The 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle offers superior dual-sport performance and levels the playing field. Strong power and adaptable performance make the iconic KLX suitable for riding on paved streets, backroads, woodland trails, and more.
Experience the excitement on a range of terrain with the 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle; plenty of options are available on this very competent, lightweight dual-sport. The KLX300 may be used as a play bike on the weekends or as a daily commuter.
The powerful 292cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine has an electronic starter, an easy-to-use powerband, and cam profiles taken from the off-road Kawasaki KLX300R model. It has a six-speed manual gearbox, 21″ and 18″ front and rear wheels, and an all-new dual-sport tuned long-travel suspension for an impressive ground clearance. Two colorways for the 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle are Lime Green and Fragment Camo Grey.
2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Engine
With 17% greater displacement than standard 250cc class models, the 292cc model offers more power without sacrificing the lightweight and agile feel of the 250. A flat-top piston with a pentroof combustion chamber produces an 11.1:1 compression ratio. Weightless piston, connecting rod, and piston pin enable power-producing rpm without undue vibration. Longer journeys are made more comfortable for the rider thanks to a gear-driven engine balancer, which guarantees even power delivery over the powerband.

Denso radiators offer high cooling efficiency with a large capacity, such as the KX series. The radiators are lighter and smaller due to their narrow profiles and densely packed cores, and their unique fin design allows for superior heat dispersion. When navigating through heavy traffic, the rider’s comfort is significantly increased by the radiator fan cover, which is situated behind the radiator and directs hot air down and away from them.=
Redirecting the air also contributes to the rider’s increased comfort by keeping the tank and other components that come into touch with them more relaxed. For the 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle to comply with stringent emissions standards and be offered in all 50 states, it has a catalyst and a secondary air system to minimize exhaust emissions.
Electrofusion Cylinder
The aluminum cylinder bore’s solid finish allows for better heat transmission while weighing less. It enables tight piston-to-cylinder clearances for increased horsepower, retains lubricant effectively, and is resistant to abrasion and seizure.
4-Valve DOHC Cylinder Head
The KLX300R’s camshaft profiles help provide peak performance and rapid throttle response. A 4-valve cylinder head provides maximum valve area for optimum flow and increases low-speed torque.
In addition to enhancing intake port design, cam profiles add to the engine’s smooth, rapid revving nature. For efficiency at high rpm, a cam lobe with shim-under tappets on each valve has less reciprocating weight.

Kawasaki DFI System
A sub-throttle on the 34mm throttle body helps with mid-to-high rpm performance. A 10-hole injector with ultra-fine atomization enhances performance and offers a smooth throttle response. Easy starting, smooth idling, improved performance, and higher fuel efficiency are all made possible with DFI.
Electric Starter
The 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle is simple to start thanks to its electric starter and the Kawasaki Automatic Compression Release (KACR), which raises an exhaust valve automatically at cranking rpm.
Digital Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI)
A solid but manageable power delivery at low and mid-range rpm that seamlessly transitions to the powerful top-end results from optimized ignition timing. Timing is accurately controlled by the digital ECU regardless of how quickly the RPM varies. Reliability and simplicity of starting in harsh environments. Spark Arrester Certified by the U.S. Forest Service A spark arrester certified by the US Forest Service grants entry to specific public riding locations.
Tensile Steel Perimeter Frame
High-tensile steel tubing and box sections make up the frame. Fast handling is facilitated by the short wheelbase and steering head angle. The very stiff frame facilitates the outstanding straight-line ability. The stiffness of the rear frame has been improved to allow for an auxiliary rear carrier.
Frame
The 43mm Inverted Cartridge fork comes standard with sixteen different compression damping settings. The cartridge reduces fork oil aeration to provide a more uniform damping force.
Uni-Trak Rear Suspension
The very stiff, lightweight aluminum D-section swingarm lowers unsprung weight. The rear suspension linkage and damping settings produce a firmer ride and a more rooted sensation in turns. The remote reservoir rear shock with an aluminum body filled with nitrogen has a 16-way compression, rebound damping control, and threaded spring preload.
Front and Rear Disc Brakes
Weight reduction is aided by the petal brake discs, and improved braking performance is achieved by cleaning the brake pads with the wave pattern. A 250mm floating front disc is gripped by a dual piston front caliper for exceptional stopping power. 240mm disc and a single-piston rear caliper provide robust, dependable performance.
Wheels and Tires
The new 2023 Kawasaki KLX300 Dirt Motorcycle has dual-purpose tyres on 18- and 21-inch wheels.
Relaxed Ergonomics
The ergonomics situate the rider in an easy-to-manage, upright, and relaxing posture. The footpegs are placed near the bike’s centerline for a narrow riding posture appropriate for both on- and off-road riding. A well-padded seat enhances comfort during extended trips.
The design and seat height were thoughtfully chosen to aid riders in reaching the ground and give them more confidence while stopping. The comfortable riding posture is enhanced by the narrow gasoline tank, which has a hinged, lockable one-touch cover.
Digital Instrumentation
A bar-graph tachometer, digital speedometer, dual trip meters, clock, and warning lights are all included in the all-digital instrument panel.
