The Moto Guzzi V7 is a basic motorcycle with a bold and authentic character. It has consistently been notable for its philosophy of customization, which allows for an endless array of interpretations. Additionally, Moto Guzzi V7 is among the list of Top Ten Best Modern Classic Bikes.
While Moto Guzzi is starting to accept pre-orders for its all-new V100, it has also announced that it will continue to produce its trusty air-cooled V-twin for a few more years. It is something that the new V7 Stone Special Edition makes very clear.
2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition Classic Motorcycle – Features
Engine
The Stone’s current Euro 5 compliant engine displaces 853cc and produces a respectable 65 horsepower. It is a tweaked version of the 744cc powertrain that evolved into an 850cc, 80 horsepower powerplant (the current V85 TT model is a 78 horsepower version). The engine powers the rest of the vehicles from the less successful V9 series and all present V7 variants better than previous 2022 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Special Edition model.
Power
There are other variables besides the horsepower figures. Additionally, the engine replaces more expensive parts with more readily available components, such as aluminum pushrods, titanium intake valves, and unique con-rod forgings. Unlike a forged one, the new general-purpose Moto Guzzi Twin also has a press-fit crankshaft. Press-fit cranks are less expensive and more flexible when changing the engine stroke to achieve different displacements. It is a holdover from the engine’s development history.
Special Edition Features
The bike still has the V85 TT’s reliable 10.5:1 compression ratio but now has a central 38mm throttle body for breathing. The V7 Stone Special Edition also has a powerful aero exhaust system, helping the engine produce 66.5 horsepower and a flatter torque curve.
Styling
Although the Moto Guzzi V7 Stone is the cheapest model, the special edition’s visuals look more affluent and polished. The traditional matte black of the V7 Stone has been replaced with a beautiful gloss black paint scheme with red highlights of Guzzi’s iconic Mandello Eagle on the tank. The shock springs are finished in red, and the fuel cap is machined aluminum billet anodized black. Valve covers are coated in graphite gray. Clever graphics enhancements make the V7 Stone Special stand out even though it’s not innovative.
