Suzuki 2022 V-Strom 650XT Adventure – Features and Specs
Key Features
These V-Stroms include hand guards, a lower engine cowl, and spoke-style wheels with blue-anodized aluminum rims that wear tubeless radial dual-sport tires. To give the impression that it is prepared for real adventure, it has been painted Glass Sparkle Black and decorated with blue designs.
The 645cc, 90-degree, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine produces a strong surge of power at high RPM and outstanding low- to mid-range torque, making it suitable for every riding situation.
Suzuki’s Advanced Traction Control System, Easy Start System, Low RPM Assist feature, and ABS technologies take an impressive motorcycle to a new level.
An ADV fairing with an adjustable windshield and vertically stacked headlights house a multifunctional instrument panel with changeable illumination.
The aluminum Suzuki V-Strom panniers are easy to install and remove, and its durable but lightweight chassis helps to keep the bike in a manageable size range for day trips.
Engine Features
The V-DOHC, Strom’s liquid-cooled engine, was developed with the SV650 to provide robust and clean power over the whole rev range. SCEM-coated cylinders and low-friction resin-coated pistons provide a class-leading touring range.Several engine cover bolts and nuts are Torx- and standard-drive tool compatible.
This exquisite 2-into-1 exhaust system is located under the chassis, which not only helps to save weight and evenly distribute mass but also allows for a sleek rear end (and optional luggage).
The exhaust system’s two catalyzers and oxygen sensor input to the EFI system improve combustion efficiency and substantially cut emissions.
The fuel-injection system on Suzuki’s 39mm throttle body uses the company’s innovative SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve). A servo motor operates the secondary throttle valves for consistent power delivery.
Each throttle body is equipped with ten long-nose fuel injectors, which improve atomization and combustion for more efficient fuel use.
Suzuki’s Throttle-body Integrated Idle Speed Control (TI-ISC) controls the idle speed of the engine to lower emissions. The device is portable and lightweight.
During low-speed riding and acceleration, the Low RPM Assist feature on the TI-ISC of the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT Adventure seamlessly adjusts the engine’s rpm. It reduces the possibility that the rider may lose control of the motorcycle.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) manages the engine like a modern computer and has been updated with new parameters to accommodate the more efficient air intake and exhaust. This results in better MPG and more linear throttle response.
The engine has dual spark technology heads, each of which has two high-energy, slender-electrode spark plugs to maximize combustion efficiency and power production.
The V-Strom 650XT Adventure comes standard with Suzuki’s Advanced Traction Regulate System, which helps the rider maintain firm throttle control in slippery conditions. It continuously monitors the front and rear wheel speeds, throttle position, engine speed, and selected transmission gear to adjust overall engine output if wheel spin is detected.
There is a difference in how sensitive the traction control is between the three levels (1, 2, and OFF). Mode 1 is the most insensitive setting, and it should only be used by skilled riders or on dry roads (riding on good, smooth roads). Mode 2 is for extreme sensitivity and should be used in ice or slippery circumstances (wet or cold surfaces). When OFF is selected, traction control is disabled entirely.
Another feature of this V-Strom is the Suzuki Easy Start System, which allows the rider to start the bike with a single, short press of the start button, even while the transmission is neutral.
Each side of the compact radiator has a wind-channeling panel to redirect airflow and boost cooling efficiency.
The six-speed transmission is excellent for energetic drives thanks to its tight first through fifth gear ratios and its massive top gear (sixth gear) for cruising on the highway. Drive chains with O-ring seals are usually durable and need little maintenance.
Chassis
With its innovative mounting system, vertically stacked headlights, and ability to cut through the wind, the beak-type fairing of the Suzuki 2022 V-Strom 650XT Adventure protects the rider in style. The three-position height-adjustable windscreen was subjected to wind tunnel testing to reduce wind noise, buffeting, and rider fatigue.
Despite its substantial 5.3-gallon fuel capacity, the fuel tank is designed to be thin at the rear so that fuel may flow into the seat, which is also lighter and aids the rider in making ground contact while stopping.
Fuel capacity has been standardized across the California and 49-state models by modifying the fuel tank’s interior and top.
The large, two-up seat is designed to prevent slips and falls thanks to its slick, non-slip surfaces and embossed V-Strom logo. The aluminum swingarm and frame provide excellent stability and responsive handling.
The rear suspension is of the link type, and the front forks are 43 millimeters in diameter with a spring preload adjuster.
Spoke-style wheels, with black anodized aluminum rims and stainless steel spokes, are flexible enough to handle uneven pavement and strong enough to sustain tubeless tires.
Adventure-spec spoke-style wheels roll on tubeless radial tires made by Bridgestone, measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches in the back.
Front disc brakes are 310 millimeters in diameter, while the rear disc brake measures 260 millimeters, allowing for a manageable stopping force.
The wheels’ velocities are analyzed by the Compact Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), ** which then modifies the brake pressure following the vehicle’s grip.
The lightweight, resin luggage rack is designed to fit flush with the passenger seat back and has easy-to-grasp carry handles.
The Suzuki 2022 V-Strom 650XT Adventure comes standard with Suzuki’s 37-liter ADV-style aluminum panniers that attach to powder-coated, stainless steel carriers, so you can be confident that it can carry all of your gear. These fanny packs are made with 1.5 mm thick aluminum plates and feature robust, no pierce rivet technology. They have quick-release hardware, hinged lids that won’t budge once opened, and locks made of keyed stainless steel. The rubber seals on the tops of these panniers make them completely waterproof. To further reduce the risk of contents being tarnished by metal, they are powder-coated on the interior as well.
The Adventure also has a handlebar cross-brace that can attach accessories such as a GPS to the handlebars and mirror extensions to increase rearward visibility.
The V-Strom 650XT Adventure also has a durable accessory bar, hand guards, and a covered lower engine cowl.
Electrical Features
The LED lights may be adjusted in brightness to illuminate the digital speedometer, sizeable analog tachometer, and LCD data display on the multifunction instrument panel.
The LCDs have various information, including the odometer, a dual trip meter, the traction control modes, the gear, the coolant and outside temperature, the fuel usage, the gauge, and the time. You may toggle between displays by pressing the button on the left side of the handlebar.
LED indicators with an ABS alert and a freeze warning sign work in tandem with the air temperature display to warn drivers of potentially icy road conditions.
The robust three-phase charging mechanism also supplies additional accessory power while charging the 10Ah maintenance-free battery. A spare fuse may be found under the seat.
The stacked 65/55-watt halogen headlights provide enough illumination for driving at night.
LED brakes and taillights are offered and are both bright and resistant to vibration. The turn signals are very bright amber incandescent lamps with clear lenses.
Inside, there is a 12-volt DC accessory outlet mounted on the dashboard for your convenience.
Additional Features
The V-Strom 650XT Adventure is compatible with a wide variety of Suzuki Genuine Accessories, including a matching top case, center stand, auxiliary lights, low and high-profile seats, heated grips, high grip footrests, fuel-cap mount tank bags, and more.
Additional lock tumblers that are a perfect fit for the bike’s ignition key are included so that you may quickly and easily transfer between the Suzuki accessories side and top cases.
The 12-month warranty is on parts alone. There are several benefits to Suzuki’s extended protection plan, which provides coverage for longer periods (SEP).
