2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle – Features and Price
Advanced Features
The YZF-R1 highlights a smooth and minimized driving rod, inline-four-chamber, 998cc high yield motor. It features a titanium brake-split connecting rod, which eliminates the cylinder block and magnesium closes. This car delivers extremely high horsepower and a steady pulse of torque for dramatic performance, all wrapped in an aerodynamic MotoGP-style body.
The 2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle started pioneering using the first six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) ever dedicated to road hazards. The IMU has a gyro sensor that measures climbing, rotation, and yaw, as well as a lift that automatically adds front-aft, top-down. By reading each signal, the IMU detects the actual vehicle position and movement, and reports it to its ECU, enabling it to control the reporting systems.
The YZF-R1 is fully equipped with bank-scalable Traction Control and integrated ABS, as well as Slide Control, Launch Control, and more. The faster Shift System offers higher and lower power efficiency, corresponding to the engine running at lower speed clutchless changes in either direction. The Wheelchair Lift Control system features a gentle push to the front-drive.
The front aluminum Deltabox furniture utilizes the engine as a compressed cylinder unit and is designed to provide optimum long, lateral, and torsional rigidity resistance. Properly positioned front and rear suspensions provide exceptional road-grip and durability.
Engine
The 998cc inline 4-cylinder, aerial crankshaft engine that features a titanium brake-split connecting rod, becomes the industry’s first auto manufacturer. The titanium alloy is used to make the connection lines around 60% lighter than steel, and this reduction in weight gives it an R1 engine that is responsive and powerful at high rpm. This unique engine delivers extremely high horsepower and a steady pulse of linear torque.
The 6-speed automatic displays near-average speed to match the high-revving engine. It also sends “reserves” for the insertion/removal shafts to tighten the mass and to keep the overall engine size short on the front, which enables the engine to be positioned in the form of significant weight.
The first rocker-arm valve activation uses the hand as a lever ratio to allow more massive valve lift while using the lower cam lobes and reduced fluid, which increases power. Lightweight magnesium blocks and Ultra-light aluminum suspension are applied to the engine to reduce weight further.
The 2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle is equipped with a dead system made primarily from weight titanium. The compact midship muffler also puts as much weight in the frame and as close to the fourth part of the machine as possible, adjusting the overall grip. Yamaha’s assist and slipper clutch are used to give the rider much more stability when cornering angrily, while still holding the torque of the R1’s up-and-coming inline-four cars.
Electronics
Yamaha’s inertial measurement unit (IMU) uses six measurement axes: a gyro sensor for pitch, roll, and yaw, and an accelerometer to measure acceleration in the front, back, up, down, and left and right directions… 125 per second the calculated rate.
The IMU communicates with the ECU to activate technologies in Yamaha’s driving control (YRC): power mode, traction control system, taxi control system, launch control system, lift control system, and fast shifting system with gear shift matching. All of these systems entirely are adjustable and can be saved in the four presets of the YRC system.
The wire-controlled Yamaha chip-controlled throttle (YCC-T) system senses the rider’s minimum throttle input, immediately calculates the ideal throttle opening, and then actuates the throttle to control the amount of intake air actively. 2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle also has YCC-I (Yamaha chip control air intake), a variable air intake system can expand the power distribution in the entire rpm range.
R1’s Traction Control System; can reduce the rotation of the rear wheels when leaving the curve and calculate the difference between the wheel speed and the tilt angle. As the angle of inclination increases, the amount of intervention also increases. Ten different settings (off and 1-9) enable the cyclist to enter the desired level of control accurately.
Yamaha’s sliding control system; is the first of its kind on mass-produced motorcycles, directly from the YZR-M1 MotoGP bike. It works in conjunction with the IMU, so if slip is detected when accelerating under stable tilt conditions, the ECU will intervene and control the engine power to reduce falls. The rider can also adjust through four settings (1-3 and off).
R1’s Lift Control System life; has a continuous mapping function that improves forward driving when the system intervenes. As before, the IMU detects the chassis pitch rate, and the ECU controls the engine power to decrease the front wheel lift during acceleration and makes four settings (1-3 and off) for fine-tuning. Power Transmission Mode (PWR) allows cyclists to choose from four settings for throttle response to best suit their preferences and riding conditions while adjusting engine response and total power.
The R1’s launch control system LCS; limits the engine speed to 10,000 rpm even with the throttle fully open. Combined with input from the TCS and LIF systems, it can maintain optimal engine output, thereby maximizing acceleration while standing. Three levels of adjustment effects (1-2 and off).
YZF-R1’s Quick Shift System QSS; has a downshift function and allows full-throttle upshift without the clutch. When downshifting, the ECU will match the engine speed every time downshifting, to shift gears instantly with minimal chassis damage. QSS can be adjusted through three settings (1-2 and off) and turning down the function on and off.
The 2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle has an excellent full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) meter, including front brake pressure and front and rear G-force readings, providing the rider with more feedback from the machine. It has street mode and tracking mode, which focuses on performance information, such as YRC settings, an enlarged view of the tachometer in the higher rpm range, a lap timer with the best lap and last lap, gear indicator and speed.
Chassis / Suspension
The new slim aluminum Deltabox frame and magnesium subframe help to achieve a light and compact chassis design and improve the overall geometry in the global arena. The rigid motor mount uses the engine as a stressed member of the frame to achieve the best balance of rigidity and excellent cornering performance on the track.
The 2019 YZF-R1 Yamaha Super Sports Motorcycle has an advanced inverted KYB front fork and a 43mm inner tube with a 4.7-inch stroke that is fully adjustable and has an incredible front-end feel on the track. All adjustments are made on top of the fork legs to simplify changes. Compared with the traditional aluminum alloy wheels, the 10-spoke cast magnesium wheel dramatically reduces the rotation quality and reduces the unsprung weight. So that the direction can be changed quickly, and the response is quick.
The new fully adjustable KYB shock absorber has a bottom rear link pivot position that is in the optimal position to provide excellent maneuverability and excellent transmission of engine torque to the track surface. The aluminum 4.5-gallon fuel tank weighs 3.5 pounds less than similar steel fuel tanks, further reducing the overall weight, and has been carefully crafted to allow the rider to connect to the machine easily.
The racing ABS and unified braking system developed by the track provides the best braking performance. UBS activates the rear brake of the R1 when the front brake is depressed, thereby distributing force according to the brake’s attitude and tilt angle, thus preventing unnecessary rear-end movement during braking. 4-piston radial-mounted front caliper rides on a 320mm rotor with excellent braking force.
Additional Features
The dynamic YZR-M1 styling creates a more compact shape and improves aerodynamic performance. Compared to any other motorcycle produced today, you can be closer to MotoGP. The new LED headlights are both light and compact, which simplifies the design of the front face. An all-new LED front turn signals are integrated into the rear view mirror to improve aerodynamic performance, while LED taillights are stylish and eye-catching.
Through the CCU, riders can communicate with the vehicle via Wi-Fi through Yamaha’s exclusive Y-TRAC smartphone and tablet application. The system consists up of a CCU and a GPS antenna. A data recorder can record operation data while the GPS manages the heading chart and automatic lap timing. This data can then be easily downloaded wirelessly to the Android or Apple iOS application and analyzed in it. The settings can be changed through the “Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) Settings” application, and then uploaded back to R1.
