Moto Guzzi and the Italian Navy commemorate more than a century of their shared history together on the magnificent flight deck of the Cavour aircraft carrier.
The Eagle’s Nest, which will undergo extensive reconstruction, expansion, and development over the next few years, will also benefit from a fresh look. The facility has been opened to the public, serving as a gathering place for bike enthusiasts. By carefully combining history and innovation, engineering and design, this new industrial vision—based on the ideals of environmental sustainability and resource efficiency—will help develop an entirely distinct technological and cultural heritage.
A brand new chapter in the Moto Guzzi saga will begin with the release of the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. A motorcycle that defies classification and conformity will merge dynamic style with the passion for Travel that permeates every Moto Guzzi.
2023 Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale Adventure Bike – Features and Specs
Design
The engine, 103 mm shorter than the V85 TT small-block, is incredibly light and compact thanks to an innovative design. The 90° rotation of the cylinder heads, which improves the comfort of the plane and rationalizes the placement of parts in the intake and electronic injection systems, distinguishes the new twin engines from all engines recently built at Mandello del Lario.
Power
Its actual displacement is 1042cc. The timing system features of a double overhead camshaft (DOHC) with finger followers and four chain-operated valves per cylinder. It also has a liquid cooling system, a hydraulically actuated wet clutch, and a wet sump lubrication system.
Performance
With more than 115 HP and more than 105 Nm of torque, the performance is unmatched. 90% power is available at 3500 rpm, and the limiter is set at 9500 rpm. Information that successfully conveys the personality and strength of the new engine — it’s quick, has real drive even at low speeds, and can deliver a riding experience that’s true to the Moto Guzzi brand.
The shaft uses a long, single-sided swingarm made of aluminum drive. It is now on the left. Because of the torque transfer, the driveshaft exit position—significantly lower than earlier Moto Guzzi engines—eliminates any suspension reaction and the need for linkage on the swingarm.
Sports Character
The V100 Mandelo’s compact and manageable chassis delivers long distances and excitement during turns and fast sections while maintaining that unique front-wheel feel synonymous with fun and riding pleasure, the bike’s sporty character. I also contribute. This is also a result of the bike’s 1486 mm wheelbase steel tube frame, which reflects the bike’s agility and is a product of the best Moto Guzzi construction culture.
Comfort
Significant comfort from the large saddle and dynamic, comfortable riding position enhances its touring attitude. In keeping with the philosophy of the model, a single variable section aluminum handlebar has been adopted. This handlebar is ideal for maintaining control during sports and provides a more comfortable and elevated riding position when touring. The basis of the project is a two-person ride, where the passenger can count on a large, well-padded saddle area, functional grip handles, and a posture that guarantees a comfortable ride. The extensive, dedicated accessories catalog includes a set of bike cases. These cases can be assembled without additional support and accommodate the bike’s weight and side bulk.
Along with the world’s first Adaptive Aerodynamic System that automatically changes the position of the deflectors on the sidewalls of the 17.5-liter tank based on speed and the selected riding mode, Moto Guzzi technology also helps increase comfort and wind protection. The V100 Mandelo approaches the level of aero protection offered by the less sporty and more large tourers thanks to the safety provided by the top fairing, whose height can be adjusted electronically. Fully inflated aerodynamic appendages reduce wind pressure on the rider by 22 percent.
Electronics
With a ride-by-wire electronic accelerator for precise performance and consumption control, the latest Marelli 11MP ECU is a six-axis hybrid platform for efficient electronic control management, cruise control, and cornering for active safety. ABS. This system completes an excellent electronics package.
There are four amazing riding modes: road, sport, rain, and Travel. Each of these controls has three separate engine mappings, four traction control levels, three engine brake levels, and (on the version that adds them as standard) Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension calibration. This semi-active suspension can automatically adjust minute-by-minute to the type of riding and road conditions for optimal bike handling in any condition.
Moto Guzzi technology aims to make life easier while riding and provide a thrilling and safe experience. To take advantage of the optimal automatic adjustment of electronic parameters—which can also be personalized so that each rider can find their preferred settings—the rider needs to select the riding mode that best suits their needs. Complete with an entire LED lighting system with DRLs, 5-color TFT instrumentation, and a “Bending Lights” system—consisting of two additional lights that highlight the whole corner to improve visibility while bending—these are standard features.
Suspension
There are two versions of the V100 Mandello with different trims. Apart from the quick shift, heated handgrips, and the Moto Guzzi MIA multimedia platform, the smartphone can connect to devices via Bluetooth to expand its functions. The GPS feature, which enables the rider to immediately read the instructions on the instrument panel after the destination has been set on the smartphone, is also included in the Moto Guzzi MIA infotainment system, which allows the rider to make voice assistants, phone calls, and controls. Gives—music using simple handlebar controls.
