Go Play

Go for it! A 233cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected engine powers the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle for low- to mid-range power.

Smooth, Reliable, Durable

Easy-to-use, reliable, and robust trail riding is made possible by the lightweight and low-to-mid-range torque provided by the small engine. The new ECU settings result in improved high-altitude power delivery and crisp throttle response in cold weather.

Hassle-free Adventure

Regardless of air temperature or altitude, electric start, and fuel injection provide easy starting and efficient fuel delivery with just a touch of a button. The six-speed transmission is smooth and covers many road riding conditions. They also make interstate cruising and trail riding more enjoyable than the 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S.

Built Tough

The hard-driving 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle’s chassis and engine were co-designed to be lightweight and maximize agility like in the 2023 Kawasaki KX230SR Dirt Motorcycle.

Platform with Purpose

For a wide range of rides and conditions, the short wheelbase, low seat height, and high-tensile steel frame provide the handling needed for confident trail riding. The seat height of the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle is 32.7 inches.

Trail and Road

Frame, seats, and tanks are examples of how form and function combine to give riders better chassis control by simplifying grip. Adjusting the riding position is easy with flush seams between the seat, side cover, and shroud.

Beyond the Road

The new 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle is designed especially for challenging tracks. For this reason, it features front and rear disc brakes, long-travel suspension, and full-size wheels.

Selective On and Off-Road

Long-travel suspension, including Uni-Trak single-shock rear suspension and 37mm front fork, absorbs shock and helps the rider maintain control and composition on rough roads and trails.

Strong Braking Power

Petal disc brakes, which use twin-piston calipers to hold a 240mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, provide even more stopping power.

Big Fun

Front and rear 21-inch and 18-inch full-size aluminum wheels provide safe handling and ride on various terrains.

Go after the Road and Dirt

The 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle will take you to new heights with its on and off-road capability. It is designed for the trails and calibrated for on-road adaptability.

A Kawasaki First

Dual Sport Calibrated ABS, developed in collaboration with Bosch, is introduced for the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle. This ABS technology, aimed at improving stopping ability on low-friction surfaces, will provide confidence to all riders. An ABS cancel function on the switch-operated rear brakes allows for a more aggressive off-road sport ride.

Shine Bright

A new, compact LED headlight provides brilliant illumination at night or in low light. A redesigned front fender and headlight cowling add to the vehicle’s more aggressive look. A large, easy-to-read LCD screen provides information at a glance on the all-digital instrument panel. Its salient features include a fuel gauge, clock, twin trip meters, odometer, speedometer, and indicator lights.

Showcase your Journey

Under the left side cover is a lockable compartment that holds a tool kit. The Kawasaki One Key System activates the side cover panel lock and the ignition.

More Fun and More Riders

Because the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle has a lower seat height, it widens the field and makes it possible for more riders to enjoy the thrill of dual-sport riding. A revolutionary Dual Sport Calibrated ABS developed in collaboration with Bosch for the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle.

Inspiring Confidence

The 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle’s front suspension is a two-stage system with a short 6.2 inches of travel. Because the front forks are shorter, they require stiffer spring rates and smaller dual-stage springs—a 6.6-inch reduction in rear suspension travel results in a 2.2-inch reduction in seat height.

Engine

The long-stroke engine offers a strong pull at low throttle openings and plenty of low- to mid-range torque for easy low-speed control. The SOHC architecture simplifies maintenance. For better engine control on the trail, Digital Fuel Injection (DFI) helps provide a smooth, precise throttle response.

In addition to a constant fuel supply, fuel injection helps reduce emissions by automatically correcting for altitude and air temperature variations. When paired with an electric starter button, DFI provides reliable starting regardless of engine temperature, making starting the engine easier.

An oval cross-section tapered muffler enhances the engine’s easy-to-use performance and gives a powerful off-road appearance. The engine’s low- to mid-range power concentration is complemented by a short final gearing and a smooth-shifting six-speed transmission, making it easy to navigate tight trails.

Frame

Made of high-tensile steel, it was explicitly designed to improve trail performance and increase rider confidence. The engine and frame were built together to achieve the perfect balance of stiffness and precise center of gravity, and the engine height was lowered.

The frame was also designed to grip the rider’s legs easily for better feedback and control. The short wheelbase makes simple maneuvers on the trail easy. Smooth seams between the shrouds, seats, and side covers, along with a relatively flat seat shape, further aid rider control and flexibility of movement.

Lowered the front fork by 2.4 inches to help reduce the seat height by 2.2 inches, using shorter dual-stage springs with a stiffer spring rate than the 2023 Kawasaki KLX230 S Dirt Motorcycle. Suspension travel has been reduced by 2.1 inches with a shorter rear shock and a stiffer climate.

The all-new Uni-Trak® (KP) rear suspension system offers a smooth ride over small bumps without compromising stiffness to absorb big ones. Riders can preload a gas-pressurized single rear shock to help the bike respond to its weight.

Petal disc brakes provide reliable stopping power. Full-size brand-new aluminum wheels, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear enhance trail riding performance. Kawasaki KXâ„¢-style fenders offer a sleek, aggressive look.

A vast, bright headlamp with a 55/60W halogen element provides excellent illumination. The all-digital instrument panel features an easy-to-read, large-display LCD screen with a fuel gauge, clock, odometer, dual trip meters, and indicator lamps.
