2023 Zero DSR Dual Sports Bike – Features and Specs
Adventure Unleashed
You can still hear the crunch of your AT tires tearing through the ground while producing an astonishing 116 ft-lb of torque. The DSR amps up the power and turns every route into a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nothing vibrates, shifts, or emits fumes. The sector-leading Z-Force® powertrain quickly drives your trip as your motorbike appears to vanish under you softly.
Always Dialed
Changing from fire routes made of loose gravel to smooth asphalt? All is well. To navigate any terrain, just click a button to switch performance profiles. The Zero DSR has Eco or Sport modes pre-programmed, and performance can be modified entirely via the Zero Motorcycles app, which also shows comprehensive riding statistics.
Charge Up To 6x Faster
Grab a meal. Brew some coffee. Recharge. Enjoy your life while gaining 94 miles of range each hour of plugged-in time. Compared to a regular wall outlet, the Charge Tank option provides about six times quicker charging and is compatible with Level 2 charge stations. A regular recharge may be completed in as little as an hour, depending on the battery.
Charging. Meet household outlet.
Your regular home outlets may be used as fueling stations for a fraction of the price of gasoline. Therefore no additional equipment is needed. Connect at night to begin the next day with a full tank.
Long Range Battery Tech
The Zero DSR has the EV industry’s best power and energy density battery. The Z-Force® battery confidently takes you where you’re going thanks to its more than thirteen years of demanding off-road use.
Pull The Plug On the Maintenance
Take a fast-fire road. Get muddy. Abide by the present. The Zero DSR simply requires that you plug in after your journey. There is no need to change dirty oil or clogged filters. By swapping out the messy fossil burner for a motor with a single moving component, the Z-Force® engine does away with the need for oil, spark plugs, clutches, and filters. A carbon fiber belt that carries the Zero DSR’s powerful acceleration runs straight from the engine to the back tire. Chain maintenance is no longer necessary.
The Z-Force® battery from BATTERY Zero Motorcycles has the highest power and energy density in the EV sector. The ZF14.4 battery is included with the Zero DSR. For a 3.6 kWh increase in battery capacity, add a Power Tank accessory.
The battery has a five-year, unlimited mileage guarantee and is built to endure. Long-term battery health is further enhanced by the Zero DSR’s Long-Term Storage Mode, which optimizes the battery’s charge level.
Motor
The remarkable Z-Force® motor has a practical design that passive air cooling is needed to generate steady power and up to 116 ft-lb. Throttle down for powerful acceleration. Rolling off the throttle allows you to recharge the battery gradually.
No heavy, costly, or sophisticated liquid cooling. No fuss. Nothing routine is required. The most effective, powerful, and small brushless motor available today.
Chassis
The chassis of the Zero DS, which includes two spars, is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and provides higher torsional stiffness.
Suspension
The Zero DSR suspension, which Showa specifically developed for Zero, has 7 inches of comfortable travel that lets you handle almost any terrain that comes your way. To wholly and simply glide over any city street or tear down your favorite fire road, the whole suspension system is fully adjustable.
Dash
The Zero DSR has a full-color display that displays the necessary information, like speed, battery level, power output, riding mode, and more. To personalize the information seen on your dash, sync with your smartphone.
Onboard Charger
There is no need for extra charging hardware. Any domestic outlet may plug in the standard 1.3 kW onboard charger. To shorten charging times, it may be used in combination with the off-board Quick Charger attachment and the Charge Tank option.
Tank
The regular Zero DSR “tank” has roomy lockable storage that is ideal for concealing personal goods like wallets, mobile phones, or gloves. Want a longer battery life or quick charging? Replace the stock tank with the Charge Tank alternative for 6x faster charging or the Power Tank add-on for 3.6 kWh more battery capacity.
Brakes
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) from Bosch provides sure stopping. The technology maximizes deceleration when you slam on the brakes since it has been tested in almost every imaginable scenario. Levers that may be adjusted for better ergonomics are used to apply the brakes. Riders can turn on or off ABS.
Direct Drive
Remove all chains, gears, shifters, clutches, and other cumbersome components. Energy silently transforms into propulsion as you accelerate to speeds of more than 95 mph. It is a direct drive in the Zero DSR. A carbon fiber belt connects its cutting-edge engine to the rear wheel.
Wheels and Tires
The Zero DSR’s Pirelli MT-60 tires provide outstanding traction, excellent durability, and a smooth ride, allowing you to shred confidence on everything from twisty pavement to loose fire roads. Durable cast alloy wheels with mounted tires and a hollow front axle reduce unsprung weight to enhance handling.
