The new Ducati 2020 Scrambler Desert Sled Bike belongs to the deserts and mountains of California. It is a modern spin on off-road motorcycles that made American history in the 1960s and 1970s. Desert Slades were American-made bikes that first appeared in Southern California and Baja California, Mexico, in the 1960s and 1970s. These were off-road motorbikes with more than 500 cm3 engines stripped of all unnecessary features. They were equipped with off-road tires and spoke wheels, as well as a reusable suspension system and engine skid pan. The Desert Sled got its name from the engine skid pan, protecting the motorcycle from pebbles, rocks and harsh desert environments.
Over time, these motorcycles developed a motorcycle category of their own: no comparison was seen before their introduction. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled enlivens this energy – while adhering to the Scrambler Lifestyle principles, this bike is excellent for those who want to get off the asphalt and walk the less-traveled route, especially the red frame. Thanks to the swing arm, fork yoke, suspension, spoke wheel (front 19 ′) and ground-breaking lines, type-approved headlamp mesh guards, and high mid guards (specially made for this variant). Of course, the engine’s skid pan reflects the off-road capability of the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled.
The scrambler has a distinctive riding posture thanks to the liner seat that maintains a height of 860 mm (a 20mm lower version is available as an alternative), adjustable cabana suspension with 200mm travel ( 46mm fork diameter), and rubber pads capable of replacing off-road style footpegs. Passenger pegs, which are separated from the rider, can be separated.
Desert Sled also has an off-road riding mode that allows ABS to be disconnected. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled has black codes on the spokes and measures 19 “at the front and 17” at the rear. They have Pirelli SCORPIONTM RALLY STR tires on the front, 120/70 R 19 M / C 60V M + S TL in the rear, and 170/60 R 17 M / C 72V M + S TL on the front. ScorpionTM Rally STR offers a kind of combination of tire off-road and enduro street performances.
