“Dominant” doesn’t do Honda’s record justice when it comes to Baja motorcycle racing. Honda has won the famed Baja 1000 twenty-two times in the previous 23 years, including this year’s emphatic victory by SLR Honda, and thirteen of those triumphs were achieved with the CRF450X. Due to its year-round off-road legality in all 50 states, the 2021 CRF450X Honda Powerful Dirt Bike is an excellent trail bike as well. While it may not be as rough as a dirt bike with equipment like a side stand or an 18-inch rear tire, it’s more than capable of traversing rough terrain.
When making concessions in life, the Honda CRF450X is your best bet. We’ve taken our CRF450R motocrosser’s small weight, quick handling, and cutting-edge performance and transformed it into an excellent off-road vehicle. For the hardcore off-road rider, we believe that the CRF450X is now even better. Off-roaders receive a famous engine, a 6-speed transmission, aluminum chassis, electronic starter, and long-travel suspension in this package deal. There are also redesigned handguards and a sleek new graphics and aesthetic package this year. This motorcycle is used by professional and amateur racers on the Baja Peninsula to reach the top of the podium. Your weekends will be transformed into your little stage performances as a result of this habit, too.
2021 CRF450X Honda Powerful Dirt Bike – Features and Price
Engine/Drivetrain
The brand new 449.7 cubic centimeters of Unicam® engine is specifically designed for off-road riding. As a result, the finger rocker arm contributes to a compact layout, while its specific design provides off-road-appropriate performance characteristics. Friction may be reduced by applying a DLC coating to the surface. Valve timing for precise power delivery in challenging riding situations.
More tractable power delivery than the CRF450R’s predecessor, thanks to increased crank inertia of 12 percent. The compression ratio is 12.0:1. Piston with a three-ring design. A six-speed gearbox with a broad range of gears can handle a wide range of off-road terrain. Durability is ensured by the use of high-strength materials in its construction.
The light lever pull is made possible by a unique clutch design. Engine torque variations are suppressed for smooth operation by the primary damper system, which uses friction springs. Off-road solid performance may be achieved with large radiators with good heat exchange efficiency.
ECU with Dedicated Settings
An exhaust system with improved pipe length and diameter for excellent responsiveness at low rpms was created.
Chassis/Suspension
Trail-ready aluminum twin-spar frame with a low center of gravity and plenty of stiffness. Specialized Showa fork for challenging terrain, measuring 49 millimeters in diameter. CRF450R-inspired front brake with off-road-specific master cylinder and hose for better-stopping power off-road.
With a higher capacity than the CRF450R, this compact lithium-ion battery powers LED lights. The damper system on the front and rear sprockets ensure a quiet, smooth ride. When the motorcycle is turned on its side, the fuel tank cap’s shut-off valve prevents petrol from leaking out. On the left side of the dirt bike’s frame is an electrical component box that is easily accessible—a red pad on a grey metallic Renthal handlebar Handlebar switches that are small and low in weight.
Furthermore, washing and abrasion do not affect in-mold graphics since they are waterproof. Fork guards are designed to protect the forks from harm during off-road rides. Many situations may be handled with Dunlop MX52 tires, which have a good grip and feel.
Engineering
The CRF450X’s six-speed gearbox, compared to an MX bike’s customary five, provides you with additional options, making this versatile bike even more adaptable. For anything from east coast rock crawling to wide-open Baja blasts, you’ve got the right gear.
Lithium-Ion Battery
Like the CRF450X, this helmet is small, light, and packed with features. Unlike standard batteries, which may be cumbersome, this high-end model is light. Because of this, your new CRF450X can accomplish so well.
Tuned-Weight Crank
The CRF450R and CRF450L MX motorcycles, the CRF450X receives its special crankshaft. Why? The weight and inertia of a bike’s cranks significantly impact how much power it can produce. Cranks are pricey, but here isn’t the place to cut corners and attempt to save money—the power delivery on the CRF450X is perfect.
The CRF450X’s two radiators have a streamlined core area for better heat dissipation than standard dual-radiator designs. The coolant recovery tank is situated in front of the engine between the frame’s downtubes and is covered by a plastic skid plate.
Titanium Fuel Tank
The CRF450X’s lightweight and durable, superior titanium tank holds 2.0 gallons.
Skid Plate
While the factory skid plate on the CRF450X is small and elegant, it provides severe riders with the engine and lower-frame protection they expect from a bike of this caliber.
Lighting Package
For nighttime riding on your CRF450X, you’ll get a headlight and a taillight.
Convenience
A trouble-free start is always a benefit of an electric start system. The clutch side of the crankshaft is also driven by the electric starter, resulting in a compact engine with a short, robust crank and better lubrication for the beginning gears.
Performance
With the Unicam® cylinder heads from Honda, you get the best of both worlds. Compared to a similar dual-overhead-camshaft engine, the layout adds to a compact engine that saves weight and provides a narrow included valve angle. Compression ratios may be increased due to this since the combustion chamber is made flat. For a more compact engine and a lower center of gravity, camshaft placement is lower in the cylinder head since less space is used up.
Titanium Intake and Exhaust Valves
Using lighter titanium intake and exhaust valves reduces the total height of the engine.
Fuel Injection
The CRF450X is equipped with a fuel injection technology that has been tested and validated. CRF450X has good torque and reactivity in the critical low-rpm region. It also takes into account variations in height and weather conditions automatically.
Handling
The aluminum twin-spar chassis of the CRF450X incorporates all we’ve learned on the MX circuit and through several Baja victories. As a result, the CRF450X’s superb handling may be attributed to its lightweight and robust frame. To accommodate the six-speed gearbox, the chassis is broader than a typical MX frame.
Dunlop MX52 Tires
The off-road grip on a broad range of terrain and situations is provided by the CRF450X’s Dunlop MX52 tires, which are standard equipment on the machine. Off-road and on-road bikes need tires, and we’ve got some terrific ones for you here.
Low Center of Gravity
The CRF450X’s center of gravity is kept low by the tiny Unicam engine and Honda’s well-known focus on center-of-mass engineering. As a result, the bike feels lighter and more responsive.
Works-Style Front Brake
There is less unsprung weight for better handling and turning thanks to the 260 mm front disc and twin-piston anodized-aluminum brake pistons.
To avoid needing additional reservoir and pipe, the 240mm brake rotor and integrated rear master-cylinder in the HRC works-type rear brake system are connected directly to the fluid reservoir.
18-Inch Rear Wheel
The wide range of off-road tires available for the CRF450X’s 18-inch rear wheel is impressive. In addition, the DID black rims look fantastic.
Comfort
We heeded your request. Factory handguards are now included as standard equipment on the 2021 CRF450X. Protect yourself from rocks, branches, thorns, and bushes by wearing these special off-road motorcycle helmets. Your CRF450X will have a more polished appearance from the moment you purchase it.
Gear-Driven Counterbalancer
The water pump is driven by a gear-driven counterbalancer, which dampens vibrations. The eight clutch plates offer the surface area required to manage the engine’s tremendous torque, while precisely calibrated clutch springs create a light feel at the lever.
New Works Mx Styling
We redesigned the CRF450X’s appearance and visuals for 2021 to make them even more razor-sharp. You can tell it’s an homage to our MX motorcycles because of their sleek bodywork and in-mold graphics, which not only look fantastic but are also quite durable.
Superior Ergonomics
The best position for the rider’s legs is at the narrowest point of the frame.
Sidestand
For those who doubt the significance of the CRF450X’s side stand: here it is. One another example of the CRF450X doing things right: a forged alloy component tucked up and out of the way.
Fuel Mileage Meter
The Fuel Mileage Meter is a valuable tool for keeping track of your bike’s current and average petrol mileage, as well as how much fuel you’ve used so far. This setting applies to both the A and B trip meters and may be set to show distance in either miles or kilometers. As with the speedometer, the odometer, trip meters, and the digital clock, the Fuel Mileage Meter is located on the same digital instrument display.
