The engineers have used the latest technology that independently varies the timing of the camshaft, which controls the intake valves, and the new camshaft controls the exhaust valves. The DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) optimizes the high-rpm performance to deliver maximum power. The low-to-medium rpm ensures smooth operations that provide instant power delivery. The engine fully complies with the Euro 4 specifications and gives good fuel economy.

The engine comes with the 1262cc displacement that sets the new benchmark for rideability and performance. Chassis

The chassis of the 2018 Multistrada 1260 includes the new frame and longer swingarm. The steering angle has been increased from 24 to 25 degrees, which the new swingarm is 48 mm longer. The new single-sided swingarm is a single die-cast part with a fabricated and welded core section, and it offers a hollow and robust component that contributes to the handling.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 features the Kayaba 48 mm upside-down fork with the dedicated cast bottom bracket, fully adjustable for spring preload, rebound, and compression. The rear section is controlled by the Sachs mono-shock which is fully adjustable in compression and rebound with spring preload-adjustable by using a handy remote manual adjuster. The spring works progressively offering the ultimate level of comfort during the ride.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 features the Sachs 48 mm of the front fork. Sachs makes the rear shock absorber while the semi-active suspension system front and brake are monitored by the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system. Furthermore, compression and rebound adjustment of the hydraulic damper and rear spring preload The semi-active system exerts continuous control to maintain the perfect balance of the motorcycle.
