2018 Ninja ZX-6R KRT Kawasaki Sports Bike – Features and Price
Engine Features
An all-new 2018 Ninja ZX-6R KRT Kawasaki Heavy Bike is available with 636 ccs Ultra-Compact and low friction engine. It features the long-stroke engine that offers an increased performance like in 2018 Kawasaki Ninja-ZX-6R. The internal parts of the engine are designed in a way that guarantees its compactness and strength. An all-new close cylinder pitch and compact crankcase give strength and rigidity to the driver. The short-skirt forged piston with ultra-light piston pins and small connecting rod helps in reducing reciprocating weight for quicker revs.
The tri-axle crankshaft and transmission shaft layout concentrates engine mass to idealize the engine’s center of gravity. It helps in reducing pitch movement during braking to ensure better chassis feedback. It is done by transferring the amount of weight from the front axle to the rear axle. The exhaust pre-chamber is located beneath the engine that helps in the centralization of mass, plus it allows the use of smaller, slimmer and lighter mufflers.
An all-new Ram Air Induction helps in increasing the peak power and smooth power delivery. The long intake funnel boosts the low-to-mid-range performance, plus it lowers power feeling. The ram-air duct is healthy and it supports the instrument panel and mirrors stay to eliminate brackets and reduce weight. The central ram-air duct gives the straight path to the airbox that reduces turbulence, and it increases pressure for maximum intake efficiency.
The new digital fuel injection contains the long throttle bodies that increase the distance between the primary and an all-new sub throttle valves for better throttle responses. The throttle bodies consist up of 38 mm with dual-throttle lids (KP) that offer maximum performance and rideability. The sub-throttle is mounted before the main throttle valves in the throttle bore, and it is controlled by the ECU so that the new DFI system has a more precise throttle response similar to the constant velocity carburetor. The fine atomizing fuel injectors have more volume and have a revised spray pattern to optimize the mixing with air for better displacement. The short fuel pump with the flat-bottom design prevents fuel warming at the bottom of the shoe. The new coolers give impressive combustion efficiency.
The Ninja ZX-6R KRT features four stainless steel header pipes that are connected by the joint pipes for increased low-to-midrange torque. It also boosts low-end and midrange power without sacrificing top-end. The pre-chamber under the engine centralizes weight and reduces exhaust ‘s noise plus it helps in minimizing muffler volume. The single right-side muffler lowers the bike’s overall center of gravity, and it helps in centralizing mass.
An all-new transmission comprises up of six-speed close-ratio offering superb gear shifting experience. It is removable as a cassette and gives quick access to making any gear changes. The use of the latest FCC Assist and Slipper Clutch ensures the rotational force of the clutch hub and pressure plate; the new clutch is forced together during acceleration. The spring plate assembly in the grip contributes to the smoother clutch engagement, and it helps in minimizing clutch vibration.
Electronics Features
The new 2018 Ninja ZX-6R KRT Kawasaki Sports Bike comes with all the latest technological systems. It features a unique traction control system, which is quite similar to the one used in Ninja ZX-14R. It comes with two selectable Power Modes and offers riders eight combinations covering the full range of riding situations. The ABS comes as standard equipped with KIBS, which is a highly advanced system being designed for supersport models.
The KTRC is available in three modes, and it is incredibly similar to the one used in Kawasaki Concours 14. It helps in achieving maximum traction with some degrees of slippage for sport riding and rider assurance. This system distinguishes between the smooth and power front wheel lifts and sudden lift. A switch is mounted on the left handlebar switch housing that gives an option to turn it off if required. The Power Mode enables the rider to set the power characteristics to suit riding conditions and style. The rider can easily choose the level of power output from full power operation or low power. The low power is approximately 80% of the complete with milder throttle response.
Advanced electronic instrumentation features the race-spec analog tachometer face for comfortable viewing engine speed. An all-new hybrid instrument layout contains special UV-blocking glass to make the LED meter display brighter and easier to read.
Chassis Features
The 2018 Ninja ZX-6R KRT Kawasaki Sports Motorcycle comes with robust and stylish chassis. It is designed in conjunction with the suspension to ensure a comfortable but controlled ride on all kinds of roads. It guarantees to have perfect cornering power for quick lap times on the race track. The frame and new swingarm were designed and developed with an ideal stiffness balance so that the Ninja ZX-6R gives an instant and precise response to the rider’s input.
An all-new stiffness balance design ensures better handling. The rigidity of the frame is optimized that helps in preventing any road or track irregularities from upsetting the chassis. The suspension and frame help in giving a more planted ride and it helps in absorbing impact without sacrificing handling. The steep 23.5-degree rake angle helps in sharp handling and better feedback from the front tire. The engine mounts angel designed for accurate turning and less effort leaning into the turn. The frame and engine are attached with the combination of pressed and cast aluminum components that are welded to shape the perimeter type frame. An all-new two-piece die-cast aluminum subframe is light and narrow.
The suspension system consists up of Showa, with springs in both of the legs. The preload and damping functions are detached into the right and left fork tubes. The preload adjustments are present on the left side while compression and rebound damping are adjusted on the right. The piston of 37 mm produces the high damping force for better performance during heavy braking.
The new Uni-Trak Rear suspension lever ratios and shock damping settings give a plush ride on the street and highways. The cast aluminum swingarm contains a perfect balance of stiffness and flex plus it works with the frame’s stiffness balance to gives exceptional handling. The Showa rear shock includes preload, rebound and compression damping adjustments as well as adjustable ride height.
The braking system features the radial-mounted Nissin Monobloc front brake calipers that utilize integrated mounting points at the top and bottom of both calipers. It develops the calipers durable for better braking feel and performance. The new Monobloc calipers are machined from the single aluminum block that contributes to the superb feeling plus it has increased heat dissipation and lighter weight. The front disc of 310 mm ensures strong braking performance. The newly designed Nissin rear brake calipers with 30 mm piston from the Ninja ZX-10R are bright and it resists fade and it gives reasonable control. The ABS comes as standard on the bike.
Bodywork
The 2018 Ninja ZX-6R KRT Kawasaki Sports Bike contains a front cowl that shares the same sharp nose design as the Ninja ZX-10R. It features the low co-efficient of drag. The minimalist fairing design looks excellent, and it facilitates airflow.
