The naked CB500F was initially launched in 2013, and it proved that Honda made one of the tried-and-tested formulas for making popular motorcycles without losing any meaning. In other words, the entertaining twin-cylinder engine wrapped in a simple, lightweight, and sporty chassis is both fun and rich riding experience for experienced riders. The compact size and enthusiastic demeanor of the Honda 2019 CB500F ABS Sports Motorcycle make it an excellent tool for learning. The reasonable running cost is ideal for commuting, but these same attributes make it a real pleasure for weekend outings.
Honda 2019 CB500F ABS Sports Motorcycle – Features and Price
Styling
For 2019, the bare fairing form of the Honda 2019 CB500F ABS Sports Motorcycle develops from front to back and exudes new aggressiveness. Guided by the design of the headlights, the machine’s attitude is low-key and immediate action can be taken. The side covers are interlocked with the fuel tank and fully protrude the engine, while the side covers and seat units continue the dominant angular theme.
The tapered handlebars increase the feel and leverage. The new LCD instrument has a gear and upshifts indicator; this setting is the default 8,750 rpm, but it can be adjusted in 250 rpm increments between 5,000 and 8,750 pm.
Chassis
The unchanged 35mm steel diamond tube main body is light and robust, and its yield can provide the best feedback to the rider according to the change of the road surface. The shape and position of the engine mount and the rigid balance of the frame can minimize vibration. The lightweight 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels use hollow cross-section Y-shaped spokes. A single front 320mm petal-shaped disc brake disc and two-piston brake calipers are matched with a 240mm rear brake disc and single-piston brake calipers.
The geometry provides a flexible but encouraging steering. The center of gravity is concentrated, and the engine is close to the pivot point of the rear swing arm to provide rotational flexibility, while the optimal front and rear weight distribution ensure stability. The low seat height of approximately 30.9 inches makes the CB500F easy to manage. The neutral riding position comfortably adapts to riders of different heights.
The 41mm preload-adjustable telescopic fork provides smooth and controllable driving performance and provides an excellent feeling for the front tire grip. The new single-tube rear shock (found on high-capacity sports bikes) replaces the two-tube design of the previous model. The large-diameter piston of this bike gives superb suspension response and temperature management. It has a nine-stage spring preload adjustment function and works through a rigid box-section steel swingarm and now has a pressed steel chain adjustment terminal.
Engine
CBR500R’s liquid-cooled, eight-valve, and the parallel twin-cylinder engine show the right balance in physical size and power production. It has dynamic, high-speed characteristics and excellent high-end performance. Having come out of the trough, the development goal for 2019 is to achieve faster acceleration by increasing the low and medium power and torque in the range of 3,000 to 7,000 rpm. The 4% improvement comes from the change in the intake valve timing. The six-speed gearbox is the same as the RR and uses the same shift arm structure and linkage mechanism. The new auxiliary/slip clutch for 2019 enables lighter upshifts and smoother downshifts.
At present, the air supply for PGM-FI fuel injection is almost directly from the airflow through the air tank and throttle body. The battery has been repositioned farther from the rear of the air intake box (1.7 inches vs. 0.5 inches) to allow for more excellent airflow. The exhaust muffler now has dual outlet pipes, adding a sense of movement to each pulse. The peak power reaches 8,500 rpm and the maximum torque reaches 7,000 rpm. The primary balancer is located behind the cylinder, close to the center of gravity of the bike. The main gear and balance gear use scissor gears to reduce noise.
The shape of the crank counterweight is particularly suitable for lightweight so that the engine can rotate freely and reduce inertia. As a pressure component, the driver is equipped with four frame hangers on the cylinder head to supplement the rigidity of the frame. Internally, the cylinder head uses a roller rocker arm. The gasket-type valve adjustment makes it lighter, thereby reducing the load on the valve spring and reducing friction. The pin surface of the silent cam chain is treated with vanadium to minimize friction and enhance wear resistance.
