When BMW Motorrad unveiled the R nineT in 2013, it was more than simply a roadster based on a classic design: it blended traditional motorcycle design with current technology from the start, as well as exceptional artistry and a large variety of customizing choices. Shortly after, the 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle found appealing variations in the BMW Motorrad Heritage world of experience: the BMW R nineT Urban G/S as an enduro with the genes of the iconic R 80 G/S of 1980, the BMW R nineT Scrambler as a tribute to this particular motorcycle genre for people who enjoy a pure, reduced, and non-conformist style, and the BMW R nineT Pure as a roadster condensed to the bare necessities.
BMW Motorrad has made specific technological changes to the 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle for the forthcoming 2021 season, as well as dramatically expanding the choice of standard and optional equipment.
2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Boxer Engine
The boxer engine has been fine-tuned technically and visually for use in the new 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle and is now intended to fulfill the standards of the EU-5 pollution class. The peak torque is still 116 Nm at 6000 rpm, while the peak power output is now 80kW (109hp) at 7250 rpm (formerly 81 kW (110 hp) at 7750 rpm).
Newly designed cylinder heads enable a more seamless transition from the outer to the inner cooling fins, while new throttle valve components and cylinder head cover to enhance the bike’s visual appeal.
A new turbulence system swirls the mixture within the cylinder heads, ensuring even better and cleaner combustion and excellent performance. Pulling power levels are now demonstrably better than the predecessor’s, thanks to a more concentrated power and torque curve – notably in the region between 4000 and 6000 rpm.
ABS Pro Including DBC – Dynamic Brake Control
The new 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle now come standard with ABS Pro and DBC (Dynamic Brake Control) for better braking safety – both at banking angles and in harsh conditions.
A redesigned shock absorber with travel-dependent damping (WAD) is also standard, improving suspension comfort and easy spring preload adjustment through a handwheel. Riding modes such as “Rain” and “Road” are now featured as standard.
Classic Circular Instrument
A circular instrument with a newly designed dial showing the BMW emblem, as well as the new indicator lights that are “invisible” when not lighted, are standard on R nineT versions. The new 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle are equipped with an LED headlight and white indicator lights as standard. A USB charging port is added to the new 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle’ extensive list of standard features.
Innovation Technology
The new 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle from BMW Motorrad have been greatly improved, both technically and cosmetically. Riding Modes Pro with the extra modes “Dyna” for the BMW R nineT and BMW R nineT Pure and “Dirt” for the BMW R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G/S, as well as DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and engine drag torque control, are now available as new individual options, as are DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and engine drag torque control for the BMW R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G (MSR).
The Comfort Package that includes Riding Modes Pro, cruise control, and heated handlebar grips, is another new option. The rear silencer design choice and the turning light are new additions to the list of unique optional accessories.
Meanwhile, the standard “Option 719” provides incredibly distinctive and high-quality alternatives for personalizing the 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle to fit the owner’s preferences. This unique collection of components now includes wheels, milling parts packages, and a rear conversion with a short back end and number plate holder behind the rear wheel, as well as a rear-end tracker design, all from the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories catalog (Tracker rear end).
New standard and available paint treatments for the 2021 BMW R nineT Heritage Motorcycle complete the upgrades. The R nineT Urban G/S Edition 40 Years is particularly noteworthy in this regard. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the legendry BMW Motorrad GS family, this one-of-a-kind model is available in a color scheme reminiscent of the legendary R 100 GS.
