2023 CRF150R Honda Dirt Motorcycle Review Specs Price

Small bikes aren’t often taken seriously. However, the 2023 CRF150R Honda Dirt Motorcycle and CRF150R Expert are not like that. You won’t believe it unless you’ve ridden one or tried to compete against one in a race. The high-performance Unicam® engine is unique to Honda and is known for being small in size but big in torque and horsepower. The engine is based on the one found in our open-class CRF450R, and it has the same famed Honda quality and reliability. Can you tell me the difference between these two bicycles? The Expert version has the same powerful engine and chassis as the standard version, but the wheels are larger, the swing arm is longer, and the seat is higher.

With its wider wheels, higher seat, and greater rear-suspension travel, the Big Wheel version of Honda’s CRF150R is an excellent option for taller riders and the best-selling compact motocrosser. The model is Honda’s smallest motocross machine. However, it still has features normally found on much larger bikes, such as Showa® suspension (a 37mm inverted fork and a single shock mated to a Pro-Link rear system) and a Unicam® four-stroke engine that is unlike any other in the mini MX world, providing a strong but flat spread of power across the rev range.

2023 CRF150R Honda Dirt Motorcycle – Features and Specs

Starting Advantage

Our championship-winning CRF450R and CRF250R serve as the basis for the performance technology used in the CRF150R.

The bike rides well, too. The CRF150R is the little brother of the CRF250R and CRF450R, which handles like a CRF-R in every way. Like its larger siblings, this bike has a robust, sleek, and light steel tube frame that supports a long-travel, low-friction, fully adjustable inverted front fork. You’re destined for victory with genetics like that.

Strong, Light, and Agile

The CRF150R gives the rider the assurance they need to go ‘airborne’ thanks to its robust, lightweight frame, huge wheels, and improved suspension settings for the 37mm inverted Showa front fork and Pro-Link rear suspension system. As you gain experience, moving on the ground and in the air will become second nature.

Engine / Drivetrain

In reality, the engine size is just 149.7 cc. Weighing in at just 43.6 pounds, the engine component is small and lightweight. The oil supply for the crankshaft, pistons and valve train is kept entirely independent of the gearbox and clutch via a twin-sump lubrication system. As a result, the grip is always supplied with cold oil, the engine oil is protected from contamination by clutch and gearbox materials, less oil is circulated, and a smaller oil pump may be used. Moreover, Power, torque, and readability are all contributed by the cylinder head, piston, camshaft, and carburetor. The small design, lightweight construction, and auto-decompression mechanism inside the handlebars guarantee easy cold or hot starting. Good throttle response and manageable power throughout the power band are the consequence of the 32 mm Keihin FCR carburetor’s accelerator-pump circuit.

Even in the roughest track conditions, the suspension settings give decent action. A re-packable aluminum silencer and a stainless steel header are used in the exhaust system. Reliable five-speed gearbox with a low gear ratio

Chassis / Suspension

The CRF150R’s tailor-made front and rear suspension settings provide excellent bump absorption. Large-diameter frame tubing and a cross-member in a lightweight, high-tensile steel frame offer superior maneuverability and straight-line tracking.

Inverted front 37 mm axle, the friction-reducing design of the Showa cartridge fork enhances the ability to regulate compression and rebound.

A large air induction box and washable, two-stage foam air filter are further features. The radiator cover, side covers, rear fender, seat base, fuel tank, front fender, and front number plate are all lightweight plastic and contribute to the car’s sleek, sporty appearance. Rear master cylinder and fluid reservoir in high-performance Dunlop tires HRC works-type rear-brake system are integrated, eliminating the need for a separate reservoir and hose.
