After the PCX 125 and Honda SH 125, a third Honda scooter adopts the new motorization “low frictions” of the Japanese manufacturer: new Lead. Always as compact as before, the small townsman gains the approval, but thanks to its new design, which is also more practical and is more sophisticated too. Presentation!
A new scooter of line entry is announced in the rows of the Honda manufacturer. It is the new version of well-known Honda Lead, which for its recasting goes up in range instead of the old motorization 110 Cm3 (which already succeeded the block 100 Cm3 in 2008) Honda installed the last version of its one-cylinder of 125 Cm3.
One thus finds on new Lead the 2013 block 125 ESP (for Enhanced Smart Power), which even equip the Honda PCX 125 2013 and Honda HS 125i 2013. Under this denomination hides the one-cylinder a 4 time, 2 valves and liquid cooling “up to date”, supplied with the electronic system of injection PGM-FI and whose main features are its compactness, its weak requirements while carburizing, its contained emissions and its performances.
In order to lower the internal frictions, the Japanese manufacturer adopted an eccentric cylinder (“offset cylinder”). The cooling system would also be improved, which would make it possible to reduce the oil consumption.
But hunting for the frictions is not the only explanation to low fuel consumption of petrol of this group. As a small portion, this one is also explained thanks to the adoption of the system “Idling Stop” (or stop and start), Honda technology allowing the cut and the automatic restarting of the engine.
The principle is the same one as on the PCX and the last grinding of large-wheels SH: when the engine exceeded 10 km/h and that its optimal temperature of operation is reached (60°C), the system stops after 3 seconds with the idle, before starting again itself with the least request of the gauzes.
Honda Lead 125i 2013: More sophisticated, more practical
In addition to this new motorization offering more approval, new Honda Lead 125 2013 proposes a better throw weight. Its trunk under saddle of 37 liters capacity can indeed henceforth accommodate two crash helmets.
On the aesthetic side, the face before Lead gains distinction by adopting a design close to that of the last SH. The small town scooter preserves its collected aspect, it is a two-wheeled vehicle of small gauge, but it becomes more sophisticated in the presence of Leeds on the level of the side-lights and the back light unit.
The instrument panel would also be richer and would offer an optimal visibility thanks to its screen LCD. New Honda Lead 125 2013 will be produced in the factory Vietnamese of the Japanese manufacturer, at a rate of 200,000 units a year. For the moment, it is intended for the Vietnamese market and should be exported in Japan during the summer.
Does Quid of its importation on the old man contain? We could join the French subsidiary which unfortunately could not assure us his arrival in France. However, the subject would be currently under investigation indicates to us one. Other information should thus quickly follow… remain connected!
