Key Features
The 2023 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS Cruiser features two different two-tone paint treatments: Candy Daring Red and Glass Sparkle Black, or Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black with contrasting graphics. Both striking color schemes convey that this is a severe muscle cruiser that stays true to Suzuki’s performance history like in 2022 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS.
This tall, commanding muscle cruiser is unmatched in its individuality, and the deep, rich paint is flawlessly applied. The bike is unique in every way, from the striking headlight nacelle to the drag-style handlebars and 240mm wide rear tire. From nose to tail, the 2023 Suzuki Boulevard 2023 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS’s exterior is sleek and functional, and this is even more apparent when the optional tail cowl is installed in place of the passenger seat.
The 54-degree, 109 cubic inches (1783cc) V-Twin engine roars through two large-diameter mufflers before driving the 240 mm-wide rear tire via shaft drive. The dual front brakes on the 2023 Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS Cruiser are radially mounted and provide reliable stopping power, just like the brakes on the GSX-R1000R. Thanks to the large-diameter inverted suspension and 240 mm wide rear tire, the bike has an aggressive, strong attitude and a smooth, controlled ride.
Engine Features
The DOHC, 54-degree, 109 cubic inch (1783cc), eight-valve, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine is tuned to deliver tremendous amounts of usable power and agile torque. Large aluminum alloy forged pistons measuring 4.4 inches (112 mm). With a race-proven design to reduce friction and torsional mass, these are the most oversized reciprocating gasoline engine pistons used in any production passenger car or motorcycle. Suzuki’s race-proven Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) is used inside each large cylinder for maximum heat transmission, tight piston-to-cylinder clearance, and lightweight.
The Suzuki Advanced Sump System (SASS) is a compact dry sump lubrication system that lowers the center of gravity, crankshaft position, and engine height. The Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve System (SDTV) features Suzuki’s class-leading electronic fuel injection system with 56mm throttle bodies. It maintains ideal air velocity for smooth low- to mid-range throttle response. A unique two-stage cam drive mechanism lowers the center of gravity, reduces overall engine height, and results in a compact cylinder head design.
A powerful 32-bit ECM manages a twin spark plug per cylinder ignition system to increase combustion efficiency and lower emissions. The three-piece, 9.5-liter volume airbox (with dual intake) has two pleated fabric air cleaner sections on each side of the engine. Suzuki’s digitally monitored SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) system is integrated into the two-into-two-one-to-two stainless steel blackout exhaust system for optimal engine performance and loud V-Twin sound.
The sculpted engine’s blackout engine covers complement the cylinders’ eye-catching symmetry and sharp cooling fins. A constant-mesh, wide-ratio five-speed transmission with a fifth-gear ratio allows for comfortable interstate driving. This low-maintenance shaft drive efficiently transfers power to the large 18-inch rear tire while operating quietly and with very little torque response.
Chassis Features
A twin cradle frame of high-tensile steel is designed to provide a smooth, velvety ride while allowing the vehicle to efficiently handle all the power and torque. This vast, low-profile 240/40 x 18 rear tire is the largest Suzuki motorbike rear tire ever. Race-tested cartridge internal blackout, inverted front forks with 46mm stanchion tubes, and 5.1 inches of smooth wheel travel feature.
The cast aluminum alloy swingarm features a single rear shock absorber and a progressive linkage, with an adjustable spring preload to accommodate rider and passenger weight. The bike can be brought down to speed with the help of its single-disc rear brake and twin front floating disc brakes with dual-piston calipers.
Pullback risers position flat-band, drag-style handlebars closer to the seat to improve comfort and control through the rider/machine interface. The tall fuel tank can hold a full 5.2 gallons of gasoline. In addition, the tank-mounted analog speedometer houses two trip meters, a fuel gauge, a clock, and an LCD odometer.
Above the headlamps in the cowl is an integrated instrument cluster with a digital tachometer, gear position indicator, and LED indicator lights. Because they are well padded, allow riders of all sizes to sit comfortably, and allow freedom of movement, both passenger and rider seats are designed with comfort in mind. For a more aggressive appearance or solo travel use, a sporty cover for the solo seat can easily be swapped for the passenger seat.
