The Harley-Davidson 2022 Pan-America Special Adventure Bike is designed for those riders who see riding as detouring, both on and off the road. Wherever the road may lead you, this powerful, rugged, technologically sophisticated multi-purpose motorcycle is built to be competent, self-assured, and enjoyable. An exceptional motorbike with adventure traveling capabilities is the Pan America 1250 Special type. One of those choices is Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), a suspension system that automatically switches between a low stopped position and the ideal ride height while the motorbike is moving. Other options include electrically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension.
Our top-of-the-line two-wheel multi-tool is the Pan America 1250 Special motorbike, which was made to last, be explored, and be adventurous. The Pan America 1250 Special and Pan America 1250 adventure touring bikes have dominated the ADV market since their February 2021 debuts. The Pan America 1250 Special has overtaken all other experience touring motorcycles in North America in terms of sales, and Motorcycle.com awarded it the Best Adventure Bike and Motorcycle of the Year. The Pan America 1250 series are rugged, robust, technologically sophisticated multi-purpose vehicles built from the bottom up to inspire rider confidence and stoke the spirit of adventure both on and off-road.
The Harley-Davidson 2022 Pan-America Special Adventure Bike has better TFT display screen visibility. The Vehicle Hill Hold Control active duration has been increased from 10 seconds to 3 to 5 minutes under typical circumstances. Fastback Blue/White Sand has been added as a new color option for the Pan America 1250 Special model.
Harley-Davidson 2022 Pan-America Special Adventure Bike – Features and Specs
All-new Revolution® Max 1250 Engine
Here begins the new era in a century of storied V-Twins. Revolution Max is 150 hp and has plenty of torque, and the liquid-cooled motor includes a surgery power band enhanced to enhance rider control.
Dual Purpose Powertrain
By doing away with including a conventional frame and becoming an essential part of the bike chassis, the Revolution Max 1250 considerably lowers total weight and preserves tight handling. Because of the low center of gravity and very robust chassis, this performance is tangible.
Peak Performance Where It Counts
Higher peak horsepower is made possible by double overhead camshafts (DOHC), and independent variable valve timing broadens the entire power band and enhances torque management. It suggests that you will have as much high-RPM horsepower and low-end acceleration off the line as you can twist.
Revolutionary Suspension
Pan America 1250 Special is the first vehicle to include adaptive ride height. By reducing seat height while stopped and keeping a consistent, ideal suspension sag at speed by changing preload while continually monitoring weight inputs, this factory-installed accessory makes confidence tangible.
Semi-Active Front & Rear Suspension
Showa® BFFTM (Balance Free Forks) front forks with 190mm (7.48 inches) of travel and a BFRCTM (Balanced Free Rear Cushion-lite) coil-over rear shock with electronic preload adjustment and semi-active damping are both used. A linkage system linking the shock, swing arm, and frame gives the rear suspension a progressive sensation throughout the stroke.
Different By Design
The design and technical teams at Harley-Davidson have bent a concept based on usefulness inspired by enduring American off-road vehicles. Pan America is a challenging take on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that combines function and design in a way that stands out in a market of motorcycles that are becoming more similar.
All Terrain Long Hauler
Pan Americas is built to retain a high-speed ride and handling performance even when loaded to the maximum of its weight and baggage capacity thanks to H-touring D’s heritage. No matter how hard you push the Pan Americas, it maintains its poise and assurance. It is a motorbike that is refined, competent, and intuitive.
Vehicle Loading Control, or RIDER COMFORT. By automatically altering the rear preload, this technology detects the weight of the rider, passenger, and baggage to choose the ideal suspension sag.
Semi-Active Suspension System
To maintain the intended comfort setting, this system responds to suspension position, vehicle speed, vertical acceleration, roll angle and rate, throttle, brake inputs, and the chosen Ride Mode.
More suspension compliance and insulating the rider from harsh road conditions are two comfort features.
It is balanced: For all-around riding, a balance between ride comfort and ride control.
Sport: “spirited riding,” or maximum ride control with more excellent damping rates
Off-Road Soft: Initial damping is reduced, suspension compliance is increased, and kickback is decreased, making it more suited for logging roads, washboards, and rocky terrain.
Off-Road Firm: Greater initial damping for more aggressive riding or when less body float is preferred; great for loamy or soft terrain.
Off-Road Ready
1250 Special comes with some upgrades as standard for when you want to visit the uncharted territory.
The engine crankcase is protected from collisions by an aluminum skid plate.
Brush guards assist in stabilizing the motorbike in the event of a tip-over and protect the radiator.
A steering damper to improve dynamic performance when off-roading aggressively.
A brake pedal that is easily changeable without needing any tools enhances control and comfort when the rider is standing.
Semi-active front and rear suspension with a dedicated Off-Road mode that aids the rider in maintaining control and traction on more challenging terrain and roads.
Great Expectations
The Pan America 1250 models come with the newest technology available on the market, including a 6.8′′ (173 mm) touchscreen with a six-axis IMU, selectable riding modes, Bluetooth connectivity, and moving map navigation capabilities.
Tubeless Laced Wheels
The spokes are put into the aluminum wheel rim outside the tire bead as a factory-installed option. In off-road situations, these wheels provide several benefits over cast wheels for the rider.
With this design, a tubeless tire may be used, saving the weight of an inner tube, and the spokes can be fixed on the spot.
Without removing the wheel from the motorbike or the tire from the wheel, spokes that become loose or break may be repaired or replaced.
Adaptive Lighting
This device automatically projects extra light into bends to highlight portions of the highway and roads that an LED headlight would not light without this technology by using the ABS IMU to estimate the lean angle of the motorbike.
Contains three LED components on each side, right above the primary Day maker® light.
Depending on the lean angle of the motorbike, the adaptive lighting turns on in order at 8, 15, and 23 degrees.
The increased illumination is progressive and seems seamless since the current to the adaptable components ramps gradually rather than abruptly turning on and off.
