The new Kawasaki KLX230S and 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S ABS Dual Purpose Motorcycle are based on the popular KLX230 models but with an advanced suspension that reduces the seat height by 2.2-inch for better ground access. With a powerful engine, active chassis, and long travel suspension, they are designed especially for trail rides, enabling riders to get out of the city and enjoy the trails with confidence and pleasure. In the case of the 2022 Kawasaki KLX230 S ABS, Kawasaki’s first dual-purpose anti-lock braking system is available to give riders even more confidence.

Suspension
Adopting smaller dual-phase springs with a more substantial spring rate than the KLX230 and Kawasaki 2022 KLX230 S ABS Dual Purpose Motorcycle, the front fork was reduced by a total of 2.4 inches, decreasing the seat height by 2.2-inch. A 37mm telescopic front fork defends the rider with a total travel of 6.2 inches that enhances the rider’s confidence, including passing through rugged terrain or piloting on the road. The redesigned Uni-Trak® rear suspension, which has a strong spring rate shock, provides 6.6-inch wheel travel while improving handling and bump absorption.
Ergonomics
The Kawasaki 2022 KLX230 S ABS Dual Purpose Motorcycle’s frame, seat, and tank were designed with a combination of shape and function, making it significantly easier to hold the frame by the legs and offering more chassis control. The 32.7-inch low seat height was completed due to the KLX230 S’s compact design and upgraded suspension.
The overall flat shape of the tank and seat, like KX motocross bikes, allows the rider more mobility by changing riding positions and allowing him to sit further. The design and thickness of the seat were chosen by keeping comfort in mind, as well as dual-purpose riding.
Engine
Smaller in size, the four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine offers smooth, reliable, and long-lasting performance. The engine is 67 mm x 66 mm in length and stroke and has a displacement of 233cc. The new long-stroke torque is powerful in the low to medium range, enabling smooth and easy handling. For easy-to-use power character and reliance, a basic SOHC two-valve design was adopted.
Fuel injection ensures that fuel flow is uniform and free from outside air temperature or altitude. It also allows for adopting an electronic starter, which allows a simple start at the touch of a button regardless of whether the engine is hot or cold and increases emissions. The fuel injection system uses a 32 mm throttle body, which provides precise feedback.
Chassis
The high tensile steel frame offers excellent handling for comfortable and consistent riding on both road and dirt. By combining the frame and the engine, the engineers attained lower engine height, more excellent chassis toughness balance, and a lower center of gravity in a minor chassis. The motorcycle’s movement is aided by its short 53.5 inches wheelbase, allowing riders to communicate more easily on the ground.
Wheels & Brakes
21 “front diameter and 18” rear diameter full-size aluminum wheels help riders to navigate different regions, increasing riders’ confidence and overall performance.
The front and rear petal disc brakes are standard on the KLX230 S motorbike, providing sufficient braking power. The twin-piston caliper makes the brakes stronger and more accessible to adjust thanks to the 240 mm front disc. A unified reservoir and single-piston caliper grip a 220mm disc lightweight, KX-type rear master cylinder.
Styling & Instrumentation
The KLX230 S is styled after Kawasaki’s KX motocross, giving it a vibrant, aggressive look similar to its trail riding abilities. A 1.9-gallon gasoline tank ensures that leisure time continues throughout the day.
Between the handlebars is an easy-to-read instrumentation dash with an on / off switch, indicator lamp, low fuel warning lamp, and FI warning bulb.
Accessories
Riders can customize their KLX230 S motorbike with various Kawasaki Genuine accessories, including a skid plate, frame cover, hand cover, tapered handlebar, handlebar pads, and black codes to suit their specific demands.
ABS Kawasaki
The Kawasaki ABS use front and rear wheel sensors to monitor wheel speed continuously. If any sensor indicates that the wheel is locked, the ABS ECU instructs the pump of the ABS unit to apply the brake fluid pressure (releasing and re-applying pressure as needed to restore traction). Replace until return to regular operation. ABS provides riders confidence, which increases ride satisfaction.
