Yamaha X-max 400 (YP400R): The missing link

At Yamaha, in fact the scooters are sold more. But in the Japanese range, between bestseller Yamaha X-max and TMAX, one does not find any more a maxi scooter intermediate, Yamaha Majesty 400 having disappeared. Which model could replace it? The Yamaha X-max 400 of course! Explanations

Yamaha X-max 400 (YP400R): The missing link

There are no more scooters with engine 400 Cm3 in the Yamaha range. Segment hitherto occupied by model YP 400 Majesty, this one to take its leave the last year. Admittedly, there remain still some models of the maximum-scooter GT in stock to be run out, of years 2011 equipped with ABS sold with the promotional rate of 6,340 €. However, between the X-max 250 sold 5,099 € and the displayed TMAX 530 with 10.699€, one will not find soon any more to commutate carrying high the logo with the three tuning forks.
However at Yamaha, with a X-max 125 n°1 of the sales of two-wheeled vehicle in France (6 441 units in 2012), touched the ground with the keel by a TMAX 530 (sold with 5,087 specimens), the scooter is a segment of the more high importance – the first Yamaha motorcycle of top 100 is the XJ6, sold with 3,489 specimens in 2012.
Then how to fill the vacuum left by the disappearance of the last evolution of Yamaha Majesty 400, scooter which, it should well be admitted, did not really meet in Europe the success discounted by the Japanese constructor? The track of the scooter sporting WP of rolled average seems most relevant. Explanations

Frame sport and engine of Majesty 400

The French market is fond of delicacies of scooter GT. Hexagonal characteristic; we appreciate these machines high-ends for their great throw weight, their remarkable protection and their performances of first order. With a X-max 125 cornering the first place of the tricolor podium from its exit and a model 250 whose sales figures are far from being ridiculous (in 2012, with 777 units it is the 4th sale scooter of more than 125 Cm3), the appearance of a Yamaha X-max 400 Cm3 appears completely relevant to us. The maximum one would recover one-cylinder fire Majesty 400, developing the maximum power of 34 horses.

This engine would then come to be placed in a more sporting frame and a part cycles more rigorous than that of Majesty 400, perfectible from this point of view.
Calculations, but not that! Indeed, according to our information, Yamaha would be in the train of floor on a model intermediate GT Sport between the X-max and the TMAX, with a placement price precisely “pile hair” between the two. This model will it arrive in 2013? We at least do not have other information on this subject… for the moment. Then, remain connected!
