Engine
An all-new Super Tenere ES 2022 Yamaha Adventure Touring Bike has a liquid-cooled 1199cc parallel-twin engine has a 270-degree cross-plane crankshaft for better traction. It’s almost like with a big-bore thumper but without the jarring vibrations. The Super Ténéré ES is surprisingly thin, thanks to a side-attached radiator and a dry-sump oil supply inside the crankcase that enhances ground clearance and protects it from rocks and debris.
The brand new 12-hole Downdraft twin bore fuel injection system is designed for on- or off-road excursions and is equally at home in the city on long lengths of open highways. By controlling ignition timing, fuel injection volume and throttle valve opening based on rear wheel spin, proven YCC-T fly-by-wire technology allows a sophisticated traction control system. To adapt to the conditions and the rider’s preferences, three unique rider-selected modes are available. The new YCC-T is used to power the cruise control system on the Super Ténéré ES.
To make long-distance touring on the highway easier, the rider can quickly pick or alter a predetermined pace. The Yamaha D-Mode throttle comes with two response settings: “T-mode” for Touring and general riding, which provides a softer reaction and “S-mode” for Sport riding which provides the maximum performance. Gear ratios are suited for everything from slow dirt roads to high-speed riding in a wide-ratio six-speed system. The ideal blend of strength and flexibility is achieved by using the main steel frame that can help to absorb jolts from uneven road surfaces. The new Unified Brake System (UBS) and the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) operate together to help prevent wheel lock during braking. This technique allows the rider to use both the front and rear brakes by merely pushing the front brake lever which is very useful when standing on the pegs. When its rear brake is applied first, UBS is bypassed and traditional front and rear brake control is provided.
The windscreen and seat height are both adjustable on the Super Ténéré ES. In the high position, one inch of seat height adjustment provides a smaller size for shorter riders or a roomier riding position for larger riders. At the same time, the windscreen may be moved vertically 2.3 inches without tools. The Yamaha gave special attention to detail in the fluted footpegs. Rubber cushions provide good comfort for the rider while seated. The rubber compresses when the rider stands to tackle more complex riding circumstances that allow the rider’s boots to touch the metal foot peg surface.
Additional Features
An all-new Super Tenere ES 2022 Yamaha Adventure Touring Bike has three possible configurations for the optional flexible luggage system baseline with no top case or side bags, entire case installed, or side cases installed. These extras which are part of the bike’s design, add to the Super Ténéré ES’s appearance. Brush guards wrap around the handlebar and are affixed to a robust rubber-mounted handlebar as standard. The motorcycle is suitable for maximum parking convenience on both sides, and center stands are available.
