Today’s article is about the Top Ten Best Cruisers Under 1000cc list in 2024. If you want to enjoy riding and have a relaxed, carefree, fashionable “vibe,” cruisers are the ideal type of bike. When we think of motorcycles, we always picture a dreamy, calm evening cruise down leafy boulevards with the engine revved and the gearbox slowly engaged so you can see the surroundings. Even if we can “blame” Harley-Davidson for this, the venerable American company isn’t the only one that can create a classic cruiser motorcycle look.
There is a wide variety of low-slung sluggers available with displacements from 125cc to 1000cc, with prices ranging from £4,000 to (gasp!) £14,000. Some fantastic new options are available, with Kawasaki introducing its new Eliminator 500 and Royal Enfield expanding its lineup with the 650 Shotgun.

If you just want to enjoy riding and have a relaxed, carefree, fashionable “vibe,” cruisers are the ideal type of bike. When we think of motorcycles, we always picture a dreamy, calm evening cruise down leafy boulevards with the engine revved and the gearbox slowly engaged so you can see the surroundings. Able to take a less obscure view. Even if we can “blame” Harley-Davidson for this, the venerable American company isn’t the only one that can create a classic cruiser motorcycle look.

9. Kawasaki Eliminator 500
Kawasaki’s original Eliminator cruisers were hot rod-inspired four-cylinder performance vehicles from the 1980s. However, the Japanese company returned the Eliminator name for 2024 with an entry-level, time-honored twin-cylinder cruiser aimed at taking on the likes of Honda’s CMX500 Rebel. With a shallow seat of just 735mm and a light weight of 177kg, the new Eliminator 500 is relatively easy to handle. It’s based around the 45bhp parallel twin fitted to the A2 and used in the Ninja and Z500. It looks good and is reasonably equipped.
It’s no rocket ship, but it’s fast, comfortable, and easy to handle. With its sleek LCD dash, blackout paint, and easy-to-use controls, it’s also a great way to get started with cruiser bikes. For an extra £400, you can have the “SE” version, which adds headlight cowling, fork gaiters, metallic paint, and a textured seat for an even higher level of style and sophistication.
8. Benelli 502C
Up next in the list of Top Ten Best Cruisers Under 1000cc in 2024, we have Benelli 502C. Some say Chinese, some say Italian. Whatever your opinion of Benelli’s current reputation, it’s undeniable that the brand has gained some notoriety overseas in recent years.
Benelli, one of the few Italian companies to survive into the 21st century, has thrived with funding from Qianjiang Motors and some clever seed engineering with its Chinese paymasters to carve out a happy niche for itself. A miniature Ducati Diavel Italian pony, the Benelli 502C is a beautiful, fearless, and affordable beast, the company’s cruiser version.
Although it’s a good all-rounder and attractive, the more desirable Honda CMX 500 Rebel feels more put together and romantic than the luscious Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
Furthermore, the 502 C is a heavier motorbike than 200 kg, considering its size and power output. However, its price has been slashed by a whopping £800!
7. Moto Guzzi V9
The Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber barely qualifies as a cruiser, but we’re still determining what should be allowed here. The V9 embodies all that Moto Guzzi stands for. It’s an exotic take on any bike its Italian rivals offer. It’s understated beauty, solidly built, and comfortable enough for long trips across Europe. Enjoy a matte silver and house green colorway with high-quality tanned brown trim when you get it with the Centenario trim. Just be prepared to spend an extra £10,450.
6. Royal Enfield Meteor 350
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which sold the most motorcycles in the UK between 126 and 1000cc last year, is universally admired. The Indian brand has always had a devoted following here in the US, but since its 2021 premiere, the Meteor 350 has been a fortune for Royal Enfield.
It’s easy to see why the Meteor 350 has been such a hit with its classic good looks, straight-running gear, incredibly smooth riding experience, and even some nifty technology – like Tripper navigation that lets you track your phone. Project the KeyMap app directly onto your dials. The only minor drawback is that, after initially costing £3,500, the price has risen to £4,059, going up to £4,219 depending on color.
5. Harley-Davidson Nightster
Up next in the list of Top Ten Best Cruisers Under 1000cc in 2024, we have Harley-Davidson. It is the law. Consider a Harley Davidson or cruiser motorcycle. The king of cruisers offers many alternatives for those who prefer low, slow, and loud vehicles, but it’s currently revamping its lineup with more contemporary options. Its entry-level models were dropped due to Euro5 regulations. The most notable is the Harley-Davidson Nightster, the first to adopt the new Revolution Max engine architecture in its condensed 975cc form.
The 1260cc Sportster S is more essential in some respects but looks the part, especially with the shiny Revolution Max engine shell that emerges from it. It feels lighter and more agile than anything the vast H-D should ever be.
If we are talking about a motorcycle that costs four figures, it would be great because it is well-equipped and looks sophisticated. Rather, at a staggering £13,295, it’s essentially the priciest choice available here. If you opt for the upgraded Nightster Special, the price also goes up to £14,495.
4. Honda CMX 500 Rebel
When Honda introduced the Rebel, it did a small trick by entering the mid-to-lower end of the cruiser market and testing the waters. Its performance in the mid-range market and even within the Honda lineup indicates that it now has an 1100cc big brother to aspire to.
On the other hand, the Honda CMX 500 Rebel is a well-designed, well-built, and well-thought-out alternative for customers and is by no means overshadowed. If you combine a competitive £6,399 price tag with a great riding experience, those who walked into a Honda shop looking for the CB500 Hornet might be tempted by something more rebellious.
3. Kawasaki Vulcan S
While Suzuki and Yamaha don’t ship their cruiser models from the US to the UK, Kawasaki has stuck with its iconic Vulcan S model. While this model is a forgotten member of the Kawasaki family, the company has kept it current and marketed it as a stylish, athletic alternative to its more distant rivals. It may not be the most visually appealing vehicle, but it is more attractive and modern than its closest competitors. It also has all of Kawasaki’s renowned craftsmanship and delivers some power from its 649cc, 61 horsepower engine. It is slightly more expensive than the Super Meteor 650 at £7,299 and better equipped and more powerful.
2. Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, though sounding like a moniker from a glam rock Eurovision act, shows the extent of the Indian company’s growth in recent times. The Super Meteor 650 logically combines the success of the smaller Meteor 350 and the Interceptor/Continental GT. Six hundred fifty twins to create a beautiful offering. Royal Enfield has understated retro looks, further enhanced by various customization possibilities.
Though famous, the comfortable 47 horsepower engine perfectly fits the Super Meteor 650. The Super Meteor 650 is the most appealing product because it feels like an authentic, high-quality item and showcases what was once vintage. But now the hip company is daring to try, despite stiff competition.
1. Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
Indian brand Royal Enfield has enjoyed much success lately, partly thanks to its new R&D center in the Midlands, UK. It started with the twin-cylinder 650 Continental GT and Interceptor classic roadsters, and recently, it released the Super Meteor Cruiser (see above), which has even more power. However, the Shotgun 650, which debuted in 2024 and is essentially a hot-rod bespoke version of the Super Meteor, is the brand’s boldest bike.
It retains the same low-slung attitude and a ready 47bhp engine compatible with the A2. However, the inverted front fork, redesigned single-seat riding style, and sharper styling make the result more agile and aggressive. The end product is one of the most attractive and adaptable sub-1000cc cruisers ever built, coming in at under £7000.
