Chassis

For 2021, the industry-leading slim aluminum parameter frame is brand new, providing accurate cornering thanks to exceptional front-end feel and ultimate agility when riding at high speeds. The robust and lightweight frame is made up of forged, extruded, and cast sections; the powerful engine acts as a pressure member that adds to the rigidity of the frame.

Brakes and suspensions

The front forks are high-performance KYB 48mm coil springs with large diameter inner tubes that are the same size as those used by Kawasaki’s factory racing team but with better spring rates and damping settings for off-road riding. Large damping pistons can be easily used in forks for smooth movement and firm damping. Kashima fork tubes are coated to reduce wear and abrasion while improving performance.

A new Uni-Trak® linkage system at the rear has been engineered to work with KYB Shock, Aluminum Frame, and Swing Arm. The bottom swing arm linkage enables a longer rear suspension stroke and more accurate rear suspension tuning. The KYB rear shock has dual compression adjustable capability, resulting in the different tuning of high-speed and low-speed damping. Kashima is coated to prevent shock wear and friction, resulting in a smooth suspension action.

Components of KX250X

The KX250X includes many cross-country components, including a combination of 21 “front and 18” rear wheels and Dunlop GEOMAX AT81 tires, which were selected for maximum performance in off-road racing conditions. A solid plastic skid plate and a side stand are also cross-country-specific components.
