In 2022, the Suzuki M109R B.O.S.S. is still the performance cruiser that all other bikes want to be. This dark, intimidating brand-new 2022 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS Cruiser is powered by a powerful V-twin engine with some of the industry’s most oversized pistons. It will have your heart racing the moment you get aboard. This 109 cubic-inch engine is dressed in aggressive blacked-out aesthetics, including slash-cut mufflers, drag-style bars, a supplied solo seat cowl, and a specially designed headlight nacelle that is unique to Suzuki. The M109R’s distinctive color schemes of deep red and black or vibrant blue and black draw the eye away from other cars on the road. Inverted solid forks, a hidden single-shock rear suspension, and a well-designed saddle allow for quick handling and a very comfortable ride on this bike. The future of performance has never looked so dark and promising.
2022 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS Cruisers – Features and Specs
Key Features
Two-tone Candy Daring Red and Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black paint treatments with contrasting graphics are offered for the 2022 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS Cruisers. You can tell it’s a genuine muscle cruiser that keeps true to Suzuki’s performance heritage thanks to the two high-quality paint jobs.
The big, imposing muscle cruiser has a deep, luxurious paint job. From the instantly identifiable headlight nacelle to the drag-style handlebars and gigantic 240mm wide rear tire, this motorcycle is in a class of its own.
The M109R is sleek and practical from nose to tail and looks much better when the tail cowl is placed in the place of the passenger seat. The shaft drive transfers the power of the 54-degree, V-twin, 109 cubic inches (1783 cc) engine to the 240mm wide rear tire.
The M109R’s stopping power is comparable to a Suzuki GSX-R1000R thanks to its double front brakes mounted on radials. The large diameter inverted fork and the 240mm wide rear tire give the bike a threatening, aggressive image while providing a smooth, controlled ride.
Engine Features
The eight-valve, double overhead cam (DOHC), 54-degree, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine displaces 1783 cc (109 cu in) and produces a lot of power and torque quickly.
Massive 4.4-inch forged aluminum-alloy pistons (112 mm). These pistons are the largest used in any production passenger car or motorcycle. Their race-proven design to decrease friction and inertial mass make them ideal for the gasoline engines that power them.
Each of the giant cylinders is lined with Suzuki’s race-proven Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM), which allows for better heat transfer, tighter clearances between the piston and the cylinder wall, and a lighter overall design.
To reduce the vehicle’s overall height, crankshaft position, and center of gravity, Suzuki developed the tiny dry sump lubrication system known as the Suzuki Advanced Sump System (SASS).
The Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve system (SDTV), including 56mm throttle bodies, is part of the industry-leading electronic fuel injection system. It ensures the best possible air velocity for a linear throttle response from low to medium RPM.
Because of the innovative two-stage cam drive mechanism, the cylinder head can be made smaller, the engine can be made shorter overall, and the center of gravity can be made lower.
A robust 32-bit ECM controls a twin spark plug per cylinder ignition system for greater combustion efficiency and reduced emissions.
A three-piece air box with a 9.5-liter capacity and two pleated fabric air cleaners, one on each side of the engine (with twin intakes).
The two-into-one-into-two stainless steel blacked-out exhaust system contains Suzuki’s digitally regulated SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) system for maximum engine performance and a booming V-twin sound.
Cylinders with symmetrical, highlighted cooling fins provide aesthetic attractiveness to the sculpted engine, which also has blacked-out engine covers.
The broad ratio, constant-mesh, five-speed transmission has a high fifth gear ratio ideal for cruising at a relaxed pace on the highway.
In a smooth, low-torque response operation, the low-maintenance shaft drive transmits power to the massive 18-inch rear tire.
Chassis
The high-tensile steel twin cradle frame was specifically developed to handle all the power and torque without compromising the ride quality or operating performance. Its massive 240/40 x 18 rear tire is the largest ever installed on a Suzuki motorcycle. It’s not too noticeable.
Blacked-out inverted front forks have race-proven cartridge internals with 46mm stanchion tubes, allowing for 5.1 inches of smooth wheel travel. Cast aluminum alloy swingarm with a progressive linkage and single rear shock absorber with adjustable spring preload to suit rider and passenger weight.
The front brakes are dual-piston caliper disc brakes floating, while the rear brake is a single-piston disc brake that is also wholly floating. Mounting flat-bend, drag-style handlebars on pull-back risers near the seat improves the rider/machine interface and results in more comfort and control.
The gasoline for all 5.2 gallons is included in the extended tank (4.9 gallons for the California model). The analog speedometer is located on the tank with the digital clock, fuel gauge, trip meters, and LCD odometer.
A digital tachometer, gear position indicator, and LED indicator lights are all built into the top of the headlight cowl. The seats, both the driver’s and the passenger’s, are spacious, well-cushioned, and made for relaxation.
A sporty solo-seat cover (included) may be quickly replaced for the passenger seat to give the interior an even more aggressive look or to be used on solo excursions.
Details on the M109R B.O.S.S. (Blacked Out Special Suzuki) include the following:
