The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R KRT 2018 Sports Bike is one of the best and a mighty sports bikes. The motorcycle has been developed by keeping the highest circuit performance by offering the rider more power and more control. The overall design allows the rider to experience the thrill riding pleasure. The ZX-10R is developed from the feedback received from the team World Superbike Championship-winning Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT). The Kawasaki Racing Team and Kawasaki factory in Japan are working in collaboration to develop the new Ninja ZX-10R. The bike is tested and approved by the World Champion’s Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes.
The 2018 Ninja ZX-10R is available with ABS as standard equipped, and it comes in Metallic Matte Fusion Silver/ Metallic Flat Spark Black. The Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) inspired color and graphics package is also available in Lime Green/ Metallic/ Ebony Graphite Gray. Following is the full review of ZX-10R with its price and specifications.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R KRT 2018 Sports Bike – Features and Price
Engine Features
The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes with the powerful 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-cylinder, and liquid-cooled 998cc engine. It has got an all-new ram air duct, which is positioned close to the front section. The large 10-liter of airbox helps in getting better engine response and low-mid range power for enhanced acceleration. The new resonator chamber built-in frame spare helps in reducing overall intake noise.
The motorcycle has advanced electronic throttle valves (ETV) of 47 mm that gives better precision to receive better engine response. It has got the new high-speed 32-bit ECU that offers accurate engine management, plus it is housed in an aluminum case for outstanding heat dissipation. The new titanium alloy provides better heat resistance than pure titanium, so the new exhaust system is thinner and lighter without sacrificing overall durability. The motorcycle has new 6-speed cassette transmission that helps in quick gear shifting experience. The dry-film lubricant coating on the transfer helps in reducing friction, so the gears easily slide into place for better shifting.
Chassis Features
The 2018 Ninja ZX-10R KRT comes with the durable aluminum twin-spar backbone frame, which has an optimized geometry for sharp circuit handling. The motorcycle has got the new steering head pipe position that helps weight the front end for optimum feel, feedback and flickability. All-cast aluminum construction requires fewer pieces that reduce overall weight and welds. The engine is attached in the frame with extreme care that helps in raising the center of gravity and placing more pressure on the front end. The bike is combined with the rake angle that helps in making the ZX-10R highly flickable side-to-side for outstanding performance.
The suspension system ensures the best smooth riding performance. The new Balance Free Fork (BFF) is complemented by Showa’s rear shock that helps in the delivery of the best return on the track.
The damping valves are now located outside of the fork cylinder so that the new hydraulic circuit does not generate any sort of pressure balance. The compression and rebound damping are generated and adjusted independently from each other. The valves are placed in the damping force chamber that helps in increasing the lubricating action of the fork piston. The external compression chamber is filled with pressurized nitrogen that applies force to the oil that helps in preserving balanced pressure inside the fork tube.
The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R provides the maximum comfort and high level of performance under braking while enhancing front-end feel. The new fully adjustable preload and compression and rebound damping enable the riders to fine-tune the suspension for a wide variety of conditions—the new Showa BFRC-Lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) Shock Absorber (KP). Just like the fork, damping valves are located outside the shock cylinder that helps in maintaining the balanced pressure. The linkage ratios provide a linear feel and it offers the full adjustment range.
The swingarm features the high rigidity to contribute to the agile handling, plus it helps in putting weight on the front wheel. The linkage is placed on the top of the swingarm to make room for the exhaust pre-chamber for better mass centralization. The rear shock is keep away from the exhaust so that its operation will not be affected by exhaust heat.
The braking system features the Race-Spec Brembo Brakes, including KIBS, for optimal braking performance. Similar systems have been used in Ninja H2 and the World Superbike race machine. The radially attached 4-piston front brake calipers while the front brake contains Brembo M50 cast monoblock calipers including four opposed 30 mm pistons that clamp on huge 330 mm Brembo disc for better braking force. The outer edges of the disc contain grooves down to the center of the outer edges to help in efficient heat dissipation.
Styling
The new Ninja ZX-10R KRT 2018 features an attractive design that always demands the other view. The upper cowl resembles the factory World Superbike machine that reduces drag and it offers optimum wind deflection so that the racer can easily change position smoothly at track speeds. The vents have been placed strategically in the upper cowl that helps in preventing negative pressure in the cockpit. The front fender helps indirect airflow to the radiator. The taillight design presents an aggressive image.
Electronics
The Ninja ZX-10R KRT comes with a number of the impressive electronic package, including;
- Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)(KP)
- Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC)(KP)
- Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM)(KP)
- Kawasaki Engine Brake Control
- Power Mode
- Electronic Steering Damper (ESD)
