The Yamaha YZ65 provides young riders the same elite performance and dependability as larger YZ models. It is designed for the discerning little moto racer who wants to win and catapult themselves into the winning zone.
2023 Yamaha YZ65 Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Confidence
The YZ65 was developed by engineers for young riders of dirt motorcycles between 50 and 85 cc. Youth riders may ride quicker and more confidently because of the 65 cc two-stroke engine’s manageable power, a tiny chassis, smaller wheels (compared to the YZ85), and a modest total weight.
Engine Performance
The Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS) features the liquid-cooled, two-stroke, single-cylinder YZ65 engine with excellent power and torque characteristics. The YZ65 has the same cutting-edge innovations as Yamaha’s motocrossers, the YZ125 and YZ250, which have won races.
YZ Lineage
The YZ65 benefits from Yamaha’s decades of top-track performance and tried-and-true toughness. The YZ450F-inspired bodywork, tapered handlebars, and adjustable front and rear suspension are just a few of the trickle-down features of the most miniature YZ model.
Future MX champions start young. And the Yamaha YZ65 is ready to take on the track with a winning performance right out of the gate when you have a desire and are willing to do all it takes to get out there and win.
Welcome to the victorYZone!
The YZ65 was constructed to the same standards as Yamaha’s line of adult racing motorcycles. With Yamaha’s race-developed YPVS for race-winning power, it has a powerful 65cc liquid-cooled 6-speed engine, and its light semi-double cradle steel frame with aluminum subframe offers stable handling and excellent agility.
The YZ65 can grow with you thanks to its adjustable handlebar position, linkless motocross rear suspension, and 36mm upside-down front forks that provide steady handling over challenging terrain. The YZ65 is prepared to take you to the VictorYZone with wave discs for forceful braking, a long cushioned seat, high-grip footrests, dramatic YZ-family graphics, and Icon Blue bodywork.
Before most of today’s ambitious young motocross riders were born, YZ65 Yamaha won its first World MX Championship. We have always believed in making sturdy and reliable dirt motorcycles for everyone, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Additionally, the YZ65 offers winning performance and tried-and-true Yamaha durability: Greetings from the victorYZone!
Engine
The 65cc two-stroke engine has the same cutting-edge components as Yamaha’s YZ125 and YZ250 moto crossers, which have won several races. The tried-and-true reed-valve induction system enhances acceleration and throttle responsiveness across the entire power band using a precisely calibrated Hitachi Asteco® Keihin PWK28 carburetor to meter fuel flow. The Patented YPVSTM makes the most of the small engine and light chassis by combining sharp bottom-end torque with solid mid-range and free-revving top-end.
A six-speed, close-ratio gearbox provides cyclists with the ideal gear for each racing scenario while optimizing gear ratios for best performance. The digital CDI technology ensures accurate timing for optimum responsiveness by monitoring engine speed and delivering exact spark. Even under the most demanding racing circumstances, a compact radiator provides optimal cooling efficiency.
Chassis/Suspension
The YZ65 has a sturdy steel cradle frame with light, neutral handling. This frame offers outstanding bump absorption in the most challenging track portions, jump landings, and whoop sections since it was built with the rigidity balance needed for the 65cc class in mind. Like full-size motocross motorcycles, the removable aluminum rear subframe is made with square-section tubing for less weight and easier maintenance.
Systems for Modulating Suspension Frontally, a 36mm KYB® coil spring fork with settings based on Yamaha’s considerable testing knowledge gives excellent compliance. In the rear, a swing arm with chain adjusters in the form of the YZ125 operates via a linkless shock design that is lightweight and small. Rebound and compression damping may be adjusted in the front and rear suspension systems. Further Wave-Type brake rotors have that full-size YZ family style and are lighter than standard brake rotors. Maxxis Maxxcross SI tires, which come in 60/100-14 front and 80/100-12 rear tire widths, provide exceptional traction on a range of track surfaces.
Additional Features
The YZ65 is highly flexible to accommodate riders of different sizes thanks to its four-position adjustable aluminum handlebar clamp, adjustable clutch, front brake levers, gripping foot pegs, and extended seat design to assist riders moving around the bike. The YZ65 is the family’s smallest member; it has the same aggressive appearance as its bigger YZ and YZ-F brothers. Even the shiny blue Excel® wheels are blue.
