2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike Review Specs

The Aprilia brand is very famous for its high performing sports bike, and its new 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike proves it. This sports bike is an extraordinary project initiated a year ago, and it will never stop growing.

It is the fastest, most powerful and lightest RSV4 Aprilia ever made. Its chassis contains highly advanced architecture and brakes with reduced weight. This RR version comes with the 201 HP 1000 cc V4 engine, and it is available in two different color options.

This Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 has set the new record in terms of sportiness and performance, thanks to the years of efforts and experience. This Aprilia motorcycle has a rich history and has won 54 world titles, which includes seven from the World SBK championship.

The design and latest technology make it one of the best in the entire RSV4 lineup. Its 65-degree V4 engine perfectly combines with the frame of RSV4 that enables it to win 18 titles along with 143 Grand Prix races in the top 250 GP class. It is enhanced by the modern electronics systems that manage the engine and dynamic performance.

It is the right Aprilia bike that features Ride-By-Wire multi-map accelerator as standard equipment. The APRC, dynamic control system exclusive, features the self-calibration and wheelie control in the spirit of extreme effectiveness at the service of top performance.

2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike – Features and Specifications

Chassis

The 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike features the state of the art chassis architecture, thanks to the experience gained during the top-level world competitions. The frame comes with exceptional adjustment possibilities, and the swingarm exploits pressed and cast elements welded to one another.

The ratio between the torsional stiffness and flexibility is one of the secrets of the RSV4 chassis architecture’s success. It has the same structure, which was used in Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, although the latter has slightly different steering geometry.

The architecture of chassis is completed with the new Sachs suspension trio (instead of the conventional Ohlins) containing fork of 43 mm stanchions and the shock absorber with separate “piggyback” and steering damper. The first-two fully adjustable in all hydraulic functions and in spring preload (the shock absorber has the center-to-center length adjustment that allows the height of rear end to be changed).

The pairs of cast-aluminum wheels and Brembo braking system gives a superb performance. The front section contains the pair of new 5 mm thick steel disc with a diameter of 330 mm, it is gripped by the Monobloc M50 calipers being fitted with high friction coefficient brake pads.

Versions and Colors

The 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike is available in two attractive color options i.e., on black and grey base with red wheel rims. The RSV4 1100 Factory exclusive version comes standard with the latest generation Ohlins suspension system, lightweight aluminum forged rims, and titanium Akropovic exhaust terminal.

It contains the dedicated Atomico 6 graphics that highlight and enhance the use of precious technical materials such as carbon. The upper steering yoke has been enhanced by the laser-etched writing 1100 Factory. In contrast, it completes the features of the new RSV4 better than the previous 2018 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike.

Electronics

The 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike comes with an exceptional dynamic control package designed by Aprilia. It contains the specific calibration of all the controls in line with different performance levels. The APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) is a well-known dynamic control suite derived directly from the winning technology in the world superbike.

The special positioning and orientation of the inertial platform that issues the operation of the system, which allows for the detection of the bike’s dynamic conditions and consequently, more effective electronic control strategies.

The fourth evolution of APRC is integrated with an electronic fine tuning guaranteed by the full Ride-by-Wire throttle control. It is entirely built-in and requires no other components for electronic throttle valve management. It offers clear benefits in terms of weights as compared to the traditional system; thus, it saves 590 grams.

The APRC comes as standard equipment on 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RR 1000 Sports Bike, which includes:

  • ATC (Aprilia Traction Control)
  • AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control)
  • ALC (Aprilia Launch Control)
  • AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift)
  • APL (Aprilia Pit Limiter)
  • ACC (Aprilia Cruise Control)

In addition to the fourth generation of the APRC system, the RSV4 RR also contains an advanced multi-map cornering ABS developed in collaboration with Bosch to ensure ultimate safety on the road.

The 9.1 MP system easily optimize braking and ABS intervention in corners, thanks to the specific algorithm. This algorithm continually monitors various parameters such as lateral acceleration, the lean, pitch, and yaw angle and stability.

The ABS works with the Aprilia RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system, which limits the lift of the rear wheel during more abrupt braking. The cornering ABS, fine-tuned following Aprilia’s specific indications, is adjustable in 3 levels of sensibility.

Each of three Cornering ABS maps can easily be combined with three engine maps (Sports, Track and Race). It helps the rider to find the best possible combination for their style.
