2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 Naked Bike – Features and Specifications
Design
The 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 features a distinctive design. It contains the lateral air intake ducts that embrace the front end to the personal comfort rear end including the exhaust pipes positioned under the saddle. The superstructure further enhances the overall design;
- Fuel Tank Side Cover,
- Side Panel,
- Tail and Front Mudguard.
This twin-cylinder 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 Naked Bike contains the twin-cylinder from Noale, which stands out for an aggressive feature. It provides the distinctly sporty character to its frame, shock absorber spring, and cylinder head covers, which are painted in red color. The adrenaline-charged detailing has been blended into three different color schemes i.e., Hi-Tech Silver, Challenging Red, and Innovative Dark.
The exhaust of Aprilia 2019 Shiver has been positioned under the saddle that contributes to a clear side view of the bike. The brand new exhaust bottom made up of concentric rings that end in the concave disc better than 2018 Aprilia Shiver 900.
Engine
The Aprilia Shiver 900 features the 750 cc engine, which is characterized by the mid-range torque, quick acceleration, and exiting turns. The 90 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm ensures to provide superb performance under all conditions. This twin-cylinder engine can provide more than 95 HP, plus it is also available in the version with power limited to 35 kW, which can be ridden with an A2 class driver’s license. The Aprilia Shiver 900 is easy to ride a bike, especially for the new riders.
The engine features the 90-degree angle between its two cylinders, four-valve timing per cylinder, dual overhead cam, and liquid cooling that includes the significant operation aimed at reducing friction on the pistons.
An efficient and latest semi-dry carter internal lubrication circuit helps in the reduction of losses of power due to shaking, plus it keeps the consumption and temperature of the lubricant to the limit. Thanks to the new injectors that allows the better spraying of the air/fuel mixture with benefits of consumption and emissions. The engine is fitted with an automatic decompressor that ensures an easy start during low temperatures.
The units have been controlled by the Marelli 7SM ECU, which is the substantial evolution plus than on the other hand, it allows to have a refined traction control system to be introduced. On the other hand, it has significant simplification of the electrical system i.e., engine controls and management systems, which were previously carried out by two separate electronic control units.
The clutch components have been completely redesigned as compared to the older 2018 Aprilia Shiver 900 bike. The load on the clutch levers has been decreased by 15% while the first drive reduction ratio has been changed to an optimize exploitation of available power.
Electronics
The Aprilia 900 Shiver can receive maximum benefits from its electronic control system and riding support for which the Aprilia RSV4 has won seven biggest World SBK titles.
Team Aprilia has used its experience and has developed this Aprilia technology first. The Aprilia Shiver 900 contains an advanced traction control system that includes three different levels or disabled. It has been designed especially to ensure maximum safety, plus it provides brilliant riding enjoyment thanks to its new dual control that acts on both ignition and motorized throttle valves. It makes the intervention smooth and easy to manage. The Traction Control System is combined with the Continental two-channel ABS with developed calibration. The ABS feature can also be disabled.
The Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle system is used for the first time on factor bike i.e., Aprilia Shiver 900. It is now entirely integrated with the throttle grip and has lightweight. This system uses even more accurate management of the fuel/air mixture and injection throttle valve opening based on numerous parameters, which includes;
-
- Engine speed
- Gearbox position
- Airflow
- Throttle grip opening (in quantity and speed)
- Temperature
The electronic management also provides the facility of changing engine mapping, radically. Its sport setting offers an immediate and aggressive throttle response; the Touring provides a smoother response while the Rain reduces power up to 70 HP. The Mapping can be easily changed at any time only by pressing the engine start button.
The instrumentation panel is made up of an ultra-modern TFT technology display that provides the perfect legibility of the information. The screen is 4.3 inches large, just like the one used in Aprilia RSV4 and Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4. It lets the board information to be clear and highly legible at all times.
The 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 contains the Aprilia Multimedia Platform (AMP), which ensures connectivity with the smartphone. It allows the rider to see all the information to be displayed directly on the smartphone using the dedicated app. This app allows the rider to share the travel information i.e., sportiest riding style, routes, speed, grip conditions, and Aprilia service center locations.
Chassis
The Chassis of 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 Naked Bike has been designed in the best architecture that gives an easy to ride riding experience. The mixed steel trellis/ aluminum frame offers standard-setting stiffness that makes it an extremely compact bike, and it ensures that it is capable of catering to fledgling riders with no problem.
The overall structure of 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 has been drawn from proverbial Aprilia chassis architecture know-how. The trellis upper part in the steel tubing is connected to the full spread aluminum lateral plates using unique and highly resistance bolts. The combined formed by these elements creates an extremely stiff and lightweight frame.
The 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 features the Kayaba fork with hydraulics adjustable in extension and spring preload with 41 mm stanchions with cold cast feet that support the radial calipers. The 130 mm travel allows the rider to tackle urban and mountain routes smoothly. The two steering yoke plates have been made of forged aluminum.
The rear shock absorber has been mounted on the side and is pivoted directly to the swingarm. Rear-wheel travel is about 130 mm. The new sporty three-spoke wheels are taken from the Aprilia Tuono V4. It leads to the drastic reduction of the gyroscopic effect, and it has greater agility for the bike.
The braking system has been equipped with two-channel ABS, implements a radial caliper to highlight the sportiness of the project and discs of 320 mm on the front. The rear braking system features 240 mm of a disc, which is gripped by the single-piston caliper.
