because of its agile handling. This apex predator has the agility of a single but the heavy punch makes it a deadly weapon. In the corners, the LC8c’s 889 ccs parallel-twin engine and ultra-compact frame mean it’s all about speed.
This liquid-cooled, 8-valve DOHC parallel-twin engine provides 92 lb-ft of torque and 115 pound-feet horsepower. Refinement and general usability are guaranteed by innovative ride-by-wire technology, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. There is also an extra TRACK MODE for when you just can’t resist the desire to tear up the track, and trust us, you will.
KTM 890 Duke 2021 Naked Sports Bike – Features and Price
Engine & Exhaust
Cooling
The KTM 890 Duke has a more prominent radiator with improved airflow to keep things cool on the street or track.
Engine
The ultra-sharp KTM 890 Duke R shares a lot of its aggressiveness with the LC8c engine. A tiny, liquid-cooled eight-valve powertrain, the most compact twin in its class, punches far above its weight in terms of output with its 115 horsepower and 92 nm.
Balancer shafts
Unpleasant vibes aren’t something anybody wants to be around. So the KTM 890 Duke uses balancer shafts in the cylinder head and upfront to guarantee low vibration and smooth power delivery.
Crankcase
The horizontally split aluminum high-pressure cast crankcases of the KTM 890 Duke enable decreased wall thickness, less weight, and better engine cooling.
Ride-by-wire
Riding by wire processes throttle twist grip actions using electronic sensors and triggers the electronic injection system’s throttle valves appropriately utilizing servo motors. On the KTM 890 Duke, however, our ride-by-wire goes the additional mile: You may use it to electrically translate your throttle instructions to get your bike to perform at its optimum. Because of the innovative logic in the engine mapping, fuelling for each cylinder is automatically adjusted to match the conditions. Involuntary wheelies, choking, and jolting are things of the past. Voluntary ones, on the other hand, might be a reality shortly for you.
Exhaust
A stainless steel masterpiece. Allows for a small muffler with dramatic sound because of the centralization of mass provided by the middle damper Test benches. Extensive calculations have shown that this exhaust system significantly impacts the tractable torque curve and high emission regulations.
Airfilter
The KTM 890 Duke’s subframe-fitted airbox has a faster throttle response thanks to shorter intake funnels, while the side air intakes keep things cool.
Chassis
Frame
The dynamic, load-bearing design of the tubular chassis of the KTM 890 Duke is the foundation for its exceptional handling capabilities. As stiff and compact a chassis was made, engineers aimed for maximum turn-in and maximum lean angles so the car could slice through corners with exceptional responsiveness.
Subframe
The airbox is housed in a cast-aluminum subframe. Everything is thrown into two linked parts, eliminating the need for extra plastic covers or brackets, which reduces weight and complexity. For a more robust and stiffer construction, the subframe uses triangular forms.
Suspension
Dedicated factory settings, new springs, and extra-base valve fittings in the front fork are all part of the WP suspension kit for the KTM 890 Duke 2021 Naked Sports Bike. This system was created to maximize power output and handling qualities.
Wheels
The wheels of the KTM 890 Duke are made using a low-pressure die casting technology, making them very light and robust. The reduced unsprung masses and moment of inertia, as well as the improved handling and riding dynamics, are all made possible by the bike’s lightweight wheels.
Tires
The Continental ContiRoad rubber for the KTM 890 Duke comes standard. In addition to better-wet weather grip, more excellent durability and stability, these tires feature ultra-rapid warm-up technology and provide natural, effortless handling on all road conditions.
Brakes
Two radially mounted four-piston fixed calipers, improved brake pads, and two 300 mm discs provide maximum deceleration on the KTM 890 Duke’s front wheel.
With just one disc and one-piston floating caliper, the rear brakes are the most basic on the bike. KTM’s Cornering ABS provides all of this braking force, and it does it with ease.
Ergonomics & Comfort
Seats
Shorter and taller riders will like the bike’s 820 mm seat height. The rider can effortlessly maneuver the bike thanks to the seat cover’s gripping surface. It has been designed to function with both textiles and leather to accommodate a wide variety of riders and riding methods. Same outstanding material is used for the pillion seat cover, which gives it a sleek appearance while also providing excellent comfort for the passenger.
Footpegs
The footpegs of the KTM 890 Duke are made of aluminum, which provides a comfortable riding posture while allowing for great lean angles. PowerParts options include adjustable footpegs and race-ready reverse shifting, which can be done without extra hardware.
Hand levers
There are easily-adjustable brake and clutch levers on the KTM 890 Duke, and this was done with due attention to guarantee that adjustments could be made while riding in gloves.
Handlebar
A 760 mm broad aluminum handlebar with a tapered design gives you complete control. A four-position triple clamp may be moved in three more places to get the ideal riding posture.
Bodywork & Graphics
LED lights
With design inspirations derived from THE BEAST, the KTM 890 Duke has a unique LED headlamp. Daytime running lights flank the high-output LED headlight, delivering optimum lighting and visibility. Additionally, the KTM 890 Duke has an LED taillight, which will be noticed the most by the people you overtake.
TFT dashboard
When flying, DUKE pilots require quick and simple access to vital information. KTM 890 Duke’s colorful, light-variable TFT dashboard is an excellent example. The display bars change color to signal when to shift, either urging you on or alerting you that the engine is still too cold for flat-out backroad assaults.
Software & Electronics
Ride Modes
Sport Mode is for the more aggressive rider, Street Mode is for the more relaxed urban rider, Rain Mode is for the slick conditions, and Track Mode is optional for the ultimate assault. Duke pilots have total power output and the option to crank down the traction control, smooth out the throttle and turn off anti-wheelie for rear-wheel shenanigans, thanks to this feature.
Rider Aids
The KTM 890 Duke incorporates several of the rider’s aids featured on the more powerful KTM 890 Duke R, but they’ve been fine-tuned to be more user- and road-friendly.
