The MV Agusta Superveloce 98 commemorates the establishment of one of motorcycle culture’s most illustrious brands on the iconic 98 engine’s 80th anniversary.
The most recent limited edition motorcycle from the Italian brand, the MV Agusta Superveloce 98, is named after MV’s first engine.
MV Agusta will commemorate the 80th anniversary of its 98 engine in 2023, as we reported earlier this year. The company is formally marking the occasion with a new particular version of the Superveloce.
The paint, a deep crimson in homage to the color used on the original MV 98 when it was constructed in the post-World War II 1940s, is the primary attraction, as is customary with MV special editions.
The Superveloce’s mechanical foundation consists of a 798cc, three-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and a peak speed of 149 mph.

In 1943, Count Domenico Agusta, the man behind the original MV Agusta 98, after which the new Superveloce special edition was called, saw that Italy would need small-capacity motorbikes in the post-war era rather than airplanes. The bike’s primary objectives were accessibility and utility. Since then, the progress MV has achieved to become one of the most well-known luxury motorcycle brands cannot be overstated; paradoxically, the Superveloce 98 personifies this development.
