Of torque, this brand-new DS model from 2024 is prepared to take on everything from rough back roads to your daily commute. Thanks to its new design, inventive motor, and better battery, the DS has improved capabilities all around. The 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike is an appealing option for your everyday commute and an exciting trip better than 2023 Zero DS.
Z-Force 75-7
Zero’s latest in a long line of inside permanent magnet AC motors with improved thermal efficiency and passive air cooling is the Z-Force 75-7. The 2024 Z-Force 75-7 has a redesigned internal architecture to increase power and significantly reduce weight, but it shares the outside motor hardware of the DSR/X, the top model in the Zero dual-sport series, to shed heat quickly. Overall, cost reductions for a dual-sport electric class category killer are the outcome.
Power Pivot
The 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike has the same unique and strengthened concentric motor and swingarm pivot architecture as the Zero DSR/X, the world’s most excellent electric dual sport motorbike. This offers the best architecture to guarantee maximum torque delivery to the back wheel and steady drive-belt tension. Thanks to a specially made, large-bearing swingarm pivot, the high-performance engine has enough room, and the compact chassis waist improves rider ergonomics and bike handling in both rutted-out backcountry and traffic.
Effortless Control
Zero’s most recent Cypher III+ operating system’s everyday performance features have been added to the 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike. Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) combines intelligence and strength in equal measure. This includes the Offroad MSC, also included on the DSR/X. Intuitive control and effortless power combine to set a new benchmark for high-end performance at an unbelievably affordable price. The Zero DS is a versatile motorcycle and engine combo that easily handles a variety of road conditions and terrain.
Cypher III+
As the leading operating system for e-motorcycles, Cypher III+ sets the standard by expertly coordinating the 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike. The NextGen software is infinitely customizable and allows you to add new Cypher Features to the DS. With the Zero DS, take your riding to the next level.
Arsenal of Ride Modes
Through Zero’s user-friendly NextGen software and dash interface, the rider may personalize the Zero DS’s performance with its array of riding modes. With Rain, Eco, Standard, Sport, and Canyon modes pre-installed and an almost limitless array of custom-tuned mode tweaks, the DS can negotiate the road in any situation. Bosch Offroad MSC improves control in low-traction situations and may be used in any mode. Discover unmatched performance and adaptability customized to your tastes and terrain.
Effortless Connection
The Cypher III+ operating system and accessible over-the-air (OTA) upgrades make the Zero DS more than simply connected—it’s genuinely “smart.” Enjoy endless options, personalize the dash, and use the NextGen app with standard features. The 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike is the ultimate ride with flawless connectivity in every aspect, thanks to its unrivaled power and future-proof intelligence.
The Connected Bike
The Zero DS constantly sends data to the NextGen app thanks to its cellular network connection. The app always provides numerous ride details, such as the location and current bike status. Thanks to its connectivity, the rider can keep an eye on the bike in four key areas: OTA System Updates, Ride Data Sharing, Charging, and Bike Status & Alerts.
Advanced APP
With the help of Cypher III+ and the dash, Zero’s NextGen app creates a feature-rich environment that allows users to choose upgrades with a single finger swipe. Among the options you may select from are On-Dash Navigation, Parking Mode, and Faster Charging. Personalized dash choices, scheduled and target-based charging, ride mode creation and selection, and much more are currently free features in the app.
Z-Force 14.4 Battery Pack
The Z-FORCE 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery gives the 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike a 144-mile city range and requires no maintenance or upkeep. With the optional power tank attachment, riders may increase their range further (dealer installation is needed). The battery’s industry-leading power and energy density, aluminum heat-sink housing, and thermal transfer interface guarantee maximum long-term powertrain performance and constant cell cooling.
Rapid Charge System
Although our Rapid Charge System may be adjusted to accommodate different charging levels, the Zero DS starts as a powerful 3.0 kW charger. You can increase your onboard charging power and have your dealer install the optional Rapid Charging Module attachment for even quicker charging. Alternatively, you may charge the Zero DS overnight using any typical 110V wall outlet with the provided EVSE connection.
Z-Force 75-7 Motor
The DS can quickly reach 104 mph with the Z-Force 75-7 motor’s 97 ft-lb of torque and 68 horsepower. Combining Zero’s well-known internal permanent magnet brushless architecture with a small, passively air-cooled design achieves class-leading performance and efficiency.
Chassis
Although it would seem that the 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike and Zero’s street motorcycles have the same steel-trellis frame, that is where the similarities stop. Redesigned to reduce weight and increase strength, the frame is strengthened to withstand the demands of any terrain. Because the powertrain is evenly distributed, the design is mass-centralized and weight-optimized. With a category-leading 9.7″ ground clearance, the Zero DS components are uniquely positioned to maximize adventure. With a coaxial power-pivot swingarm that has been strengthened to support heavier loads in more challenging circumstances, the bike’s design and Showa’s adventure suspension provide a controlled and agile riding experience.
Linked Braking
The connected braking system is a characteristic of the DS. When the Bosch Advanced Stability Control System detects any slippage or a lack of traction, it immediately engages. When climbing or descending steep, rough terrain, the system instantly delivers the proper amount of braking to the J.Juan front and rear brakes simultaneously, giving you more control.
See Clearly
Personalize your dash or rely on the best auto-contrasting light detection technology to handle everything. When you select the bike information you like to highlight, several data fields are easily readable on the full-color 5″ TFT screen. Multi-mode navigation makes cruise control, heated grip control, on-the-fly riding mode switching, and many more features possible.
Rubber Side Down
The 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike’s exceptionally lightweight and sturdy cast wheels, which are 19″ up front and 17″ in back, allow it to handle almost any obstacle. Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires are included for consistently good performance on all surfaces. The unstoppable Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires are available for riders who wish to transform their DS into a completely trail-rated off-road beast.
Carbon Strong
Zero partnered with Gates Carbon Belt Drive, a pioneer in Zerot-driven power sports technologies. To create an entirely new belt power sport for the DS. The Gates Carbon Drive Moto X9 belt is more comprehensive, stronger, and capable. It is combined with more giant, ported sprockets on the Mudport Wheel Sprocket to minimize bend angles and clear the drive system of debris. The outcome of this combination is the most robust drive system available on an electric motorbike.
Light the Way
With the specially designed full LED headlamp and LED taillight with opalescent light pipe for unparalleled lateral vision, you can see the road ahead like never before and make sure it always sees you. To ensure that your intentions are communicated as much as possible in low-light conditions, the 2024 DS may be enhanced with optional LED turn and danger indicators.
Room to Spare
The new 2024 Zero DS Electric Bike has a 28L onboard storage capacity spread among many compartments. The DS is full of well-considered storage choices that go well with your preferred ADV riding gear, from the discreet stash spaces on the motorbike to the roomy tank assembly storage, sometimes called a “frunk.” Additionally, custom storage containers from some of the most reputable brands in adventure riding may be added to the DS.
