Harley-Davidson 2021 Tri Glide Ultra Bike – Features and Specs
Motorcycle-Specific Technology Matches Performance to Available Traction
Harley-Davidson® RDRS Safety Enhancements (formerly referred to as RDRS) is a collection of technologies meant to increase rider confidence in unforeseen events or hazardous road conditions. The RDRS Safety Enhancements match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration, braking, straight-line travel, and cornering. The electrical systems incorporate the most advanced chassis control, electronic brake control, and powertrain technology.
Theo Keitel, vice president of marketing, stated that RDRS Safety Enhancements are a technology created by Harley-Davidson and intended to make motorcycling more intuitive. “Our goal is to aid riders of all skill levels in unforeseen situations when electronic intervention may react faster and more precisely than our responses. Activating an RDRS Safety Enhancement may be an uncommon occurrence, but if it occurs, this technology might be useful.”
RDRS Safety Enhancements, introduced for numerous 2020 Harley-Davidson® bikes, are standard on all 2021 CVOTM, Tri Glide® Ultra, Freewheeler®, and LiveWire® models. In the United States, RDRS Safety Enhancements are optional on all 2021 Touring versions. Unless otherwise specified, the RDRS Safety Enhancements are grouped.
The road/tire interface determines available traction. On bikes, RDRS Safety Enhancements can only change brake pressure or engine torque to prevent tire forces from exceeding available grip. These technologies are incapable of increasing grip or intervening while the rider has not applied the brakes or the throttle (e.g., coasting through a corner with the clutch disengaged). On motorbikes, RDRS Safety Enhancements are incapable of directly influencing vehicle direction. It is a significant distinction between motorbike RDRS Safety Enhancements and vehicle stability control. The rider is ultimately responsible for adjusting speed, steering, and course.
Cornering Enhanced RDRS Safety Enhancements
A notable distinction between RDRS Safety Enhancements and car traction/stability control systems is that specific RDRS Safety Enhancements may have “cornering improved” technology, which is motorcycle-specific. The inertial measurement unit (IMU) on Harley-Davidson motorbikes equipped with RDRS Safety Enhancements measures and reports the lean angle of two-wheel motorcycles or the lateral acceleration of a Trike (three-wheel motorcycle) as it navigates a turn. Because the front and rear tires of many motorbikes have different sizes, as the bike leans into a turn, the wheels begin to revolve at somewhat different rates. As a motorbike leans during a turn, the tire traction patch — the portion of the tire that contacts the road – also changes. It is considered by cornering-enhanced technology, which for maximum performance intervenes differently while the motorbike is leaning than when it is upright.
Twin-Cooled™ Milwaukee-Eight® 114 Engine
The most significant displacement among H-D® Touring vehicles. You are equipped with 114 cubic inches of passing and horizon-chase power.
Reflex™ Linked Brembo® Brakes with Standard ABS
They are designed to prevent the wheels from locking under braking to aid the rider in retaining control during straight-line braking. ABS functions separately on the front and rear brakes to maintain the wheels in motion and prevent uncontrollable wheel lock in emergency scenarios.
Boom! â„¢ Box GTS Infotainment System
A refined interface experience with a contemporary style, feel, and performance, as well as remarkable durability and motorcycle-specific functionality. Each component is tailored to improve the rider’s engagement with the bike and connection to the outside world.
High-Performance Suspension
Premium Harley-Davidson® touring suspension technology is designed for Trike models to provide a smooth and responsive ride.
6-Speed Cruise Drive® Transmission
It provides the smooth, quiet shifting and decreases engine speed on the highway, so engine RPM and road speed are better matched.
Trunk & King Tour-Pak Storage
The integrated trunk provides 4.4 cubic feet and 50 pounds of storage space. The injection-molded Tour-Pak® baggage carrier offers an additional 2.4 cubic feet storage space for 6.8 cubic feet.
Daymaker LED Headlamp & LED Foglamps
Darkness-defying headlight so the rider can see and be seen.
Batwing Fairing & Splitsteam Air Vent
A pressure-equalizing duct at the front is intended to provide more uniform airflow and less head buffeting.
Customized touring style and easy-to-maneuver features let you ride with confidence for extended distances. Everything you love about the H-D Touring model, but on three wheels: the revised front and rear suspension for premium touring vehicles are tuned particularly for trike variants. Easy tool-free preload adjustment, a new cornering-enhanced linked braking system with ABS and Traction Control, and plush seats put you in command of an unrivaled driving experience. It contains an Antilock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS) that cooperate to improve cornering abilities. The Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine also provides passing and horizon-chasing power.
