2018 Ninja ZX-10R ABS Kawasaki Powerful Sports Motorcycle – Features and Price
Electronics
Kawasaki always focuses on the quality and ensure that their products come with the highest level of technological advancement. The Ninja ZX-10R features the cutting-edge electronics that provide fantastic results on tracks while the ECU provides an accurate real-time picture of chassis activity using updated software. By using the latest version of Bosch IMU and Kawasaki’s proprietary dynamic modeling software, the Kawasaki 2018 Ninja ZX-10R’s electronic management technology assists the racer’s experience to its full potential.
The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) measures inertial in five different axes while the yaw rate is calculated by ECU using Kawasaki’s patented software that offers a six-axis chassis attitude. By using the IMU, the S-KTRC incorporates abundant feedback that helps to maximum acceleration while entering and exiting corners. Due to the information received from IMU, the launch control system is highly advanced. Moreover, the IMU enables KIBS-equipped models to utilize the Corner Management function efficiently.
The Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC) comes as standard in the bike. The racers can now choose from five modes including OFF to set the S-KTRC to achieve outstanding performance on the track. This system helps in gaining more acceleration out of corners on the road by allowing power slides and power lifts as long as forwarding acceleration is maintained. It also distinguishes between torque lift, which is smooth and allowed if acceptable acceleration is supported. With the help of complex analysis, the system can easily calculate when traction conditions are about to become unfavorable. Furthermore, it makes small adjustments to keep the power spikes at the minimum level.
Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM) is designed primarily to assist the racer in optimizing acceleration when launching from the standstill on track. The KLCM electronically controls engine output to optimize acceleration on the starts that helps in reducing wheel spin and front end lift. The rider can choose from three entirely different modes and each mode offers a higher level of intervention. The Kawasaki Engine Brake Control (KEBC) system helps the passenger to select the amount of engine braking he refers to. When the system is being activated, the engine braking effect is reduced to ensure smoother cornering on track.
The Power Mode allows the rider to choose from three different power options i.e. Full Power, Mid Power and Low Power and it works independently from S-KTRC. On the other hand, the corner management system uses both KIBS and S-KTRC to assist racers in tracking their intended line through a corner on the track by suppressing the tendency for the bike to stand up while applying the brake in turn. The new IMU system helps in maintaining optimum hydraulic pressure based on the bike’s lean and pitch angles.
The Ninja ZX-10R contains Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake system (KIBS) that offers smooth feedback for extra braking confidence. Moreover, the engine ECU communicates with the ABS EUC to intervene in brake pressure. The Electronic Steering Damper comes as standard in Ninja ZX-10R ABS. The new Ram Air Intake is positioned closer to the front of the bike for better airbox filling efficiency. The new digital fuel injection of 47 mm features an electronic throttle valve (ETV) that gives high precision to offer smooth engine response on the track.
Gear Ratios
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R ABS features the six-speed cassette transmission that features the non-contact, potentiometer-type sensor quick shifter to facilitate seamless acceleration. The gear ratios help it offers strong acceleration for both circuit use and city rides. The dry-film lubricant coating on transmission gears reduces friction that helps in sliding gears into easily for quick shifting.
Chassis Features
The 2018 Ninja ZX-10R ABS Kawasaki Powerful Sports Bikes features titanium alloy that gives better heat resistance than pure titanium so that the exhaust system can be made thinner and lighter. The header pipe diameter and length are kept similar to the race-use headers that make it easy to increase the circuit performance by adding competition-use only slip-on muffler. An all-new and fully optimized geometry helps in sharp circuit handling. Furthermore, the steering head pipe position helps weight the front end for better feel and feedback with clickability.
An all-new and fully cast aluminum construction needs a few pieces that reduce weight and welds—the direct line from head pipe to the swingarm pivot for excellent cornering performance. The engine of Ninja ZX-10R is attached strategically in the frame that helps in raising the overall enter of gravity and place more weight on the front end. It is combined with a rake angle that helps in making the bike highly clickable side-to-die for higher cornering performance.
The suspension system of the Kawasaki Ninja has been developed in collaboration with the World Superbike Championship, the Balance Free Fork (BFF) that is complemented by Showa’s latest rear shock, the Balance Free Rear Cushion (BRFC) to offer the best performance of all times. The damping valves are positioned outside of the fork cylinder so that the hydraulic circuit does not generate pressure balance fluctuations. The compression and rebound are caused and adjusted entirely independently from each other. The swingarm features the high rigidity that helps in nimble handling plus it put weight to the front. The linkage is placed atop swingarm that makes room for the exhaust pre-chamber for better mass centralization. The new rear shock is further away from the exhaust so that its operation will not be affected by exhaust heat.
The braking system features the race-spec Bremo Brakes, which is similar to the one used in Kawasaki Ninja H2 and some other World Super Bike machines. The system features radially attached 4-piston front brake calipers. The front brakes contain Brembo M50 cast monoblock calipers with four opposed 30 mm piston that clamp on huge 330 mm Brembo disc for better braking force. The outer edges of the discs contain groves down the center that helps in the dissipation of heat. The Brembo radial-pump master cylinder and reservoir are calibrated to require little lever movement in achieving a positive front brake force. The stainless steel braided brake lines provide a direct feel. The KIBS helps in offering smooth feedback and minimal lever movement for added braking confidence on the circuit.
Styling
The upper cowl of Ninja ZX-10R resembles the factory World Superbike machine and it reduces drag. It gives perfect wind deflection so that the racer can change the position more smoothly at the track. The strategically-placed vents in the upper cowl help in preventing harmful build-up in the cockpit that helps in reducing helmet buffeting. The Ninja H2 design front fender helps indirect airflow to the radiator while the taillight design offers an aggressive image. There is unique multi-mode instrumentation on the bike as well. It gives a highly-visible LED-backlit bar-graph tachometer strategically placed at the top of the instrument panel. The LED brightness adjusts automatically to changing conditions or it can be set manually accordingly.
