The latest iteration of the bike that serves as the cornerstone of the contemporary DualSport movement is the 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400S Supermoto. Starting with the DR350S and continuing with the DR-Z400S, Suzuki offers exciting, reliable, and powerful motorcycles for anyone ready to hit their favorite off-road path or stretch of asphalt.
The precise handling of the adjustable suspension and the impressive torque generated by the 398cc liquid-cooled engine will delight riders. This incredibly reliable bike has an electric start, an easy-to-read instrument cluster, and is completely street-legal. If you want to switch to severe DualSport rubber, these are fitted with all-black, aluminum Excel rims to receive a stunning stainless steel spoke rim lock.
The 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400S Supermoto is presented with Champion Yellow bodywork enhanced with blue and black graphics, in keeping with its Suzuki off-road heritage. Another addition is the bike’s solid black bodywork, which stands out on the road, on the trail, and even while parking, thanks to contrasting black, silver, and yellow graphics. There needs to be a comparison to the 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400S Supermoto, whether you’re driving on the freeway or a woodland road.

Engine Features
A small, 398cc DOHC liquid-cooled dry-sump engine produces low-rpm solid power. The large 36mm intake and 29mm exhaust valves on its small, four-valve cylinder head allow it to make broad, actionable power and torque to handle any terrain. Easy electric start using an automatic mechanical decompression system and a lightweight starter motor. The Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Materials (SCEM) cylinder is strong, light, and has excellent heat transfer like in 2022 Suzuki DR-Z400S.
The digitally mapped DC-CDI system modifies ignition timing to ensure efficient combustion based on monitoring engine rpm and throttle position. Oil jets in the forged aluminum piston crankcase, which is 10% lighter than cast pistons, provide an additional oil cooling system. The Mikuni 36mm carburetor, fed by a six-liter airbox, features a deceleration enhancer circuit to aid in smooth throttle response during engine braking or acceleration.
Quick-release fasteners on the left side of the body cover provide easy access to the air filter. The motorcycle can meet emissions compliance by using a PAIR (air supply) system for the exhaust without compromising performance. The 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400S Supermoto’s light weight is partly attributed to the magnesium alloy magneto, cylinder head covering, and clutch. A thermostatically regulated cooling fan on the left radiator helps maintain a constant operating temperature.
Transmission Features
This compact, five-speed transmission uses a cable-actuated clutch with a separate magnesium outer shell to simplify clutch maintenance. A sealed O-ring drive chain with low maintenance and long life makes little noise when riding.
Chassis Features
Thin chrome-moly steel tubes and a compact frame provide excellent torsional stiffness and meager weight. The dry sump engine oil tank consists of steering head gussets, a front-down tube, and a backbone tube. An aluminum subframe helps reduce weight and simplify maintenance.
This long-travel (11.3-inch), 49mm cartridge-style fork features adjustable compression/rebound damping, spring preload, and protective rubber boots for smooth operation on and off-road terrains. With 11.6 inches of travel and the ability to modify compression damping and preload, the rear shock absorber is connected to the lightweight aluminum swingarm via a progressive linkage system.
Spoke-fashion dual-purpose tires are mounted on new blacked-out aluminum rims that measure 21 inches up and 18 inches out back. The wheels are configured to take rim-lock when a more aggressive tread pattern is used and are sized perfectly to accommodate the popular Dual Sport tires.220 mm rear disc brake with single-piston caliper and 250 mm front disc with dual-piston caliper provide reliable stopping power.
Specially designed mirrors rotate to avoid damage in case of an accident. An open pouch on the rear fender holds an owner’s manual, a tool kit, and other items. Suzuki Champion yellow or solid black bodywork features bold, contrasting graphics with off-road inspiration.
Electrical Features
The electric start system’s lightweight starter motor and small, maintenance-free 6.5-amp battery allow easy operation. The compact digital instrument cluster includes a clock, timer, stopwatch, odometer, and twin trip meters with increment and decrement capabilities. Brilliant 60/55 watt H4 halogen headlamps, small tail/stop light, lightweight turn signals with rubber mounts, and horns are all considered on-road legal lighting.
Additional Features
Hand guards, a cargo rack, a low-profile seat, and other accessories are genuine Suzuki products. Twelve months of limited coverage. The extended warranty period and additional benefits offered by Suzuki Extended Protection (SEP).
