Quick Charge Lithium Ion Battery
With a push button quick release to change batteries, you can extend the riding time. The 20Vmax voltage and 2Ah capacity of these industrial-grade lithium-ion batteries and chargers enable riders to charge for 30 to 60 minutes. Depending on the bike, a full charge takes 30 to 60 minutes.
Ultra-Low Adjustable Seat Height
Allowing the rider’s feet to plant firmly on the ground will affect riding confidence. It also makes it easier for the youngster to “dip” his foot when he is off balance. Depending on the size of the young rider, the seat height can be manually adjusted between 13″ (IRONE12) and 17″ height (IRONE16).
Lightweight Aluminum Frame
With total bike weights ranging from 17lbs (IRONE12) to 19lbs (IRONE16), a youngster can quickly build confidence and skill to lift a bike by themselves. A safe and enjoyable ride is made possible by the steel BMX-style fork and aluminum TIG welded frame.
Footrest with a taper
Tapered footrests offer a safer foot position as the rider gains more confidence on the bike.
Twist the throttle
Three power selection modes are available on both models:
- Training Red mode has a top speed of 5 mph.
- The speed range for standard yellow mode is 7 to 7.5 mph. Iron (IRONE12/IRONE16)

Harley-Davidson 2022 IRONe12 – Facts
Tor and I have had a great time with the Harley-Davidson IRONE12, from the first assembly to aftermarket tuning, which has completely changed our family’s daily routine. Here are some details about the Harley-Davidson IRONE12 that you should be aware of.
The Harley-Davidson IRONE12 is an entry-level model from a powered e-bike to a manual balancing bike. It is a high-end, very stylish two-wheeled scooter that is easy to use and accessible to both adults and children. The key terms here are simple and easy.
The 12-inch wheel size, known as “IRONE12”, is suitable for 3- to 5-year-olds with rims between 14 and 20 inches. The maximum weight of any IRONe bike is 75 pounds, and the 13-inch seat height can be adjusted as your child grows. In addition, a larger, more powerful Harley-Davidson IRONE16 is available for 5- to 8-year-olds with an 18- to 24-inch inseam.
The foundation of IRONE12 is the tried and true Stacy Stability Cycle platform. To get young riders outside and on two wheels as soon as possible, the Stacy (pronounced stay-sic) people helped push the youth e-bike movement. To support its entry into the electric motorbike market, Harley-Davidson purchased the Stacy Stability Cycle in 2019.
With a few simple tools, assembly is a breeze. The bike is almost pre-assembled. Disassembling a motorcycle takes more time than removing the cardboard and styrofoam packaging components. Simply attach the headset—with the handlebars already attached—to the top tube, then tighten the bolts. After securing the front wheel to the fork and checking the tire pressure, your child is now ready to ride.
The patented rapid charger and 20-volt rechargeable battery are similar to those used in cordless devices. Before starting to build the bike, start charging the battery. Both the battery and the bike will be ready to go in 20 minutes, saving your little rapper from having to endure any more agonizing waiting.
H-D IRONE12 can be enjoyed without charging. Tor, only three years old, needed to push the IRONE12 into manual mode for a few days before it was ready to go to slow way with the battery attached. It gave him plenty of time to gain confidence before discovering how to apply the handbrake and twist the throttle.
There is a short process to change between the three available maximum speed levels. It was done on purpose as the ride mode must be selected by an adult. Speeds up to 5 mph are possible in Low/Training mode, seven mph in Medium/Standard mode, and nine mph in High/Advanced level.
For learning and gaining confidence, low/training mode is ideal. It moves slowly enough for an adult riding alongside to prevent Junior from accidentally moving into the distance. The IRONE12 is primarily designed as a balancing bike, so the young rider can give it a little power to start the movement and add more speed before heading to the coast.
The handlebar-mounted rear brake lever can be challenging for small hands to reach. Tor found it difficult to fit and squeeze his tiny hand on the factory brake lever, even after adjusting it as close to the handgrip as possible. Because he was wearing his shoes, he had to stop using his feet instead of the brakes.
Save the day with the ASV F2 Series Off Road Rear Brake Lever! Always rely on the aftermarket to meet performance requirements; In our case, the provision of ASV inventions. I was thrilled to learn that they have developed the ASV F2 “Unbreakable” forged aluminum lever specifically for Stacy-based e-bikes, as I love their levers for motorcycle racing applications. Since it uses a standard lever perch, installation is easy. It’s ideal for smaller touring hands as it has a full four-inch adjustment range.
The ASV F2 lever is a carefully designed tool that’s easy to pull, fully adjustable, nearly indestructible, and available in four colors (but not orange). Although it costs $55, we think it’s worth it. When the Tor outgrows the 12, it will most certainly be converted to the Harley-Davidson IRONE16.
