The 2023 KTM 125 XC will provide the top-end scream that only a 125 cc 2-stroke motorcycle driven at the mint can provide. Class-leading innovations at both ends enhance the whole motorbike, and the minor caliber bullet in the XC line has been given a fuel-injected rebirth. The KTM 125 XC represents the cutting-edge 2-Stroke cross-country innovation, with more torque, technology, and most importantly, more “Braap!”
KTM 2023 125 XC Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Engine
The 2023 KTM 125 XC will maintain its leadership position in the off-road motorcycle market by producing greater torque than any 125 cc 2-stroke engine. This lightweight powerhouse packs a powerful punch for its size, with a total engine weight of just 39.37 lb. and outstanding horsepower ratings.
All 2-Stroke KTM XC models now have electronic fuel injection and a revised EFI pre-mix. Thanks to the all-new Keihin EFI, the ECU from Vitesco, and the reed valve case design, you can be confident that you are always putting down maximum power, regardless of altitude.
Cylinder
The KTM 125 XC cylinder is more than simply a housing for the piston; it also has a 54 mm bore, highly advanced electronic exhaust port control, and a machined finish for precision port timing. The ride quality, engine management, and customization options are much enhanced with two distinct engine maps. In addition, it self-calibrates, so you never have to worry about adjusting the power valve incorrectly better than the previous KTM 2021 125 XC model.
Throttle Body
The 2023 KTM XC lineup was significantly upgraded by introducing a brand-new 39 mm throttle body. The injectors are placed in a double-injector pattern, mimicking the 4-strokes, to guarantee the most efficient flow into the combustion chamber, and the throttle cable is installed directly, eliminating the need for a throttle linkage, for a more natural and responsive throttle response. As a result, the gasoline is ignited more cleanly and smoothly, and greater power is produced with little effort.
Airbox
The airbox is constructed with strategically placed input ducts to provide optimal airflow and maximum filter protection. Simply removing the left side panel allows tool-free access to the air filter. The easy fail-proof mounting mechanism for safe and precise filter installation is only one of the many characteristics that make the Twin Air filter and filter cage design so convenient.
Frame
An all-new frame design, developed for longitudinal stiffness and repositioning spinning mass closer to the center of gravity, ensures that you will maintain complete control no matter how rough the terrain. The durability, flex properties, and rider feel of frames with thicker walls are all enhanced. Better cornering traction is achieved thanks to the redesigned shock mounting, and the mounting location of the foot pegs has been shifted inward to reduce the chance of hooking up on roots or rocks. The skid plate can be mounted quickly and easily thanks to the forged brackets attached to the bottom frame rails.
Aluminium Framework with Polyamide Reinforcement
The new two-piece polyamide (60%) reinforced aluminum (40%) subframe reduces weight significantly, reaching only 4 pounds. Computational dynamics was used to compute the subframe’s stiffness meticulously, resulting in excellent handling and feedback from the vehicle while maintaining the subframe’s strength and dependability.
Wheels and Tyres
These are more than just cosmetic; they perform well as well. Black high-strength alloy rims by GIANT are laced to hubs with silver anodized aluminum nipples and lightweight spokes. The spoke nipples are now made with a new design that requires less frequent inspection and maintenance. A Dunlop GEOMAX MX-33F handles the front end, while a GEOMAX AT81 covers the rear.
Footrests
The brand-new foot pegs were developed using computational fluid dynamics software, and they include a larger contact area for enhanced bike control while standing on the pegs without the risk of hooking up on deep trail ruts, logs, or rocks. It was made possible by a novel frame mounting design that is smaller in profile and aids in total weight reduction.
Swingarm
A new hollow, die-cast aluminum swing arm is intended to be as light as possible without sacrificing stiffness or durability. Rigidity-enhancing optimizations were made to the topology, and an enhanced casting method cut the weight by around 190 g. The improved flex characteristics of the chassis required a new 22 mm rear axle to be installed. It, together with a redesigned chain guard and chain gliders, increases longevity, decreases the likelihood of snagging on boots or other trail debris, and prevents dirt from collecting in the area between the swing arm and chain guard.
All KTM XC and XC-F models come standard with a NEKEN handlebar, a tapered bar constructed from high-strength aluminum. The exclusive KTM bend provides the best possible grip, and the newly designed KTM branded bar pad absorbs shocks in the event of an accident. The bar pad’s pattern matches the frame protectors and the tank spoilers, adding a refined finishing touch.
WP XACT Front Suspension
Type 48 air mm, and you’ll have all the courage to take on the trails thanks to the WP XACT split damping fork. When driving long distances, new hydro stops in the fork legs reduce rebound and increase bottoming-out resistance over large bumps. The improved reliability and awesomeness of the redesigned fork protection rings are due in no little part to their increased resistance to dirt.
WP XACT Rear Suspension
The suspension travel has been maintained at 300 mm, but the overall length and weight have been reduced thanks to a new rear shock design. A dual compression control knob that may be adjusted by hand has replaced the need for equipment to change between high and low speeds. Because of this, plus the fact that the rebound and preload adjusters have been redesigned, riders no longer need tools or the assistance of a pit crew member to fine-tune their shocks.
Hydraulic Clutch
Even wear, almost maintenance-free operation, and flawless modulation in every circumstance are all assured by the high-performance Brembo hydraulic clutch system. As a result, the clutch’s pressure point and function are unaffected by temperature or time since play is continually corrected. The high-quality, Italian-made Brembo hydraulic systems are very reliable during many hours of race-focused testing.
All KTM XC and XC-F models come standard with a NEKEN handlebar, a tapered bar constructed from high-strength aluminum. KTM’s signature bend provides the best possible handling, and the brand-new bar pad, which incorporates the same patterns as the frame guards and fuel tank spoilers, will help absorb any mishaps’ impact.
A new polyethylene fuel tank with a capacity of 2.24 gallons and an integrated gasoline pump has been installed. The fuel pump has an external fuel line in a protected location to prevent kinking and leaks while maintaining a constant fuel supply.
The rider triangle on the 2023 KTM XC and XC-F models is wholly redesigned, making it easier to have a firm hold on the bike regardless of where your feet are. A redesigned, flatter seat profile and high-grip orange seat cover allow for excellent rider mobility and control, while new plastics help to expel mud accumulation in wet, muddy situations. The bike can be easily grasped and lifted thanks to a convenient hold pocket beneath the seat, above the air box. The 2023 KTM XC and XC-F borrowed visual cues from the early 1990s when purple was a prominent color in KTM’s branding.
