2023 Zero DS Electric Dual Sports Motorcycle – Features and Specs
Trail Beast
The Zero DS’s incredible 78 lb.-ft. Of torque allows it to silently lift stumps without making a sound. If you want to go ahead with the gas-powered bikes and discover new terrain, just give it some gas and go for it.
There was no movement, shaking, or exhaust. The motorbike vanishes softly from under you as the Z-Force power plant propels your journey through 82 kilometers of terrain.
Always Dialed
Is it changing from paved streets to gravel fire lanes? There is nothing to worry about. It’s possible to switch between several performance profiles with the push of a button, enabling you to adapt to any environment. Eco and Sport modes are already installed on the Zero DS, and the Zero Motorcycles app allows for complete performance tuning and thorough ride data analysis.
Charge Up To 6X Faster
Put down your work and get some food. You should get a cup of coffee. Recharge. Spend an hour charging and you’ll get 94 miles of driving time. When compared to a regular wall outlet, the Charge Tank option is almost six times as fast and is compatible with Level 2 charge stations. A regular recharge now takes as little as an hour, depending on the battery.
Charging. Meet household outlet.
There is no need to go out and buy expensive refueling infrastructure when regular home outlets may serve the same purpose at a quarter of the price of regular gasoline. You may start the day with a full charge if you plug in overnight.
Long Range Battery Tech
Regarding battery power and energy density, the Zero DS is unrivaled. The Z-Force® battery has been tested for over fifteen years in extreme off-road conditions.
Pull the Plug on the Maintenance
Go full speed along a fire road. Aim to muddy up. Enjoy the present time. The Zero DS requires a charging cable when your journey is over. There will be no need to change the oil or the filter. Z-Force® powertrain replaces oil, spark plugs, clutches, and filters with a single moving component in the motor, doing away with the fossil burner’s sloppy maintenance. An integral carbon fiber belt links the Zero DS’s engine to the back wheel, allowing blistering acceleration. Repairing links in a chain is now obsolete. Check all the details.
Battery
The Z-Force® battery used in Zero Motorcycles is the highest capacity and most powerful battery in the electric vehicle market. The ZF7.2 is the stock battery for the Zero DS. To increase the battery capacity by 3.6 kWh, a Power Tank accessory must be added.
The battery has been built to endure and comes with a five-year, unlimited-mileage guarantee. Long-Term Storage Mode is included in the Zero DS to maximize the battery’s health over time by regulating the battery’s charge level.
Motor
The fabulous Z-Force® motor needs no active cooling, and yet it generates up to 78 ft-lb of torque with ease. Put your foot down on the gas and rocket forward. Reduce your speed to return power to the battery slowly.
There is no need for cumbersome and costly liquid cooling. Just the facts, ma’am. There will be no regular upkeep. Regarding efficiency, power, and size, this brushless motor is without a peer.
Chassis
The Zero DS features a sturdy chassis due of its twin-spar construction and use of aircraft-grade aluminum.
Suspension
The Zero DS suspension, explicitly developed for Zero by Showa, has 7 inches of a comfortable travel and can handle practically any terrain. The full suspension may be simply changed to your preferred setting to cruise over city streets or tear down a backcountry trail with ease.
The Zero DS has a high-resolution color screen that shows all the information you need, like your current speed, battery life, power output, and riding mode. Link your dashboard displays with your mobile device for a personalized driving experience.
Onboard Charger
There is no need to purchase any supplementary charging apparatus. The 1.3-kilowatt standard onboard charger may be used with any regular wall socket. It may be used with the optional Charge Tank and the off-board Quick Charger to reduce charging times drastically.
Tank
The “tank” of a typical Zero DS has plenty of secure compartments for stowing small goods like wallets, phones, and gloves. Are you looking for a longer battery life or a quicker charging time? You may upgrade your tank with the Charge Tank to charge six times more rapidly, or you can get the Power Tank to increase your battery capacity by 3.6 kWh.
Brakes
Stop with certainty thanks to Bosch’s anti-lock brake system (ABS). The technology is designed to maximize braking efficiency under any conditions. The levers used to apply the brakes are fully adjustable for optimal comfort. The rider has the option of turning ABS on or off.
Direct Drive
Take away the cumbersome complexity of clutches, gears, shifting, and chains. Power efficiently translates into silent propulsion as you soar to speeds of more than 95 mph. Zero DS models include direct drive. The cutting-edge motor is linked to the back wheel through a carbon fiber drive belt.
Wheels and Tires
The Zero DS’s Pirelli MT-60 tires deliver exceptional traction, superb durability, and a road feel, allowing you to shred with confidence on everything from twisty pavement to loose fire roads. The wheels are long-lasting cast alloy, and the hollow front axle reduces unsprung weight to facilitate better.
