The new Ducati 2021 Panigale V4 Sports Motorcycle surpasses its 2019 predecessor on the race track thanks to a product upgrade in the 2020 Panigale V4. All types of riders will notice this difference. Michelle Peru, both an amateur and a professional rider, benefited from the 2020 surge during testing at the Vallelunga circuit; the amateur rider accelerated by 1.3 seconds, and Michelle Peru reduced her time by 0.4 seconds.
The full potential of the IMU 6D is utilized by the second-generation Hlins Smart EC (electronic control) system, which comes with S-event event-based electronic control.
The Panigale V4 is upgraded every year to make it faster and more exciting for both amateur and professional riders.
The performance of the Panigale V4 has significantly increased in the 2020 model, which enhances track riding for both professionals and beginners.
Ducati 2021 Panigale V4 Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Ducati Corse Aero Fairing
Ducati Corse and Ducati Style Center have jointly developed the aerodynamics package for the Panigale V4 MY2020. It now resembles the Panigale V4 R. The final product is Fairing, which in full Panigale fashion, fully complies with all the features of the Ducati Superbike.
A complete wind tunnel model was improved after a series of initial CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) investigations, as in MotoGP.
90 ° V4 layout
The MotoGP 90 ° V4 powers the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine with Desmodromic timing, which powers the Panigale V4 and features a counter-rotating crankshaft and twin-plus firing configuration. The engine delivers 214 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and 12.6 kg of torque at 10,000 rpm.
Desmo: Combining past and present
The desmodromic system, a feature that makes the Ducati the fastest prototype of the premier racing class in motorcycle racing, is the basis of the new engine. The “Desmo” reaches its highest technical value with its high-spin engine, providing complexity, compactness, and lightness that has never been observed before on the Ducati.
Counter-Rotating Crankshaft
The crankshaft rotates in the same direction as the wheels of road motorcycles. On the other hand, the counter-rotating crankshaft that rotates in the opposite direction is often used in MotoGP. Desmosedici Stradale has used this technical approach to increase the agility and direction-shifting accuracy of the bike to eliminate some of the gyroscopic effects created by the wheels.
Ride in Sport Mode
In addition to the Direct Sport Style Ride via Wire Throttle Response and the new “S” variant, the Sport Style’s suspension setup gives the Sport a choice of 214 horsepower. Even novice riders can enjoy excellent handling thanks to the electronic control settings. For example, the slide-by-brake feature is activated in sport mode, allowing riders to slide on curves safely. The ABS cornering feature is designed to increase cornering performance and detects the rear wheel lift when the brakes are applied.
Street mode
When riding the Panigale V4 on the road, Street Riding Mode is recommended. The new “S” version of this RM has a suspension setup that is ideally suited for rough or bumpy roads, and it provides the rider with 214 horsepower and refined ride-by-wire throttle response, such as Sport Riding. Mood does. To improve safety, electronic control settings offer stability and grip.
Ducati Corse Front Frame
The front frame is now identical to the V4 R. However, it differs significantly due to the lighter, machined sides, which guarantees to achieve the rigidity goals established by the Ducati Corse for SBK competition and further weight loss.
Improved motorcycle balance
The Panigale V4 has a 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) fully adjustable spring preload and compression and rebound damping. Chrome sliders with Brembo radial caliper mounting mounted on fork bodies. The front end is complete with the new Sachs steering damper. The Desmosedici Stradale engine is connected to the rear by a forged aluminum bracket on one side of the Sachs Shock Observer.
2021 Updates
Engine: Desmosedici Stradale Euro 5
For MY21, the Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S models maintain their maximum power and torque levels by Euro 5 (only for markets where Euro 5 is applicable). Many improvements have been made to the Desmosedici Stradale exhaust line and engine calibration to meet the new European limit for harmful emissions.
The silencer uses significant catalysts (+10 mm in length) and a new method of cultivating noble metals, which are essential for increasing the ability to convert harmful gases, although it retains its beautiful shape.
The length and size of the main exhaust pipes at the rear have been adjusted to reduce the catalyst “light off” while maintaining engine performance. Compared to the Euro 4 variants, the length of the previous bank has been reduced to 100 mm and the diameter has been reduced from 42 mm to 38 mm. The new components make it possible to fit a small rear hat shield into the body of the motorcycle.
Electronics: DTC EVO 3 with Ducati traction control
The Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S MY21 range come with an improved strategy derived from the Ducati Corse, further enhancing Ducati traction control. It intervenes in the mid-corner throttle reopening phase. It attempts to gently manage the clearance recovery of the Desmosedici straddle by modulating the torque supplied by the engine and avoiding peak torque at the time of retrieval. Yes, you can now become known as a Lord of the Rings.
Assist mode: Ducati riding mode strategy updated
The Ducati 2021 Panigale V4 Sports Motorcycle has a new riding mode approach that lets the rider quickly compare two possible setups on the course to choose the best setup. To complement the existing Sport and Street modes, the Race Riding mode has been divided into two separate maps for track use (Race A and Race B), which are now freely comparable in individual parameters.
Sport Riding Mode: The Sports Selection provides the rider with 214 horsepower, direct sport-style riding via wire-throttle response, and S-style suspension tuning on the S version.
When riding a Panigale V4 on city streets, Street Riding Mode is recommended. The Panigale V4 S version of this RM boasts a suspension setup suitable for perfectly rough or bumpy roads. It provides the rider with 214 horsepower and refined ride-by-wire throttle response, such as sport riding mode. To improve safety, electronic control settings offer stability and grip.
