In 2022, Suzuki unveiled the all-new Suzuki 2022 GSX-S1000GT Plus Sports Motorcycle. This GT bike expertly combines the championship-level performance of its GSX-R1000-based engine with the agility and light weight of a sport-touring frame to provide riders with a thrilling and relaxing ride. This Grand Tourer has sport bike-like utility, a futuristic design, sleek side cases, and a plethora of add-ons.
Whether a long trip with a passenger or a quick solo rides up a twisty ribbon of asphalt, the GSX-S1000GT+ has what performance-minded touring lovers seek more than simply an extension of the previous generation Suzuki GSX-S1000F. Access your contacts, music, maps, and phone calls at the touch of a button, including the new Suzuki my SPIN connection software that is integrated into the TFT color display in the instrument cluster. Regarding GSX performance, the S1000GT+ is a revelation, and its aesthetic is breathtaking.
Long-stroke GSX-R engine design is used in the 999cc four-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC in-line four that generates consistent power throughout a wide rpm range. It enhances the riding experience at all speeds, from low to medium coverage, where most riding occurs to a high degree when long stretches of highway cruising take place. Overtaking slower traffic becomes an opportunity rather than a problem thanks to the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System’s (S.I.R.S.) electronic cruise control, traction control, and quick clutchless shifting.
Longevity, agility, and superior road grip are all benefits of the twin-spar aluminum frame and superbike-braced swing arm. The new trellis-style sub-frame design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, as it offers secure attachment points for the massive 25.7 L side cases and makes room for a plusher, more comfortable passenger seat. The GSX-load S1000GT+’s capacity and suspension control are fully customizable thanks to its inverted KYB fork and easily adjustable rear shock. Two confident passengers may ride with Brembo’s 310mm floating rotors and twin ABS-equipped, radially mounted four-piston front brake calipers.
Suzuki 2022 GSX-S1000GT Plus Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Engine
The new Suzuki 2022 GSX-S1000GT Plus Sports Motorcycle has a revised long-stroke GSX-R engine that delivers total horsepower and a uniformly robust torque output across the board. All-new camshaft profiles reduce emissions without compromising performance or driveability, and they improve the rider’s sense of agency by decreasing lift and valve overlap. The tensioner and the mechanism for fine-tuning it have been modernized to extend the life of the cam chain and reduce friction.
When paired with the flat-top pistons, Suzuki’s famed Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber (TSCC) architecture in the cylinder head machines out a perfect compression ratio of 12.2:1, which helps distribute power evenly over the whole rpm range. Pistons made of cast aluminum are optimized for stiffness and weight using FEM analysis. The engine case finish is exceptionally high quality, and it contrasts nicely with the new design and appearance of the engine covers (clutch, stator, and drive sprocket).
Especially when the rider is squeezing the throttle to accelerate out of a corner, the new electronic throttle bodies on the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT provide a smooth and controlled engine response. The GSX-improved S1000GT’s engine performance comes from the brand-new redesigned air cleaner’s internal architecture, which also retains the Suzuki GSX-exhilarating S1000’s intake sound.
The new GSX-new S1000GT’s stainless steel 4-2-1 exhaust system mounted is an all-new design, yet it maintains the under-chassis layout, simple aesthetic, and exciting sound of the GSX system.
The sculpted muffler provides a thrilling, unique sound without overwhelming the rider and passenger’s senses, a rarity among under-chassis exhausts. Flow from the intermediate chamber into the muffler is regulated by a sophisticated Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve.
Digitized spark plug ignition using iridium electrodes increases power, improves throttle response, simplifies engine starting, and maintains a more consistent idle speed and temperature. These premium spark plugs last far longer than their cheaper counterparts. The curved, high-capacity radiator is given optimal cooling thanks to the radiator shrouds and lower cowl. An easily transportable liquid-cooled oil cooler is used to remove the surplus heat produced by the engine (like those used on specific GSX-R models).
Transmission
The Suzuki 2022 GSX-S1000GT Plus Sports Motorcycle, race-proven on GSX bikes, has a GSX-R1000-like 6-speed close-ratio gearbox including vertically staggered shafts to make the engine shorter. An accurate shift linkage makes it easy for the rider to choose the best gear for the conditions. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) clutch from the newest generation is standard on the GSX-S1000GT. While boosting plate pressure during acceleration to new heights, the SCAS clutch now acts as a slipper clutch to smooth the overall engine response during engine braking and turn to enter. The 525 drive chain is solid and quiet because it uses O-rings to keep its internal moving parts lubricated.
Chassis
An all-new, tried, proven twin-spar aluminum frame of the Suzuki aids in its brilliant road grip and quick handling. The central spars are lightweight and strong since they are between the new swingarm pivot and steering head. The durable aluminum-alloy swingarm is taken from the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and is heavily strengthened to offer outstanding road holding and improve the bike’s sleek, futuristic superbike look. The new rear suspension consists of a single shock mounted on a swing arm, including spring preload and rebound damping that can be easily adjusted in seven ways.
The 43mm inverted KYB fork features adjustable compression and rebound damping and spring preload and provides a massive 120mm (4.7 inches) of front wheel travel. Only found on GSX-S1000 versions, the TRP six-spoke, lightweight cast-aluminum wheels contribute to the bike’s nimble handling and lively performance.
Dunlop’s latest Road sport two radial tires are optimized for use with the GSX-S1000GT+; the front tire measures 120/70ZR17 and the rear measures a larger 190/50ZR17. They warm up quickly and have an extended tread life, providing incredible grip whether it’s dry or rainy outside.
Wheels and tires like these help provide the excellent grip, stability, and quick handling required for sporty performance while also contributing to the comfortable ride quality owing to revised front and rear suspension. Whether riding alone or with a friend, one can rely on the marvelous stopping ability of dual front brakes 310mm floating discs and new Brembo Monobloc calipers’ four 32 mm of opposed pistons.
In addition to the new front brakes, a 240 mm rear disc brake features a Nissin single-piston caliper that aids in ensuring controlled stops. To match the overall braking force with traction, a new and compact Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) controller may adjust the rear or the front brakes.
The new Suzuki 2022 GSX-S1000GT Plus Sports Motorcycle improves upon the GSX-already S1000F’s impressive levels of comfort and handling by providing a more conventional riding position. The new matte black tapered cast-aluminum handlebar complements the already excellent riding ergonomics and performance-oriented design.
The rider’s and passenger’s metal footrests feature rubber mounts that act as vibration absorbers attached to them. It enhances ride comfort, especially over longer distances, by reducing vibrations before they reach the feet. Both rider and passenger seats have been updated with the new dynamic design that considerably improves long-ride comfort. Each features a special coating that keeps out the elements and offers a comfortable balance between traction and movement. To enhance visibility over the rider’s shoulder, the passenger’s seat is positioned 2.3 inches (60 mm) higher than the seat. The motorcycle’s shifter, rear brake, and hand levers are all finished in black, adding to its performance-oriented aesthetic.
Styling
The rider’s shoulders, head and knees are subjected to less direct wind pressure thanks to its redesigned upper and lower fairing shape. An all-new windscreen is responsible for the GSX-aerodynamic S1000GT+’s performance since it was developed to offer wind protection for the rider and passenger, resulting in an improved Grand Touring experience.
Touring Windscreens are available, which are 2.75 inches (70 mm) taller than the standard screens. This bigger screen not only causes the rider and passenger to stoop forward but also decreases their field of vision and increases the temperature inside the vehicle.
To enhance aerodynamic efficiency and guard the mirrors against the wind, the mirror stalks and mirrors have been significantly modified and are now mounted to the fairing. The head and the stalks were produced to streamline the passage of air through the mirrors, reducing the amount of wind that reaches the rider’s hands.
