The Kawasaki 2020 Vulcan S Cruisers has the same low-slot as a large-bore Vulcan® cruiser, but with the power and handling derived from the Ninja, as well as the famous ERGO-FITTM shaping system, aimed at comfort for a variety of riders. The Kawasaki Vulcan S Cruiser returns to 2020 with Kawasaki’s user-friendly and customized ERGO-FIT, which allows for a total of 18 combination changes by modifying motorcycle seats, foot packs, and handlebars. It enables three seat options, three different foot peg placement options, and two variable reach handlebars for increased comfort and riding space.
The Kawasaki 2020 Vulcan S Cruisers was built to stand out with its exceptional engine, chassis, suspension, and unconventional cruiser shape. It was also intended to provide a high fit and comfort to help impress the rider’s confidence, making the Vulcan S especially attractive for beginner riders.
But the S is not your typical cruiser. It is distinguished by its parallel-twin engines, unique chassis and suspension configuration, and exotic appearance. The Vulcan S unlike any other cruiser, is designed to accommodate a wide range of riders. This bike takes comfort, adaptability and the power and performance gained from Ninja® to the next level without sacrificing its aesthetic features.
Furthermore, the Vulcan S is the lightest weight of any motorbike in its class (relative displacement two-cylinder cruiser), and we all know what that means – better talent, faster, easier stopping, Sharp turns, and smooth suspension action.
The Vulcan S, unlike any other cruiser, is designed to take riders fast in an athletic setting. Combining the classic design and the fast ride with the powerful 649cc engine, this bike pushes any experience into high gear. The Vulcan S provides reliable performance on every ride, whether going to work or taking a day off.
Kawasaki 2020 Vulcan S Cruisers – Features and Price
Smooth and powerful engine with effortless control. The seat height is too low—Three-position ERGO-FITTM foot pegs. Unique styling with a modern Flare Argo-Fatum handlebar and seats allows for more ergonomic tuning. 2-tone paint VULCAN® S ABS SE aids. Wind deflector two-tone paint added to Vulcan® S Cafe.
Engine
DOHC, 8-valve, with liquid-cooled 649cc parallel-twin fuel injection, produces smooth, responsive performance, especially at low and medium rpm. The engine based on the Ninja® 650 has been redesigned for power features for more riders, giving beginner riders more confidence. The Vulcan S provides smooth speed and a pleasant moment while being faster than paused. Helpful in merging and passing high-speed highways.
Intake ports, camshaft profiles, and long-type intake funnels contribute to smooth speed and pleasant moment sensation. The crankshaft design of the Ninja 650 includes a large flywheel mass.
The design of the under-engine muffler adds high torque in the low to the mid-RPM band, which helps handle the engine at low speeds. The parallel-twin engine is small and helps keep the overall proportions of the motorbike modest and agile.
The 180-degree crankshaft and balance shaft make the engine run smoothly. The engine is tiny from front to rear due to the triangular crank and the transmission shaft configuration. A semi-dry sump (KP) oil system reduces the total height of the engine. And the slight pitch of the chrome composite (KP) plated aluminum cylinder helps to reduce the engine width.
The engine configuration gives the cruiser a very different look than a standard cruiser. The cylinder head can be compared to the Finn air-cooled pins, which gives it an aggressive shape. The cruiser-style appearance is complemented by a slim radiator design.
The excellent design of the Vulcan S is aided by the beautiful curves of the exhaust pipes and the under-engine muffler system. Thanks to the dual-wall exhaust pipe design, the shape of the header pipes is thicker, which gives them a more robust image.
Positive Neutral Finder (KP)
At one stop, shift pedals above the first gear to select neutral. It is just a Kawasaki item.
Digital Fuel Injection (KP)
Fuel injection settings contribute to the rapid recovery of the engine by providing a smooth low-end response.
Sub-throttle valves (KP) are used in dual 38mm Keihin throttle bodies for maximum power output and smooth, sensitive throttle response. The ECU controls the sub-throttle behind the main throttle valves to ensure a smooth throttle response in the EFI system. Emissions are significantly reduced when the exact fuel injection is combined with the exhaust catalyzer.
Frame
Due to the small engine, a slim, minimal frame can be used, resulting in a tight design at the knees and ankles.
The frame’s rigidity was improved using 3D analysis, resulting in better handling features. For strength and lightness, it is made of high tensile steel. Due to the design of the offset single-shock rear suspension, the battery can be placed side by side instead of under the shock. This attractive design allows for low seat height and slim shape.
The exhaust is kept as close to the engine as possible, allowing a thin chassis and unlimited access to the ground.
The low weight and low center of gravity of the Vulcan S make it highly active, whether you are riding, pushing from the parking lot, or riding a motorcycle. Thanks to the thin backbone-style rear frame construction, all components can be placed close to the bike’s centerline. Instead of seat rails, a single beam made of intersecting C-section components is used. The sleek shape allows for a more comfortable setting.
Suspension
Ride comfort is preferred in both front and rear suspension settings. Offset Le Down Single Shock Rear Suspension allows for a longer stroke and better riding comfort. The compact shape of the motorcycle is supported by the rear suspension configuration, which provides space for a large-volume silencer under the engine. The preload on the rear shock can be adjusted in seven ways to suit the rider’s size and payload.
Brakes
A two-piston caliper grips a large 300mm front disc, while a single-piston caliper grabs a 250mm rear disc. The brakes have a lot of stopping power.
One of the most important factors when buying a motorcycle is how comfortable you feel, especially if you are a beginner. The Vulcan S was designed with a wide range of riders, from short to long. Adjustable foot pegs and levers, as well as various auxiliary components, provide a comfortable riding posture that allows users to customize their bikes to suit their sizes and preferences.
Styling Elements
The petrol tank is designed in the form of a teardrop, which makes it feel like a cruiser.
The purpose of the rear fender is to hug the steering wheel as tightly as possible, giving the motorcycle the appearance of a small cruiser. Offset late down rear shock helped make the design workable. The current shape of the bike is better than the LED taillights, which contribute to the compact tail design of the bike.
The low rear fender design has been extended from a single seat. The radiator shroud, cylinder head cover, and swingarm pivot cover have metal trim supporting a high-quality shape.
Frame
The uniqueness of the Vulcan S is explained by its beautiful pipe perimeter frame. Instead of covering the structure, the bodywork of the motorcycle emphasizes it.
The frame, rear suspension, and swingarm are designed to form a continuous line from the front of the bike to the back center. The rear single shock offset lay down suspension is a distinctive stylistic element contributing to the trend-setting design.
The D-shaped cross-section of the swing arm gives it a pipe-like appearance that completes the frame and enhances the overall high-quality appearance.
Comfort
The seat has enough cushioning to provide a large area and good hip support for city rides and short trips. To reduce vibration transmitted through the seat, a rubber is attached to the seat bracket.
Foot pegs are placed for foot forward control, resulting in a comfortable cruiser ride. To reduce the vibration transmitted by the handle grip, the handlebar is fitted with rubber. To further reduce the vibration, the rider’s footpegs are attached with rubber.
ERGO-Fitâ„¢ adjustability
The position of the foot pegs can be changed to one of three options: middle reach, one inch forward, or one inch back. (If you want to change the position to standard, you will need other shift linkage rods, which are provided separately). The Ergo-FitTM quick access auxiliary handle brings the grip of the bar handle 1.7 inches closer to the rider.
The low access keeps the rider close to the tank and controls the smaller riders; the middle reach puts the rider in a more comfortable position for the average-sized rider. The farther the rider from the tank, the more distant the access—controls to adjust position and taller riders. The brakes and clutch lever can be adjusted according to the rider’s preference and hand size.
Slim Chassis Design
With a low 27.8-inch seat height, riders can easily keep their feet on the ground when standing, which is one of the essential criteria for feeling comfortable on a motorcycle.
