The CB300R ABS returns for 2020 in a new Pearl Blue color and delivers performance and lifestyle in equal measure with Honda’s Neo-Sports Café naked-bike styling. Compact, fuel-injected, four-valve DOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a straight-shot intake route and free-revving exhaust system measures 286cc. Unsprung weight is reduced because of the tapered-wall aluminum swingarm and aluminum wheels. With a floating 296mm front disc with a four-piston radial-mount Nissin caliper, a 220mm rear disc, and standard two-channel ABS with an IMU, the brakes operate pretty well. With its exposed, blacked-out hardware and dramatic cutaway tail, the machine’s hard-edged attitude is accentuated by its minimalist aesthetic, which centralizes weight for optimal chassis feel, performance, and balance. Full LED illumination (including a dual-bar headlight signature and Honda’s smallest taillight) completes the motorcycle’s design. The new Honda 2020 CBR300R Sports Bike is a delight to ride and a joy to own, including many of the luxury amenities found on its larger-capacity brothers.
Honda 2020 CBR300R Sports Bike – Features and Price
Design
The motorcycle’s blacked-out hardware is on view thanks to the styling’s purposeful minimalism. It’s also spotless, offering the naked-bike culture a hard-edged vibe. Even though the cutaway tail section is scarcely visible, it supports separate rider and passenger seats and the nylon rear mudguard mount. Aluminized foot-peg hangers for both the rider and the passenger have been used.
Displays for speed, engine rpm, fuel level, and shift light are shown on a tiny full-function LCD instrument panel that is also easy to read. There’s a luxury vibe that comes with full LED lighting, which includes turn indicators. Unlike previous Honda motorcycle taillights, which were thicker, this model’s taillight is ultra-thin and employs a dual-bar light signature with an upper for low beam and a lower for high beam. Family ties go deep since the gasoline tank has a similar design to the CB1000R’s.
Chassis/Suspension
The Honda 2020 CBR300R Sports Bike’s frame is made of high-tensile steel tubing and pressed steel, with the steel pivot plate insulated from the mainframe, reinforcing its minimalist form and drawing on the same Neo-Sports Café concept as the CB1000R. It was possible to utilize thinner steel tubing, and steel sheet in this design since the primary frame between the head and seat rail is not subjected to the same stresses as the rear wheel. The primary frame is both strong and light at the same time. In terms of stiffness and performance, the swingarm is similar, with a thicker cross member but a tapering wall thickness toward the hollow rear axle for optimal flexibility. The bike’s agile handling is aided by lightweight aluminum wheels that share the same design as the rest of the CB range.
A 41mm inverted fork with a flexible spring rate and responsive damping is reduced to a single shock with a seven-step preload adjustment for springs. Positive front-end grip and simple steering can be achieved with a 49.6/50.4 front/rear weight bias thanks to the low 317-pound wet weight and 53.3-inch wheelbase. There is a 31.5-inch difference between the seat and the floor.
The 296mm floating front brake rotor and radial-mount Nissin four-piston caliper provide stopping power, while the 220mm rear disc and single-piston caliper pair provide stopping power. To provide exact front-to-rear ABS operation allocation based on vehicle behavior, two-channel ABS modulates both brakes using an inertial measurement unit (IMU). Rear 150/60R-17 Dunlop radial tires and front 110/70R-17 Dunlop tires are standard.
Many of the vehicle’s heavier components (such as the engine, muffler, rear shock, battery, and ABS modules) are positioned to give an optimal center of gravity to assist in its agile handling.
Engine
With its small 286cc DOHC four-valve, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine (shared with the CBR300R), the Honda 2020 CBR300R Sports Bike’s free-revving, the snappy character has gained many admirers. So even though it has an exhilarating revving style, this engine functions well in real-world road-riding situations throughout the town and on the highway.
To achieve a compression ratio of 10.7:1, the bore and stroke have been set at 76x63mm. With a 38mm throttle bore and straight-shot intake route, PGM-FI fuel injection produces precise throttle response across the rpm range. There is less air resistance because of the underslung exhaust system, which has a dual-chamber muffler on the right side.
As a result, the engine is intended to have the fewest moving components possible. Low-friction piston rings, a high-density core radiator, and an iridium spark plug improve fuel economy. Initial acceleration has been enhanced by 4% due to the weight-saving measures and the redesigned intake architecture.
