Key Features

Engine Features
The 999.8cc, four-stroke, DOHC, small engine is liquid-cooled and has a high degree of top-end performance and powerful low- and mid-range power. The Even Firing Order Engine tradition of Suzuki is preserved in the crankshaft. Other bikes’ engines with uneven firing orders vibrate more. However, the GSX-R1000 produces excellent, smooth, dependable power at all engine speeds while producing an audible scream. The short-stroke engine is slimmer than the previous model GSX-R1000 while having a 76mm bore vs. a 55.1mm stroke. To obtain the ideal chassis proportions for accurate handling and to balance the bike’s weight, the engine was moved rearward and placed in the frame. To boost high engine rpm power without reducing low- to mid-range power, the unique Suzuki Racing Variable Valve Timing System (SR-VVT) employs a centrifugal-operated mechanism on the intake camshaft sprocket. Since it is lighter than a tappet-style valve train, the Suzuki Racing Finger Follower valve train has less friction and better valve response at higher engine speeds.
Each cylinder has two 31.5mm intake and two 24mm titanium exhaust valves. The lighter valves have a better response to the finger follower’s arms and allow a redline of 14,500 rpm, which contributes to very high peak horsepower. Cast aluminum pistons with a diameter of 76.0mm were designed using the Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis for the best possible stiffness and weight. To decrease friction and enhance heat transmission and durability, Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM)-coated cylinders are incorporated into the upper crankcase. High horsepower is produced because of the high 13.2:1 compression ratio. The shallow combustion chamber of the cylinder head reduces heat generated during operation. Suzuki’s Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle Bodies are used in the EFI system, which provides precise and smooth power while responding quickly to rider input on the throttle grip.
Transmission Specifications
The Suzuki Bi-Directional Fast Shift System, formerly exclusive to the GSX-R1000R model, is now available on the GSX-R1000. While riding a motorbike in competition, this mechanism enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
Riders can accurately tailor the gear ratio to the riding situation thanks to the six-speed transmission’s cassette-style design. Electronics

The GSX-RR MotoGP dash served as an inspiration for the LCD multifunction instrument panel. Chassis
The Suzuki GSX-engine R1000’s angle was turned backward six degrees using the knowledge gained by constructing the Suzuki MotoGP chassis. The single Showa Remote Reservoir Shock Absorber is connected to the braced swingarm by links intended for racing. The user may alter the motorbike to react to their weight and riding style using spring preload, rebound damping, and new high- and low-speed compression damping force modification.
The Showa Big Piston Front Fork (BPF), which is entirely adjustable and known for damping force management that maintains front tire contact with the ground so the rider has vital sensory input when riding at various speeds, provides excellent suspension action.
Brembo Radial Mount Brake Calipers give the rider an excellent feel and powerful braking performance. There are two ways to attach the 320mm floating disc to the carrier on Brembo T-drive Brake Rotors. Five traditional floating rotor spools keep the rotor in alignment with the caliper, and five T-drive fasteners of innovative design are also present. With this combing connection method, the rotor can absorb more energy, giving GSX-R1000 riders access to significant braking power. To ensure controlled stops, a 240mm rear disc brake with a Nissin single-piston caliper is added to the front brakes. The lightweight, six-spoke wheels, unique to Suzuki, decrease unsprung mass and are designed to withstand the braking and driving forces that a GSX-R1000 can produce.
