Design
The Ducati Design Center has developed the Monster 797 with the dynamic flair that embodies everything the Monster is about. The frame of the Monster 797 Plus is a real design feature that returns to its single-piece origins, from steering head (front section) to the tail. Engine
The Ducati Monster 797 Plus comes with an air-cooled 803 cm3 Desmodue L-twin engine. This Euro 4 engine is capable of delivering 75 hp at 8,250 rpm, and it has the maximum torque of 69 Nm (50.8 lb-ft) at 5,750 rpm. The bore and stroke measurements of 88 mm and 66 mm respectively has been designed to give pure Ducati riding a pleasure. The twin-cylinder engine contains the single 50 mm throttle body with two sub-butterfly injectors. This modification guarantee to have an excellent fluid power delivery and accurate control of the fuel mix aspirated into the cylinders.
The 2-in-1 exhaust has been designed carefully to ensure better fluid dynamics and excellent heat protection for both rider and passenger. The gearbox consists up of the six-speed unit, while the APTC wire-controlled wet multi-plate clutch ensures light lever action and an additional advantage of excellent responsiveness. Moreover, the clutch contains the servo-assisted slipper function that limits the rear wheel de-stabilization during down-shifting. It is designed to be simple and reliable that offers the competitive 12,000 km of maintenance intervals.
Frame
This beautifully made Monster 797 features a traditional tubular Ducati Trellis frame. Its structure is one of the best structures in the world. So rigid and light plus it gives a full view. This frame matches the cast aluminum double-sided swingarm to perfection plus its compact 1,435 mm wheelbase ensure to provide outstanding agility and stability at speed. The low seat with just a height of 805 mm, wide handlebars and the generous steering lock offers excellent maneuverability at low speed.
Suspension
The Monster 797 comes with with a 43 mm Kayaba fork with the wheel travel of 130 mm. The suspension contains Sachs shock absorber. It has adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. They are mounted on the left side of the bike and connected to the frame and swingarm. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t raise the rating linkage. Rear-Wheel travel is about 150 mm.
Tires and wheels
The 2018 Monster 797 Plus mounts light 10-spoke alloy wheels. Pirelli Diablo Rosso II dual-compound tires combine mileage-enhancing durability. These tires have such constant and robust grip with the specifications of 120/70 ZR17 at the front while 180/55 ZR17 at the rear.
Braking system
The 2018 Ducati Monster 797 Plus mounts a Brembo braking system containing Bosch 9.1 MP ABS with an internal pressure sensor. To optimize the braking performance and to maximize the safety at the front section, this Ducati Naked Bike contains twin Brembo M4.32 4-piston Monobloc calipers. These calipers hold discs of 320 mm and an all-new axial-pump brake lever with an incorporated fluid reservoir. The rear section consists up of 245 mm disc with Brembo caliper like the front brake.
