The Ducati XDiavel S is one of the most respected and highly appreciated motorcycles in the world. The bike contains Premium quality material and refined finishing with superior technology. An all-new Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine is exceptionally reliable and high performing. Shiny and black enhance the overall design with machined detailing. The XDiavel breaches the cruisers industry with Ducati values and merging concepts that stand worlds apart. If the goal behind purchasing the bike is traveling and relaxing, then the 2018 XDiavel S Ducati Powerful Naked Bike is the best option. The powerful engine having a flat torque curve from the low rev range upwards helps the bike to cruise quickly.
Moreover, those riders who want to have a quick overview of the bike specs should remember three numbers (5000, 60, and 40) that give the whole idea behind the XDiavel. The number 5000 represents RPM at which the twin-cylinder engine achieves the maximum torque while the 60 is the different ergonomics configurations available for the rider. Lastly, 40 denotes the maximum attainable lean angle that a rider can achieve at corners. The XDiavel S is the first Ducati line-up that uses the belt-type final transmission. The Ducati engineers have built this reliable and secure transmission that delivers the best power output. The belt drive has the advantage of silent running, low maintenance, cleanliness, and the fluid throttle response. 2018 XDiavel S Ducati Powerful Naked Bike – Features and Price
Design
The 2018 XDiavel S comes with long and low with modern lines and technologically advanced components. The designers, when finalized the sketch of the bike, we’re happy to see that the bike has gained a Cruiser’s reputation on one side and has a pure naked spirit on the other side. It is one of the futuristic cruisers and can also be called “Technocruisers.”
The XDiavel S 2018 contains the unique silhouette that provides an ideal appearance to the bike, plus it establishes the perfect balance of the wheels, and it brings out the beauty of the engine. The engine has been designed down to the last detailing and contains intra-cylinder “L,” the hallmark of Ducati bikes. The overall layout of the bike is kept elegant and clean, thanks to the close teamwork of engineers and designers. The result of their efforts is the futuristic exaltation of mechanics and technology, and it is not just performance-focused functional elements, but it is also a pure beauty.
The XDiavel S has been designed element by element to ensure the beauty and a beast character of a bike. The frame is kept short and modern, and it is recognized as a classic Ducati Trellis frame. The steel teardrop tank gives the image of the cruiser world while the high performing engine retains the Ducati Naked DNA. The new headlamp and an ultra-modern interpretation of the classic Ducati naked headlight contain modern DRL, tailpiece, silencer, and seat. The painstaking work provides the entire XDiavel range one specific color, i.e., gloss black (Thrilling Black) with matt black stripe and red trim.
Ergonomics
The 2018 XDiavel S Ducati Powerful Naked Bike features the best riding position to ensure a relaxed riding style like a true Cruiser. The Seat contains the footrests positioned a bit forward as compare to the 2017 Ducati XDiavel, and they can easily be adjusted in three different positions. Moreover, those riders who like racier riding position can use the Ducati Performance Central Footpegs kit as well. The designers were worried about the handlebars, cables, and wires and came up with an innovative idea. All the cables and wires are routed in the handlebar that allows the bars to further 25 mm forward.
Engine
The Ducati 2018 XDiavel S contains the twin-cylinder Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine that is entirely new, and it is Euro 4 approved as well. The driver was first used in Ducati Multistrada 1200. With a few adjustments to ensure high torque at low revs, low-rpm power delivery, and fluid mechanism, the engine is now used in XDiavel S.
The 1262 cm3 engine can quickly provide the maximum power of 156 HP at 9,500 RPM with the maximum torque of 13.1 kgm at 5,000 RPM. The new DVT system independently varies the timing of both the intake valve camshaft, and exhaust valve camshaft thanks to its adoption of the valve timing adjuster applied on the ends of two overhead camshafts. The DVT system is further divided into two parts, i.e., external part rigidity and an internal one linked with the camshaft.
The oil pressure is adjusted with the help of dedicated valves, and the timing of each cam is monitored dynamically by a sensor in the cam covers. The bore to stroke ratios of 106 mm and 71.5 mm respectively have been used. As compared to the Multistrada 1200 engine, the XDiavel S contains the higher compression ratio, i.e., 13:1 while the same Bosch electronic injection system includes elliptical throttle bodies of 56 mm equivalent diameter and Ride-by-Wire system.
The top end of the Ducati DVT 1262 has been given a thorough overhaul. The cylinder heads have frame attachments while the horizontal one has been entirely redesigned so that it can easily support the forward adjusted rider footpegs. The crankshaft contains the new balancing system, which instead of classic pads, including ground steel plates. The bike includes the 6-speed gearbox that features the same gear sensor being used in Ducati 1299 Panigale. The XDiavel S’s exhaust is the 2-in-1 system, including the chamber-type body and two new tailpipes. One of the things about the bike is that it required excellent service internals, i.e., 15,000 km or one year.
Electronics
The Ducati 2018 XDiavel S contains the powerful, robust, efficient and innovative electronic components including;
- DTC (Ducati Traction Control)
- DPL (Ducati Power Launch)
- Bosch Brembo Brake System with Cornering ABS
- Dashboard
- Lights
- Hands-Free Ignition

The frame is mounted to the engine at the two cylinder heads as the shell cast aluminum sub-frame. The two forged aluminum plates have been connected with the engine that embraces the swingarm. The lower part of the swingarm is thrown while the upper Trellis section with the formed, removable part allows the extraction of the transmission belt. The wheelbase of 1615 mm gives the perfect agility to the chassis geometry and the possibility of reaching a lean angle as high as 40-degree.
The front of 2018 Ducati XDiavel S is attached with the 50 mm of Marzocchi forks with black anodized sleeves, including rebound, compression damping, and spring pre-load. The damping compression and spring pre-load adjustment are positioned on the left fork tube while the rebound adjustment is mounted on the right container. The XDiavel S contains the cast aluminum slanted fork yoks, including the risers that support aluminum alloy handlebars having the diameter of 32 mm with outer rubber attached tubes having a diameter of 22 mm. The headstock rake of 30-degree and an offset of 130 mm, the monster bike provides an outstanding front-end agility and feel delivering an exceptional handling and fantastic steering fork. The rear section contains Sachs mono-shock, including adjustable spring-preload and damping rebound having a separated reservoir. They have been attached horizontally, and the shock absorber works in connection with the progressive linkage.
The braking system comprises up of a front section of Brembo brakes with M4 32 radial mono-calipers having a PR18/19 radial brake pump containing an integrated aluminum reservoir. The caliper grip two 320 floating discs. The rear section includes 265 mm disc with 2-piston PF 30/32 calipers from Brembo. This Ducati Beast comes with 14-spoke wheels with the front end of 3.5″ x 17″ wheel while the rear has 8″ x 17″.
