Motorcycle-Specific Technology Matches Performance to Available Traction
Harley-Davidson There is many technologies to help the rider feel more confident when faced with unexpected scenarios or poor road conditions. RDRS Safety Enhancements (previously known as RDRS) RDRS Safety Enhancements are intended to adapt the acceleration, deceleration, and braking of a motorbike to the available traction, whether traveling straight or making a curve. Systems are electrical and use the latest chassis control, electronic brake control, and powertrain technology.
Theo Keitel, Harley-VP Davidson’s of marketing, explained that the RDRS Safety Enhancements are Harley-Davidson technology aimed at making motorcycling more natural. “Our goal is to assist riders of all ability levels if electronic intervention reacts faster and precisely than our reflexes can react. If an RDRS Safety Enhancement is activated in a scenario when it is needed, this technology might prove to be useful.”
RDRS Safety Improvements are standard on all 2021 CVOTM, Tri Glide Ultra, Freewheeler, and LiveWire versions of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. In the United States, RDRS Safety Enhancements are available as an option on all 2021 touring models. Except where stated, all of the RDRS Safety Enhancements are grouped.
The road/tire interface determines the amount of available traction. Motorbike RDRS Safety Enhancements can only change brake pressure or engine torque to minimize forces at the tire from exceeding available grip. When the rider has not applied the brake or throttle, these technologies cannot improve grip. Not all motorbike RDRS Safety Enhancements can affect vehicle direction. RDRS Safety Enhancements and automobile stability control are pretty different in this regard. Speed, steering, and course adjustments are all tasks that the rider must complete.
Cornering Enhanced Electronic Linked Braking (C-ELB)
When the rider utilizes the hand lever (for the front) or a foot pedal (for the rear) brake control, this technology transfers braking force to both wheels, which can assist many riders in improving their braking ability. Regarding braking, the C-ELB system is far more sensitive and allows for better front-to-back balance across various conditions. When the rider does heavy braking, the technology delivers more linking and decreases or eliminates linking at low speeds. Dynamic braking may be applied to the rear wheels by pressing the front brake pedal. When you just use the rear brake pedal, the system will apply some braking force to the left front caliper as well. The lateral acceleration of a strike or a motorbike is taken into consideration by C-ELB. For example, C-ELB will vary the proportioning of front and rear brake pressure to increase the bike’s ability to maintain a rider’s chosen route when cornering.
