The Suzuki KingQuad 400 ASi SE+, ASi/Camo, and FSi/Camo account for five of the line’s thirteen variants. The new 2023 KingQuad 400FSi Utility Quad Bike and 400FSi Camo diverged from the ASi family by ditching the belt-driven CVT in favor of a five-speed gearbox and semi-automatic clutch. The “FS” indicates a foot shift, while the “I” indicates fuel injection. Its 376cc engine isn’t robust, but it’s enough for the job. There are two variations with plain colors and a third with camouflage for those who like to blend in.

Powertrain: Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The KingQuad, in the middle of the series, is propelled by a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air/oil-cooled 376cc engine. It’s the best since it has a semi-automatic clutch and a five-speed transmission. While the ASi model’s automatic CVT takes care of shifting for you, the FSi version’s design allows the rider to increase the engine’s power as they see fit. We place a premium on the partnership between rider and vehicle. The vehicle includes a 2WD and 4WD system, high/low range, and torque-sensing front differential to properly grip climbs, descents, and other types of terrain.
Handling: Steering, Suspension
Compared to the Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O., which has a 9.8-inch ground clearance and 6.7 inches of suspension travel, the King Quad is not a “lifted” ATV. It has a considerably more modest 45.1-inch width than the Sportsman. Its 615-pound frame is not featherweight, yet it moves with surprising agility. Independent double A-arms and swing arm-type suspension with oil-damped shocks are standard, and 25-inch tires are wrapped around 12-inch steel wheels.
Brakes
Suzuki emphasizes stopping power where it matters most: the front, with its twin hydraulic disc and caliper and 34mm pistons, and the rear, with its single drum brake.
Ergonomics: Comfort and Utility
The KingQuad’s controls are intuitive, but its riding position may feel confining on long trips. However, passengers of average height or more will have plenty of space to move about on the roomy floorboards and in the supportive seat. The floorboards and raised footpegs give stability and traction to the rider’s boots.
The 400FSi has the mounting and wiring for a standard winch, although it does not come with one. A plastic skid plate covers the vulnerable underneath the vehicle.
Payload/Towing
There is a front and rear rack on all Suzuki models, although the manufacturer does not disclose the maximum load capacity. The ASi model of this ATV is listed as having a 66-pound front load capacity and a 132-pound rear load capacity, so we expect the FSi to have the same numbers. Rack extensions and utility boxes may be purchased from Suzuki’s accessories catalog if more space is needed for storage. Even though it can receive a hitch, the King Quad is not approved for towing.
Electronics
DC power outlets, halogen taillights, 35-watt high- and low-beam headlights, an LCD screen, LED indicators for gear, turn signals, and more are all standard on these King Quads.
The LCD screen displays the vehicle’s speed, odometer, trip meter, hours, clock, fuel level, gear indicators, oil temperature, and fuel injection.
Ease of Maintenance
The oil filler/dipstick is conveniently located for quick oil changes. The drain plug is easily accessible thanks to the plastic cover with a hole in e to its accurate five-speed transmission; this model avoids the hassle of a CVT belt.
